The title pretty much says it all. I just acquired a PS5 earlier this year and am trying to decide what games I should play and in what order. I haven’t owned a gaming system since the PS2 and so any game is in play, so to speak.
I have beaten both Miles Morales and FF7R so far. If you were me, what games should I play next and in what order? It doesn’t matter to me if it’s for the PS4 or PS5.

I recommend getting PS+ for the collection.

It’s free, and it just so happens to be quite possibly the best game from the last decade. (At least among the best games) Plus there’s a sequel coming out this year which is one of the most anticipated games coming out.

These have all been mentioned, but the games that really set Playstation apart are:
God of War (2018) The Last of Us (1 & 2) Uncharted (1-4) Horizon (Zero Dawn, Forbidden West) Ghost of Thushima Bloodborne (unfortunately this one hasn’t been optimized for PS5, so it feels a little dated)
You can’t go wrong with any of these, but the order above is in order of my personal favorites.
And if you had a PS1, you might really enjoy the Resident Evil 2 Remake and Final Fantasy 7 Remake. Both are fantastic, and bring the games up to modern standards.

Last of us 1-2, Horizon 1-2, GoW, GoT, Days Gone, FF7R... if you like RPG, Tales of Arise, Ys Dana and Monstrum Nox, Jedi Fallen Order, Get Cyberpunk cheap, The Witcher 3, Skyrim. So many games so little time.

You already started from my favourite game of all time- FF7 remake so that’s perfect. Definitely play The Last of Us 1 remastered and Last of Us 2 at 60 FPS on PS5. One of the best narratives in gaming history. Also check out the uncharted series- 1,2 and 3 may be a bit dated but you need to play them to fully enjoy Uncharted legacy of thieves collection which looks gorgeous by the way. As for new series, I recommend Guardians of the Galaxy is a must play. Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart- you might want to play the PS4 remake version first (titled Ratchet and Clank- I think it’s free either on PS now or PS plus). Ghost of Tsushima Director’s cut is another must play. And of course Horizon Zero dawn at 60 FPS followed by Horizon Forbidden West is a must have for any playstation players. I am sure forgetting some but this would be a good start. Once you are caught up, explore the RE series- there are lot of games you would have missed in that series.

Mass effect legendary edition is incredible value if you never played the series. Deathloop. PS+ collection have some must plays, specifically Bloodborne and The Last of Us. Doom Eternal, easily the best single player shooter of all time.

Destiny 2 looks a plays great on Ps5. Its a good mix of FPS/action/ rpg. It’s free and you can play in various multiplayer modes .

PS+ is required for online games and it comes with the very good collection if you are on PS5. You also get three games every month of varying quality, its pretty good value. I currently play Rocket League and few roguelikes: Hades, Dead Cells, can't play anything else currently since I'm way too pumped for Elden Ring. The wait really killed all my interest for other games. You can visit
for info. Not a game for everyone, but there is nothing that comes even close (IMO) in terms of lore and satisfaction that you get from discovering things and overcoming adversity. GRRM also was involved in the world building for that game. Edit. It's releasing 25 Feb, so next Friday. -
cyberpunk 2077 ps5 version, its like £20 at the moment...but has a free 5 hour trial to play .well worth it.

The best game to play first would be a game that comes installed on the PS5 for free called Astro's Playroom!
It's a fantastic showcase of the new system graphically and the controller capabilites, but also a celebration of everything PlayStation in the best, brightest possible way. You would have to be one cold SoB to not get any enjoyment out of it, and it should help hype you up for anything else you want to play that is PlayStation!

Persona 5, Last of US 1+2, Ratchet and Clank Rift apart (shows off the dualsense wonderfully), Ghost of Tsushima, God of War, Horizon Zero Dawn/Forbidden West, Death Stranded, Guardians of the Galaxy, and much more.
Personally the persona series is my fav PlayStation exclusive,if your into turn base JRPGs I highly recommend it.
