- Ghost of Tsushima 2 Speculations Fueled by New Job Listings
-
Well it’s obviously happening. Wouldn’t expect it until at least 2024.
ID: hz1p1ulID: hz1p44xI can wait, they’re gonna perfect this game.
ID: hz20f1xLooking at the time between infamous and ghost, 2024 seems optimistic 😀 tho obviously they can reuse more assets in the sequel
ID: hz2fjwxI’m pretty sure they pitched something else after infamous, which wasn’t taken up, hence the long time. So 2024 may be more feasible than it first appears.

This is the most no-brainer thing to be coming out in the future.
ID: hz29njhDid Ghost sell well? I loved it
ID: hz2bt88It sold extremely well, especially for a completely new IP.
I tend to be a bit more tepid towards open world games than most people but I loved Ghost and will prob get the sequel on day 1.
ID: hz2dvjw8 million in a year and a half. It sold very well.

Yeeeeees. There you go
-
Yes please!
-
Buzzing!!!!
-

-
Yes! Give me more!

Ghost of Twoshima

I'm all for a sequel to Ghost. It's one of my favourite games of all-time now. but what I don't understand is, Ghost is based on real life events but dramatised into video game format. Mongols really did try to invade Japan through Tsushima in the 1200s. so, what can they do for the sequel? make stuff up? or base it on another real life invasion? just wondering.
ID: hz21q3nThe Mongols invaded Japan in 1274 and 1281, the game was based on the 1274 invasion so they could do the 1281 invasion for the sequel but set in mainland Japan instead of Tsushima/Iki
ID: hz245jwThey could also fast-forward to the 1500s and switch the roles with Japan invading Korea & China.
ID: hz2lkayMainland.. with Tomoe, ghost of Kyoto
ID: hz22ekiMainland Japan would be so sick. I actually think Sucker Punch should consider doing the same thing, but for a different setting. for example, Jin is a Samurai. imagine they make a game about a Roman Soldier during the Roman Empire or Sparta, but with a different main characte
. just a random idea I've had. won't happen though.ID: hz2rmz1There's the main Mongol invasion of Japan at Hakata Bay in Fukuoka. That can be used as the background for the story. The secondary story is how Jin seeks revenge against the Shogunate for what happened at the end of the first game. The main secondary antagonist could be Hojo Tokimune, ruling regent of Japan at the time.
ID: hz2u2coThe ending sets up a sequel they can just continue the story of the first one.

Sly Cooper revival maybe ?
Sony said they are bringing back old IP
Could be it or not though
-
Awesome, first one was great.
-
Please for the love of all things good, please give us GoT 2!!!
-
If anything, that's what anyone would expect given the title massive success
-
Hope to God it does happen
-
I want another Sly Cooper
-
Hell yea
The first one was probably my favorite ps4 game of the last few years. I enjoyed the hell out of it.
-
Is it really speculation that one of the most successful new IPs in years is getting a sequel? We all know it's going to happen. Just a matter of when.
-
Obviously very excited for this like others, I'm not sure how else the story would continue, but I am interested to see what they come up with.
-
Bet we see the Shogun’s army. Will be awesome.
-
The second Mongol invasion did only occur 7 years later… it would make perfect sense, though it could end up being a little repetitive. Guess we’ll see!
-
Shut up and take my money
-
Hopefully they improve the repetitive side quest and world design.
ID: hz1txqznope, you'll have to pet 100 foxes now, because players loved it!
ID: hz1r6m0The actual aide quests were not repetitive, the story with the side characters. I feel like most people just went on a side activity spree. If you played it where you did a few main missions then some side missions then did a few side activist never doing the same side activity more than twice in a row it doesn't feel repetitive at all. Most people probably did like 5 foxes in a row then 4 bamboo strikes ect...
ID: hz22z9gYeah I think this was the case. I finished the game and did like 2 side missions throughout the game - and then I loved it so much I platinumed it so I had to go and bang out every side mission back to back to back.
It was definitely a little repetitive but, imo ,the gameplay was so fun that I just didn’t really care at all.
ID: hz1tu9hI thought the world side quests were pretty boring to be honest. Except for the mythical ones of course. The character side quests were amazing tho!
ID: hz1xb9vYeah the character side quests were good but the random ones around the world kinda sufked
ID: hz1x73eand world design.
imo the world was one of the most diverse open worlds in the genres history. they just need to give us more variety of activities in the world
ID: hz239g2I loved the game and the world, but I definitely wouldn't call it all that diverse
ID: hz32fjqIt really doesn’t. The same 3 activities are constantly repeated and so many of the icons on the maps are fucking Fox dens
ID: hz1vhnjIf you tried to say this at release, nobody would listen to you lmao
The story and presentation were fantastic, but so much of the game was very generic

Trash "journalism"
"Game Studio are hiring Combat Engineers", there is nothing here at all pointing to a Ghost of Tsushima sequel.
The only thing we can infer from these job listings are that Sucker Punch probably aren't making a racing game
ID: hz2aj1mNah, the actual job listing specificied they want a combat design who "played Ghost of Tsushima and has experience with combat and skills" (to paraphrase)
It's Ghost of Tsushima 2 lmfao

I don't think this is Ghost of Tsushima sequel. But I do think this is either a new inFamous game, Sly Cooper, or one of the IPs they were drafting before Ghost. Their ideas involved pirates, the three musketeers, and Rob Roy.
Both inFamous and Sly Cooper are rumored to be in development at Playstation, but it is unclear if either of them are being developed by Sucker Punch.
Sly Cooper was a Sucker Punch project until 2005 with Sly 3, where they shifted over to the inFamous series (and exclusively developed that series for Playstation). Meanwhile, Sly 4 was given to Sazaru with SP as a supervisor, though some of the elements of Sly 4 were from a planned title Sucker Punch had a long time ago, and would have introduced some connectivity with the PSP (eventually Sly 4 had Vita).
inFamous isn't really an abandoned IP outright since Sucker Punch like to work on a single project at a time instead of multiple, but they wanted to transition over to a new IP on the PS4 right after Second Son and First Light. Ghost was just a 6 year development cycle, that had a lot of care put into the game to make it feel alive. However Spider-Man itself is somewhat of a spiritual successor to inFamous in terms of being a superhero, but the process of picking and choosing between good and bad was carried over to Ghost.
SP is also constantly hiring for a multiplayer project, but it could be related to Tsushima Legends (or not). They are reportedly working with Bungie on something.
Either way, I wouldn't bank too much on Ghost of Tsushima to get a sequel. At the same time, I am leaning on the game to get a PC release within the next year or so.
ID: hz1y9swTsushima did insanely well and was very well received. Why would you “not bank” on a Tsushima sequel?

Where's the preorder button?
-
I can handle a sequel but I’m not sure there is enough here for a trilogy. Would like them to move on after this one.
