Kind of a small rant and the title speaks for itself. But i REALLY wish there was a review system on PSN. Dont get me wrong, i dont mind looking into the game slightly, but that would help

2 : Anonymous2022/01/15 15:09 ID: hsrteg9

They need to give us the option to create folders on the ps5 just like on the ps4. And also themes backgrounds

ID: hstp39z

themes are supposed to come with new update , along with VRR autoHDR etc... not sure if its legit leak or not tho.

People are criticizing the idea, but if Sony just directly copied the Steam review system that shows the source of your purchase (gift, direct purchase, subscription, etc.) along with your playtime both at review time and overall, I think it would be totally fine.

ID: hsru5md

totally agree with you. steam’s review system works just fine.

4 : Anonymous2022/01/15 12:18 ID: hsr9ym2

If psn allowed user reviews they would mostly be worthless anyway, people calling games a zero because it wasn't a 10 in they're eyes.

ID: hssy2hn

They just need to do what steam does, show play time, purchase date, review history etc. Steam reveiws are by far the most legit way to do it

ID: hss6tg1

To be fair that's the same as game reviewers. Games are about personal taste, one might like the challenge of a from soft game, one might like a JRPG and so the list can go on and on. A steam like system with possible a user played and liked this and that game would be of much bigger use.

The PSN store used to have star ratings for games. They did away with it around when the PS5 was released I think.

Honestly it was never reliable anyway. Better to just Google reviews and look at metacritic. I look at steam reviews if the game is also on that.

ID: hsr9ehb

They removed it not long after the PS4 launched

ID: hsranci

I’m pretty sure I could see the stars up until a couple years ago?

ID: hsraypj

Yea its just trash when im looking through deals and have to consistantly cross reference everything

ID: hsrbb7a

Oh yeah I know, tried doing that yesterday… super annoying.

But honestly the ratings hardly mattered. Either a bunch of bad games would have 4 and 5 stars anyway, or some decent games for some reason had 3 stars only.

It’s hard to correct reviews when some reviewers are idiots or use it incorrectly (like Amazon reviewers who rate something 1 star because UPS shipping sucked etc).

6 : Anonymous2022/01/15 11:59 ID: hsr8bq0

They should add a star rating system. I don’t think it would be a good idea to allow people to add comments. I’ve seen some toxic comments on Xbox’s reviews for certain games.

ID: hsra3xb

Yea thats what i mostly mean. Just to see how it felt. Id rather not dish out the money for something potentially shit tbh

ID: hsrewmt

They have this on PS4 but took it out on the ps5 for some reason

7 : Anonymous2022/01/15 16:37 ID: hss69na

Eh, it'd be fine but i'm ok. Takes 2 minutes to pick up my laptop/phone and open idk metacritic.

ID: hss6jzm

Thats where it hurts me, i have to do everything through mobile, if i had a pc

8 : Anonymous2022/01/15 12:24 ID: hsragu9

The internet exists.

I doubt I’d trust reviews in the store itself.

9 : Anonymous2022/01/15 14:30 ID: hsro7lr

Don’t think it’s a good idea, we have a lot, and I mean a lot of idiots in our fanbase, they would just 0 star everything because they didn’t get the game they wanted and refuse to give it a chance

10 : Anonymous2022/01/15 14:37 ID: hsrp6jn

I usually just use metacritic, Not the critic reviews though, I just go by the user reviews

11 : Anonymous2022/01/15 15:31 ID: hsrwgtg

It would suck to navigate and write reviews with a controller

ID: hsrwwim

Im thinkin more of steams wsy minus the writing. Mostly ratings on different aspects of the game, how many hours the person put in, etc.

ID: hsrx01o

A star count review system might work, but I feel it wouldn't be accurate

12 : Anonymous2022/01/15 16:26 ID: hss4hzt

Tbh i think the PS Store would benefit greatly if it had more QoL things like Steam, for instance the reviews, the tags, and being able to search by develope

13 : Anonymous2022/01/15 17:41 ID: hssg3fz

I agree. My Xbox One allows star ratings and written user reviews. It's almost never toxic 1-star spam and it seems most people leave genuine reviews. Wish PlayStation would implement the same thing. As of now, PS5 doesn't even have a 5-star review system let alone one where players can comment upon it.

14 : Anonymous2022/01/15 18:22 ID: hssmi3r

I’ve submitted feedback on 2 different occasions vouching for this… maybe they’ll listen if we keep pushing it. I strongly agree

15 : Anonymous2022/01/15 21:31 ID: hstf1ta

xbox has it, it's slightly hilarous

16 : Anonymous2022/01/15 21:59 ID: hstj67f

It’s weird. Ps4 does but not the 5 I think k.

17 : Anonymous2022/01/15 22:39 ID: hstoziz

Store is 15 years old code.. probably too hard to implement and also people would just troll 10 or 0 .

18 : Anonymous2022/01/15 12:01 ID: hsr8it9

What do you expect? There isn't even a wishlist or any function to keep track of interesting games.

ID: hsr92gx

There is both of those things lmao

PSN needs to allow you to buy games outside the PSN store because the prices are ridiculously high. At least in Europe. Over 100$ for a regular PS5 game. Like what the hell?

But then Sony wouldn't make as much money. So no.

ID: hsrope0

You can literally do that. The price margin on disc version games opposed to their psn store version is pretty crazy sometimes, and in favor for the buyer. Grateful I got the ps5 disc version, it’s really payed off.

ID: hsrowom

Disc, yes. I'm not talking about that. But that's the reason why I buy all PS games on disc.

Xbox let's you buy digital keys outside the store for cheaper. That's what I'm talking about.

20 : Anonymous2022/01/15 18:27 ID: hssnau4

There's a thing called searching up online

21 : Anonymous2022/01/15 17:36 ID: hssf8qv

I don't think Sony wants to get in the habit of discouraging people from spending money on their platform. Besides, review systems are fucking pointless, particularly with gaming sites.
