ID: gq7cqs0just a question has any game actually utilised this hardware yet because I keep hearing games having 3d audio and it was stated that it would far superior to Dolby atoms. so has any game used the hardware yet or do we have to wait it longer to see it in action.

Seemingly Sony have put a lot of effort into developing their 3D audio engine, so it baffles me even more how the configuration of 3D audio on the PS5 itself is nothing else but an audio profile selection without any real explanation. There should be a full fledged configuration software where you can test out the profiles, listen to different audio samples from every direction, watch different clips from games that help you map the environment in which the sound is heard, or whatever. Instead, we have this allegedly very advanced 3D audio engine with barely any configuration option buried deep in the settings menu.

It definitely helps me catch people trying to flank behind me in online shooters. And 120 fps let’s me turn to blow their heads off even faster. Never been so good at Cod as now.

I have a Sony MDR-1000X wireless noise cancelling headset that came with a 3.5 mm jack cable. Will I get full 3D audio by plugging the cable into my controller?

Makes it easier basically. More of a Drag and Drop solution than applying your own HRTF
