So far I have bloodborne and demon souls, I know I need dark souls 1-3. Are there any other souls like games that I need?
-
Sekiro is the other one made by Fromsoft, I'd definitely recommend it.
ID: gtd9x6hID: gtdivgtDon't let that game and it's hype fool you. It's the steepest learning curve, but eventually becomes the easiest souls game.
-
Seemingly unpopular opinion, but I enjoyed The Surge 1&2. Platinumed both and had a blast doing it.
-
Nioh series is probably the thing you should play after all of From's games. It's different but has Souls influences. Good games.
ID: gtddzcqYessir added it to my list
-
Salt and sanctuary is a sick 2d souls game
ID: gteazx3Might as well throw Hollow Knight in there too. Has many Souls-like elements.
-
Code Vein is basically anime souls, has a lot of the same mechanics and also published by bandai.
-
Sekiro
Nioh 1 & 2
The Surge 1 & 2
Mortal Shell
That should keep you busy until Elden Ring comes out. Also For Honor is alot of fun. It has a unique and surprisingly deep combat system.
Edit: Remnant is supposedly souls-like as well. Also, Monster Hunter World
ID: gtda07jI appreciate the list, I heard about mortal shell didn't know if it was good
ID: gtda871It's short (about 10 hours to 100%) but a very good clone
ID: gtda3h6I haven't tried it yet but definitely plan to soon.
ID: gtdaan1Jedi: Fallen Order also has some very strong souls influences.
ID: gtdajw7I've actually played that game, it was decent.
ID: gtdgmwdIt's also on sale on PSN right now, $25 for the "deluxe edition"
ID: gtdin9cIs Mortal shell any good? It looks great, but also kinda empty looking in comparison to souls.
ID: gtdvs4tThe surge 2 is legit very very good, story is meh but great equipment system
ID: gtdfiinDon’t miss out on Ashen and Hellpoint, both with online co-op.
-
Nioh 1 and 2 remastered for sure. I finished nioh 1 the other day and just started nioh 2. Playing them in 4k 60 fps is amazing. Or even 120 fps if you rather that. Mortal shell reminds me of dark souls a lot.
ID: gte8saeNioh 2 is so fucking good. Enjoy
(1 is good also, but 2 improves on it in every single way, which you may have already heard)
-
Hollow knight.
-
Hollow Knight is an absolute must play. In my opinion, none of the other major Souls-likes (Nioh, The Surge, that Star Wars game, Lords of the Fallen) come close to approaching the feel of the souls series. HK nails the tone and atmosphere
ID: gtduzv8HK nails it. I see what you did here. I "dig" it.
-
if you like FromSoft games, Sekiro is your next logical step. game is amazing
ID: gtdd90gThat is definitely at the top of my list once I get the dark souls games.
ID: gtddb9rhell yeah brother, enjoy ⚔️
ID: gtdg7fpDemon souls and Sekiro will ruin all of the dark souls games for you unfortunately. Gotta play sekiro last imo.
ID: gtdurakDemons Souls and Sekiro are incredible but they definitely don’t come close to ruining Bloodborne haha that game is a masterpiece
-
Definitely check out Shadow Tower if you like PS1 gems.
-
Remnant From the Ashes feels like a gun version. Imperative you play woth friends, it is tough in all the right ways!
-
Sekiro
Nioh 1 & 2 (Samurai Souls like, superb games)
Remnant from the ashes (if you have ps plus grab it now, its free until next week)(its an awesome game, shooter souls like)
Mortal Shell (amazing indie Souls like, has some cool original mechanic)
Surge 1 & 2 (Futuristic sci-fi souls like)
Hellpoint (Sci-fi Souls like, future alien kinda setting)
Lords of the Fallen (Same devs as Surge, its almost a cult classic)
Ashen (dark souls lite its called, its like if zelda/journey/darksouls had a baby)
Chronos before the ashes (more puzzles and lore, simple combat)(prequel to Remnant but more short and simple)
Code Vein (anime souls like) there's a demo
Necropolis (this is a Rouge like game first, but it has a souls like combat and feeling, wait for sale)
Immortal: Unchained ( I HAVEN'T PLAYED THIS) ( still its a shooter souls like indie game, its seems to have a small fan base)
2d games:
Titan Souls
Salt and Sanctuary ( very good)
Hallow knight (more castlevania like, but recommend its great game)
ID: gtehupcnothing to add there I think u got em all sadly I played all of those except chronos...
-
Just because I haven't seen it recommended, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order has soulslike elements.
ID: gtdalbpI've played it but appreciate the recommendation.
-
I’m not necessarily recommending it but Lords of the Fallen is a Dark Souls clone.
-
Nioh
-
Knack?
-
I have all Soulslike games that are on PS4 and PS5... all installed on my PS4... feel free to dm me and I’ll send you the screengrab of all the games.. it’s easier than typing it all out
-
Ensure you play all the From Software ones first. None of the other devs come close to their greatness in thjs genre they created.

Top 10 Best Soulslikes (not developed by From Software) by IGN
-
I really liked Ashen. Probs best with a friend, but I liked the artwork and the whole atmosphere was cool. Not overly difficult I would say though
ID: gtdfqv4Ashen is really good. My favorite soulslike after the FROM software games and Nioh.
ID: gtdgvjoI wish they would give us an 60fps patch for the PS5.
ID: gtddma1Just saw some gameplay of it, will definitely add it to my list
-
Lords of the Fallen
-
Play the Dark Souls trilogy before worrying about others. Also Sekiro. All of them are great games and the best games in their genre no doubt.
ID: gtdhuo8So save demon souls, sekiro and bloodborne for after the trilogy?
ID: gteevpaI don’t think it matters at all when you play BB, Demon’s Souls or Sekiro. Honestly you can play the souls games in any order you like, it’s not like anyone really understands the story on their first play through anyway
-
No, just this 5. Then you have all original souls games. Sekiro is mentionable and also good, but not a souls like.
-
Is dark souls 2 any good or is it even worth it?
-
Dark Souls 2 splits the community a lot. I like the game a lot and would recommend it. But I would actually play in this order 1, 3 and then 2.
1 for obvious reasons first because it is the original with the lore and epic world design.
3 because it is a Hommage to 1 and many weapons, armors and locations remember you of it.
At last 2 because the story isn't connected to them.
-
Well even From's "worst" games are still better than a lot of stuff out there so I'd say yes.
-
DS2 might be the black sheep of the Souls series, but it's still a fantastic game in its own right. If you like Demon's Souls, definitely get it. DS2 is a little rough around the edges but it's got a ton of build variety and different magic strats.
-
It’s the worst FromSoft souls game, but that still makes it better than any of the other non-FromSoft souls-like games, IMO
-
Remnant From The Ashes counts I believe and is the only Souls like game I enjoy.
-
If you want to play the games that were “souls like” before demons souls or dark souls were even in development, get the ninja gaiden trilogy collection thats coming to ps4 in june. 4k 60 fps on ps5.
-
I never played Ninja Gaiden, will add this to my list as well.
-
If you have an Xbox360 or Xbox One get the original NGB, NGII and Razors Edge. The Sigma versions have worse ai, cheap difficulty, less gore and worse pacing. The original director had no involvement.
-
I remember playing on the OG Xbox as a kid and it being maddeningly difficult but as I got older it definitely became more manageable. Still really fun I replay them still and the 4k upgrade will be nice.
-
I believe it's the gameplay mechanics from the fromsoft games also the hard boss fights, managing stamina and health, playing strategic or aggressive etc, that's my guess.
-
Some really good 2d souls like games are Salt and Sanctuary and Dark Devotion
-
Sekiro Shadows Die Twice
-
Monster Hunter World!
-
I believe that is included with the ps collection, ill check it out
-
Mind you, it's not actually considered a souls type game but there are similarities

I'll check it out forsure
