The message:

It's hard to believe it's already been a year since we released FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE, and harder still to think that some players almost didn't get their copy of the game due to lockdowns across the globe. However, we're lucky to live in an age that allows us to download our games, so many of you were able to play the digital version with no problems. To all those who have enjoyed our game in either its physical or digital format: thank you.

On June 10th, we’ll release FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE INTERGRADE, an upgraded version of the game that has been optimized for the PlayStation®5 and includes a new episode starring Yuffie. We can't wait to show you how we’ve made Midgar even more impressive and what Wutai’s most spirited ninja is bringing to REMAKE.

Game was already stunning on my base PS4 can’t wait to see what the sequel will bring us and really excited to play the DLC in a couple of months.

Wonder which will we get first FFVII remake sequel or FF XVI. Either way between these two titles and forspoken SE is already on a roll this gen. Also excited for KIngdom Hearts anniversary next year and hope they have something good to announce.

16 first probably since it's been in development for 4-5 years already. Doubt the ff7r2 graphics will look any different than ff7r integrade since they'll want to maintain graphical fidelity moving forward plus it'll be faster to produce.

Well... that depends. Ffviir2 will most likely be using UE5. That's supposed to release this year. More than likely they will port the assets over and then touch up the assets. So at worst ffviir2 will look just like intergrade but more than likely it will be better looking.

I’ll just be excited if they can improve the graphical fidelity of things around the characters. Textures and whatnot. Other than that the game was insane in the graphics department.

Original ff7 was my first jrpg. I loved every second of it. Made me play all up to ff9 but finished only 3,4,5,7,8. Made it to half of 6 and 9. And finished 15 few weeks ago. Still have ff7 remake to play after witcher 3.

I'm playing the original on my ps1digital / xloader modded ps1 right now. I'm waiting to play the remake until the ps5 update drops. Been waiting all this time to play it as I knew the whole remake wouldn't land on the ps4. Hope it was worth the wait.

I've seen quite a lot of people say that they actually PREFER it to the original, which is amazing. I was cynically expecting people to be disappointed tbh. A remake of one of the most beloved games of all time. I'm very glad to be proven wrong and can't wait to get it myself

I don’t prefer it to the original just yet because I don’t know how the complete story is going to play out. Nevertheless, I loved Part 1, waiting for Intergrade + Yuffie DLC and excited for future parts.

You'll definitely enjoy it. I personally think they did an incredible job, really knocked it out of the park. The only slight criticism I had is the end of part one. I won't spoil anything, the part that bugs me isn't in the original game and is added for the remake. But the package as a whole more than makes up for that, it's incredible!

No point comparing to the entirety of the original. Polls have shown original Midgar vs remake Midgar is 70-30 in favor of the remake.

Is it perfect? No ffviir isn't perfect however neither is the og. So with that in mind I prefer the remake. Loved nearly everything about it. The interactions, the banter, the animations, how well the world felt alive. Hell I even loved the time wasting question because it established the fact that he was a mercenary for hire. And how doing those quests actually changed up the dialogue of all the npcs.

Not to mention the music is phenomenal. As well as the combat system.

I'm honestly looking forward to the rest of the series.

Word of warning this game is not really for purists. You need to be OK with change, with taking risks. Cause this is not a 1:1 remake. This is nearly am alternate tale type of remake. A lot of things are similar but a lot of things play out very differently. You really need to go into this with an open mind like you did back with the original game.

I honestly never really cared for original ff7 I was a much bigger fan of ff6, 8 and 10 and this remake showed how special this game is and it's one of my favorites now

Play Normal mode now and play hard mode on PS5. the story is 40-50 hours long.

Nah.

Are they still keeping Ps Plus copies from being updated? Is there any upgrade path that we can pay for?

Yeah buy the game on PS4
