- PS5 Firmware 2.0 Reportedly Brings Performance Improvements To Some Games
-
I wish they could do what Xbox did to improve fps on games that are locked at 30.
Also I’m really jealous of game switching lol. It would really help with returnal.
-
I have to constantly disconnect and reconnect to the internet for most online stuff to work. Store rarely loads, friends list doesn’t load. Can’t accept invites to games. Idk what the issue is but it’s dumb.
-
Sounds like a double NAT… what is your NAT type in settings… try changing it to 1 and see if that fixes your issues
-
I’ll have to check that out when I get home. Thanks for the tip.
-
Closed nat?
-
That seems like an issue on your end.
-
It’s an internet issue for sure. It doesn’t happen at my gf’s on her internet, but it happens on mine.
-
i wish senran kagura estival versus gets fixed that shadow textures , marvelous is lazy =(
-
I've been getting wifi disconnects though. Can't say i had a single one before the current firmware, with 10 months of use. But it seems like it only tells me the wifi is disconnected, while it appears the connection is actually fine. Or it's so brief that you don't notice.
-
More "stability updates"?
-
I just want the double tapping PS4 feature to switch between apps used. Double tapping now is stupid as it brings up the first activity card which is PS button + X. What a waste.
-
What is this PS5 thing they speak of? Still no luck. I do have to admit, I've kind of stopped looking in the last month or so.
-
I've had multiple friends who didn't get one at launch on day one do this so it works !! Follow Wario64 on twitter, he gets updates & info, then sends a tweet as to when & where they will be So you can get ready, Everyone of my friends that did this, Got One !!
FYI, BestBuy, Thursday (09/24/2021), In store supposedly, ! Cheers & Luck !
-
I'll look into that. Thanks.
-
There's something very cool about getting a controller update, too.
-
This firmware actually made AC Valhalla and control stutter on me again. Never seen that happen since I first got my ps5 in February
-
I need to get a m.2 SSD someday
-
Finally Something good!
-
Has anyone tried the FPS boost that’s apparently part of this update? I saw something today that says there’s a performance setting somewhere and want to try it with ezio collection
-
Omg. Is Cyberpunk finally going to be good all of a sudden?
-
Does it? So much are Sony charging us for these improvements?
-
If this will fix the frame drops from RT Performance on Miles Morales, I’m sold
-
No update on the rest mode issue ?
-
Do you need to leave the little USB stick in your ps5 to use the pulse headphones
-
yes, it's what actually talks TO the headset, helps to get a usb extension cable, then you can get it away from the ps5 , or out from behind the tv to get longer ranges .
-
No, mine works without the stick
-
But can I put it in rest mode without it crashing?
-
I used to get crashes in rest mode until I began doing the following; whenever you are ready to go into rest mode, hold the PS button down so you get to the main OS menu (where you can select a game to play). Once there, press the PS button to load the quick menu and enter rest mode. For whatever reason, this has never crashed on me whereas if I just enter rest mode while still in a game, it happened to me numerous times.

Hey thanks for this will try it next time I play
-
Yes. I got my PS5 on the day of release, the only rest mode crash was before the very first firmware update when I was using my PS4's external HDD to play a PS4 game on the PS5. Hasn't happened since.
-
Yea I was in the same boat until recently. My crashes that I had with the launch firmware stopped up until about a month ago. Now it’s sporadic again
-
THIS! Never had it happen to me (haven't had it long either mind you) until this update and awoke the system from rest while playing a PS4 game from the newly installed SSD. Cue flicker and restart into the Blue Ring of Death. A system wipe later and I was able to play games again. Thanks for the anxiety attack Sony.
-
This was a nightmare while playing Returnal
-
It did not fix this for me
-
It started happening to me again since I've started playing deathloop. Hadn't happened in like 6 months before that
-
It was happening to me a lot when I was playing Metro Exodus. Then I was playing Ghost of Tsushima for a month or two and had no issues. Then I played Deathloop for the first time last night and had the rest mode green screen crash.
-
Wasn't something like this already posted? Did it get deleted?
-
Yes it was. It was Digital Foundry that discovered the boost and someone posted a link to their YouTube upload. I’m guessing it got brigaded which caused the auto mod to delete it. The same thing happened to one of my posts recently and the mods had to intervene.
-
I know which post you are talking about. Yes it got deleted because the title was wrong.
-
I just wanna change my controller LED colour…
-
Must be nice having a ps5
-
Hate to say it, but I honestly feel like I went with the wrong console this time... and I have ALWAYS hated XBOX. But they seem to have alot more going on as far as gamepass and backward compatibility. The only 3 reasons I opted for a ps5 was: 1. I've always owned playstations and loved them and always hated xbox controllers. 2. The dualsense. 3. Xbox has no interest in VR.
-
I mean, what are you looking for really? The reasons you mentioned for going with Playstation still hold true after all.
And on Xbox games are just now starting to come out whereas the PS5 had a solid launch lineup and a steady stream of games after that with much more to come.
That being said the Series X/S are great consoles. A far cry from the disaster that was the Xbox One launch. If you want to get rid off your PS5 I bet there are many people in line who'd gladly purchase it from you.
I'm just confused by your reasoning. Why does Xbox backwards compatibility matter to you as someone who is not invested in older Xbox consoles? And while Gamepass is a great deal I don't see what kind of next gen experience it is supposed to offer right now except for Flight Sim.
-
Honestly gamepass is overrated, there’s like a handful of good games which you can pick up cheap. It’s good value though, especially when a new release game is added.
FPS boost on previous gens was a solid move, I wish PS5 had it but at the same time I’d get little use out of it due to not being one to replay games (minus the soul series)
-
There are literally no games at all on ps plus or psnow. It's been the same cruel joke since ps3.
-
XB will be non-existent in the near future. Micro$oft is PUSHING to a Games-as-a-Service model where you use Windows 11 pc and a "client" to Pay a Monthly fee to Access the Games, Never actually owning them. They did it to Server, Then to MS office, This is the NEXT cash cow they try to Milk.
-
And it brings constant crashes when the console goes into rest mode with hard drive recoveries at the end.
-
No need to downvote. This is just my observation. Never had issues with rest mode before the firmware update. Now since firmware 2.0 my PS5 crashes just constantly every time it goes into rest mode.
-
Media folder and fixing inviting ps4 players to games is all I'm asking for
-
Does it stop my PS5 randomly crashing while in Rest Mode?
