- JRPG Eternal Radiance Launches This Week for PlayStation
-
After sleeping on JRPG's for so long I've now recently finished playing Tales of Arise (amazing game) and now Persona 5: Royal (absolutely incredible game), I'm so down for more JRPG's to launch on PlayStation! Such a great and fun genre.
ID: hs9uj3fID: hsbix1zHave to agree with this. Had a blast playing all four Cold Steel games last year.
ID: hs9a847Play Yakuza: Like A Dragon. It's amazing! Also (Yakuza) Judgement and Lost Judgement, but those two aren't JRPGs.
ID: hsahbbrI've tried multiple Yakuza games and I understand the appeal but they've never clicked with me but Like a Dragon took over my life, it was so fun. My terrible go-karting skills is the only thing keeping me from Platinuming it.
ID: hs988ekPlay dragon quest 11. It's everything youd ever want in a jrpg.
ID: hs9ftgcit seemed decent but I just couldn't get far into it because the soundtrack was horrible.
ID: hsa4s3mI love JRPGs but did not like DQ11, was the most generic JRPG id ever played and most of the cast was insufferable to me
ID: hsbgmkkEh, it's like a child's first RPG. It's incredibly generic by basically every measure and incredibly easy.
ID: hs990zzThe two listed here are two of the best of the last generation!
ID: hscneojArise is good but it's nowhere near the top two.
ID: hsbmdh7Arise was honestly pretty weak, I have no understanding as to what formula that game has that is so appealing to people that other tales game did not.
(I say this as someone who has plat'd every tales game and been a fan of the series for 2 decades, so just a tad confuse why people love it so much)
ID: hs9p20xFF7 remake is pretty great too if you haven't tried that. It was free on PS Plus awhile back, and the PS5 update to the game is excellent.
ID: hsa41xzOh boy you're in for a good treat, so many good jrpgs out there
ID: hsbi5vzOh man, welcome to JRPG fandom! There are so many for you to enjoy. If you liked Arise and Royal, I highly recommend Final Fantasy VII Remake.
ID: hscv7zhDragon Quest XI needs to be where you go next!
ID: hsd1wqcStill wondering on Arise.
ID: hsds1f3Holy shit are you me? Finally getting into Jrpgs after mostly ignoring them for 35+ years it’s like suddenly there’s a whole new world of games to play.
ID: hs9oo2lI keep trying to play Royal but I'm so tired of receiving text messages. Just let me play the game.
ID: hs9zjkpThat is the game

I love JRPGs but this looks so generic.
-
According to the listing on the store it releases tomorrow
-
It...looks very unfinished. Like, the landscape is so dry and lifeless. Has no real depth to it that makes it appealing. This also looks like a ps2 game. Not that those were bad but this is for next gen, baby! Gotta keep up with the times or just don’t bother lol
-
I like JRPG’s but holy shit they blur together.
Sadly I tried Legrand Legacy and that was straight up broken as hell.
-
Let me start by daying I love jrpgs, but this looks like Tales of Arise: dynasty warriors litarature club, with a bland environment as a downside
Ill keep my money till its atleast €20 for this, and buy Elden Ring
-
I know graphics aren’t everything for a video game but for a PS4/PS5 game this looks horrible.
-
The switch keeps on getting some good JRPGS
-
Looks decent to be honest but i'm really not a fan of the cutesy, chibi artstyles in JRPG's any more. Maybe i'm just getting old but I feel like these games should have a more polished, mature look with how in depth the stories can be, it just doesn't match up in my head.
-
Interesting. I might have to look into this!

Anime…ew
ID: hs9sj1wThat's pretty much all JRPGs are. Anime in video game form.

The Trails games are really good and all pretty extensive. Only problem there is that it's a bit of hurdle to get into if you want to experience all of them because their stories are all directly intersected. You could still start with the Trails of Cold Steel tetralogy and enjoy it for sure though.
