- Godfall: We are excited to announce that we are working toward implementing matchmaking
-
I hope they implement PS+ and I'll give it a shot.
ID: gtpxijnID: gtq0wvsI'd be in at $20 if it didn't hit plus yet.
ID: gtr81kvI mean, sure, but the game was priced at $70. People don't rate games in a vacuum while ignoring pricing. Someone could release an amazing game, but it would get shit reviews from people if it cost $150.
You have much higher expectations of something you paid $70 for than something you paid $20 for.
I'll probably play it if I manage to grab it for cheap X months from now after they finish updating it. It might be a decent game then. But at full price, I'd rather just get something else.
ID: gtqgrjnlet's think about this. you don't understand the hate but then you say it's worth it for a price that it has literally never came close to. i will let you think about what you've said. on top of probably getting it for free for xmas so your money was never on the line
ID: gtr2s70The adaptive trigger and haptic feedback implementation with the shield and 1H weapon makes me even more excited for the God of War sequel. You’re right though, Godfall isn’t as bad as it’s made about to be. Sure, it’s pretty linear — it’s just hallways filled with things for you to fuck up. But I have to admit I spent a LOT of time fucking up every possible vase, flower pot, etc. possible because of how satisfying it felt to do so.
ID: gtpostvHa. About where I’m at.
ID: gtpyuoxThis, I'll 100% play it then, but not going to buy it even when discounted.

This feels a bit late...I mean, the game has already lost its relevance, and what's there wasn't very interesting to begin with. The story and campaign were clearly cut down, and are lacking much of what the developers originally promised.
Plus, the game is still always online, even in single-player. The developers of this game should've realized not everyone has a perfect internet connection at this point. It's why no one likes the idea of an always online console...I guess the Godfall devs didn't get the memo on that one though.
ID: gtq19fdPlus, the game is still always online, even in single-player.
Yup. I never buy these types of games.
ID: gtpczvothe game has already lost its relevance
It doesn't need to maintain relevance because it's not intended to be GaaS. Like Outriders, it's not a game that's randomly going to die because it's not being played by enough people; player retention isn't on their priority list. And, as it stands, Godfall has a decent following.
The story and campaign were clearly cut down, and are lacking much of what the developers originally promised.
Eh.. Hard disagree. They promised a fair-length campaign and endgame activities afterwards, all of which were disclosed in some level of detail before the game launched. I think it's pretty safe to say that they supplied everything they wanted to, initially.
For what it is, and made by a studio that size, it's actually pretty good. It's not a long game and it's not going to keep players addicted for thousands of hours, but.. not every game is designed with that in mind. I played it for 40-50 hours, beat the campaign, unlocked all the valorplates and did some endgame grinding and I was pretty satisfied by the end.
I'll probably pick it up again if it's on PS+ or a sale sees a significant reduction in price, to play it again on PS5.
is basically Camelot - it's a silly place with weird hate boners. Man, someone enjoyed a game you don't like? Fucking wild, mangID: gtpthpeAs someone who loves every aspect of this games core (action, loot, micro souls like, etc) I really didn’t enjoy it much at all for the 7 hours I played it. It has everything I like, but it just wasn’t interesting at all, none of it. It’s the most generic I’ve played in a while with in enjoyable mechanics. The only thing it had going for it was the graphics, which were good, but also generic.
This was a launch game rushed out cashgrab at $70+, and nothing more.
You can’t wait ‘I t was pretty good for a small team of developers’ when it was released as a full priced title. No one I’ve seen has loved the game, and even the few that are defending it always have their gripes about it.
It’s just one of those games that will be a completely forgettable launch title that no one will ever remember.

ID: gtpgtx1Play it again on PS5? What console did you play it on originally?
ID: gtq1kvfAlways online even for single player is reason enough not to buy the game. It just means that the game I paid for will be unplayable in a few years, and screw that. There are exactly ZERO consumer friendly reasons that this game needs to be always online to play single player.
Good money says this game goes free to play eventually.

Sounds like it's going to be included with the expansion which is kind of disappointing. I hope the player base will still be plentiful enough by that time to even properly utilize matchmaking.
ID: gtq606bI'm guessing the month the expansion releases (or maybe the month prior) the base game is free for PS+, in order to get an influx of new players eager to maybe pay for the expansion.
-
Way too late. How does an online only game not have matchmaking from the start?
ID: gtpsp3rBetter yet, how can a developer think they're being smart making an online only game, despite the whole Xbox One debacle being about how horrible always online is?
ID: gtq3s3jDiablo 3, online only game, sold over 30 million copies despite controversies.
Fortnite, Online only game, one of the most played games of all time and money made from a company.
Overwatch, POE, Warzone, Apex, Dota 2, LoL etc.
Outside of reddit opinion, online only games are some of the most popular games, as a matter of fact in modern day, they're the most played games.
The vast majority of people who play video games, do so with a constant broadband connection.

God jeez how nice it would be if studios released games when they where finished
-
Oh yeah. Godfall is a game that exists.
ID: gtpzkuqNot for long, probably.
-
By the end of the year, this will be given as a ps+ game 100%
-
When will they implement a game worth playing?
-
RIP.
-
I got this game for 8.59$ and even then it’s awful. On the hardest difficulty nothing is a challenge, the bosses are so easy. The world is empty, you can run pass most enemies and ignore them. It has zero story, and even the graphics though look great gets old since the game sucks. There is zero reason to play this game, even free.
-
Dead game
-
Talk to me when they implement a map and a better save system. I was fine with most everything else.
-
Lmao what a joke
-
WOOOOOW... might have been tricked into buying this steaming piece of poop if this was last October and my PS5 preorder was in
-
This game is godawful
ID: gtq1fy1What didn't you like about it? I liked it. Not the best game ever but it was enjoyable and a fun experience. The story isn't special but the environments and gameplay are what I enjoyed. I'm really looking forward to the expansion.
ID: gtqz9i8It's shit
ID: gtqe8h5For me it’s the price point, from what I’ve seen it’s something I’d only try for like $20ish
-
Great news! I really enjoyed the game. I'm looking forward to the expansion and hopefully with matchmaking the game will get a bit more attention.
-
Wow! Only 6 months later, huh?
-
PSNow or PS+ game when? I forgot this game existed
ID: gtps0xsPS Now probably never... There is no PS5 games there and PS4 games that have PS5 upgrades don't apply in PS Now.
I think it's gonna be in PS+ around same time when paid expansion/dlc comes out.
-
Should really help the three people who still play (or even remember) this game get together for matches.
-
Only half a year late...
-
I bought it day 1 and at this point they should probably move on to their next game and use the knowledge gained from Godfall. Feels a bit late and bad considering that the interest (possibly) wont be too high.
ID: gtq1j6lThey promised an expansion so that needs to happen first.
-
work toward implementing F2P cause thats the only way id ever go near this

I got it for Christmas and it honestly isn’t as bad as people are making it out to be. Definitely worth playing if you see it under $20 or if it’s a PS+ game.
