I was lucky enough to get PS5 during the holiday season at MSRP, but after Cyberpunk's buggy release I feel like I haven't found any other interesting game to play. Curious about what others are playing or looking forward to?
Edit: Well this got a whole lot more attention than I expected ! Thanks for the silver !! I hope we see bunch of good new games come out this year.

Just got PS5, been swapping between Hitman 3, Miles Morales and Control (which is like a whole new game coming from PS4).
Got Valhalla on deck and can not wait for Deathloop. Gonna hit infamous: Second Son again though to bring it full circle, still one of my all-time faves from PS4.

How is Control different on PS5? I've been meaning to pick it up but heard it can be buggy.

I've just received my PS5 this morning before work so I'm downloading everything and getting set up for this evening. It's exciting, even for an old codger like myself.
I'm thinking of a quick runthrough of Astro's Playroom given the praise I've seen on this sub, but I've also got Immortals Fenyx Rising, Bugsnax, and Days Gone lined up too. Any thoughts on those?
ID: gq9jzrcImmortals fenyx rising is really full it gets repetitive near the end like any Ubisoft game but I really had so much fun with it. Except for this bullshit puzzle at the end that made me almost delete and quit the game
ID: gqa6d43I just finished Days Gone, easily one of my favorite PlayStation exclusives. Be wary that it starts off slow - you'll spend a lot of time getting by with hand-crafted melee weapons and rationing your ammo before you really deck out your loadout and bike. Then it's a total blast.
It also has a mission that is one of my favorites of all time (Sawmill).

Playing 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim and GoT but I'm burnt out from GoT a bit too repetitive for me.
Loved Demon's Souls Remake, was my first entry into the Souls series so definitely keen on any possible upcoming Ps5 Souls games.
ID: gq98twiI didn't find GoT repetitive. But for me, I was just having open world fatigue. Taking a break from all open world games and play something more linear.

ID: gq9me3dI also found Ghost repetitive. It’s a beautiful game, the combat is fun, but ultimately every repetitive task outlived its welcome about a quarter of the way through. And the story was dull as nails.

So much Nioh 2. Absolutely fantastic game, actually prefer it to Demon Souls. Much more intricate gearing and combat systems. And just as horribly unforgiving. And frustrating. I love it so far! Still on NG, but getting close to the DLC.

Medieval remastered. It was my first ps1 game so it was fitting that I played it first again on my ps5.

Well, I just beat Spiderman ps4 again, but this is my first remastered playthrough, and I’m done the heist dlc and working my way through turf wars and eventually silver lining. I’m also playing gow after the 4k60 patch. After I beat those I want to play through ghost at 4k60, as I’ve only beat it once and barely got the platinum before my senior year of high school/dual enrollment in college started so I’ve been kind of busy with that lol. I’ve pre ordered ratchet and clank and am probably going to buy Kena bridge of spirits in the near future.

I just bought Yakuza like a Dragon since the ps5 upgrade dropped recently and its super addictive for some reason.
I've been down on turn based games for a long time now but P5R and Like a dragon both hooked me.

Just finished Persona 5 Strikers a few days ago then moved onto Lords of the Fallen which I finished a few hours ago. Not PS5 games obviously, but playing on my PS5 for the better performance (Persona is extremely sharp in graphics mode and the framerate never really falters on PS5 even in that mode.)
The main PS5 game I'm looking forward to in the immediate future is Scarlet Nexus as it's supposed to be out sometime this summer. Plenty of other games I am looking forward to as well like FF16 and Ghostwire Tokyo but those are further off.

I’m playing Mortal Shell right now. I’m a big Dark Souls fan and I’m pretty good at those games, and every other Souls like game comes fairly easy to me.
But this one, there’s something about it I suck at. Idk if it’s just getting used to the harden mechanic or something but I die more in this damn thing than Dark Souls for sure.
It is cool though. I beat the first big boss yesterday and coming back to the over world being totally different was an awesome surprise.

Yeah gaming is really dead right now in terms of good new releases, been this way since the beginning of 2021. The closest upcoming game that actually looks good to me is NieR Replicant

Currently playing Control. I've only played for 2-3 hours but so far I'm having a blast. 60 fps is incredible and the graphics are really good. Just feels nice to play a game that's different.
ID: gq9z96rI do not know your skill level in games but I personally found control a little difficult lol, do the side missions get those upgrade points. I couldn't beat it on ps4 but I finally beat it on ps5, definitely a different but welcome game, reminded me of the matrix

Destiny 2 is so glorious on PS5, and this season is pretty good too. I was looking forward to Avengers but now with the XP fiasco, I’ll probably play though Hawkeye’s new story parts, check out the 4K update for a bit and then just delete it lol.
Might dip back into Valhalla but Control is next on the list to play though, with Deathloop too.

Destiny 2. A lot. The PS5 loading times and smooth 60-120fps in 4K really make a difference to how the game plays. I wish they would add trigger haptics but I guess most people would probably turn them off anyway.

Mostly Ghost of Tsushima. Sadly I have beaten most of my games so even though the better performance is great its not enough for me to replay them. Looking forward to FF7 DLC and patch, God of War Ragnarok, Elden Ring, and Sun Wukong even though that’s a ways away

To me it was worth it just to have better performance in PS4 titles. I'm currently playing through Ghost of Tsushima and it is absolutely beautiful while rocking a locked 60fps in high resolution mode. I really enjoyed playing through Astro's Playroom (the only PS5 title I have completed so far - it hooked me instantly, such a charming game). I am also working through Miles Morales and Demon's Souls. On top of all of that, is my gaming addiction, Destiny 2 which I've moved from maining on PC to PS5.

Just finished up Concrete Genie. Currently playing Maquette and a few indie games from the sale. Slay the Spire, Untitled Goose Game and Fell Seal: Arbiters Mark. Also tried the Outriders demo. Seems fun, may grab it down the line.
Next game I'm really waiting for is Returnal. Until then just finishing up backlog and older games and waiting for some games to price drop.

Besides the freebies picked up Division 2 and MK 11 since they were on sale for cheap and had PS5 patches. Enjoying Division 2. It was worth the sale price. MK 11 got old quick.

I’m playing some of the PS+ collection and I also bought GoT because I don’t think it will receive further PS5 improvements. Right now I’m playing TLoU to get a feel for gaming again and then I plan to play GoT and god of war. Maybe also Uncharted 4 down the line but I’m not sure if I should play the first 3 uncharted games before hand. I’d like to play TLoU2 but I’ll probably wait for a PS5 version since the PS4 version is pretty close to MSRP used and I don’t have any real PS5 games yet.

Can't wait to replay FF7R on hard mode and 60fps. The Yuffie dlc looks awesome too.

Yeah, for all the people with FOMO... you are not missing much. Take a look in the thread with what everyone is playing, heh...
After playing a few launch games the only thing left is games from ps4 with higher FPS.
It’s going to be awhile before the 5 comes into its own.
This is for the players with a 4 and played a large portion of their library already, of course if you missed the 4 you will have the most perfect time.
