I don't have one yet myself. Just curious about peoples thoughts so far.
-
Demon's Souls, no doubt
ID: gvi6ld0ID: gvhrpewMiles Morales with 4k, 60 fps and ray tracing was impressive. Returnal looks sick as well.
ID: gvhs9etYes I agree, it was Miles Morales for me as well. Even though I don’t really like marvel that game was good. Returnal isn’t really my thing. Hoping for a solid release of the second Horizon game later this year.
ID: gviqyc0Yes, this one for sure. It looks amazing, no doubt, but the load times are just next level. I wouldn’t ever have thought we’d get such amazing graphics loading this fast, but here we are and it feels so next gen.
-
Definitely Demon's souls. The graphics, loading speed, use of haptic feedback. It was all incredible
I think Returnal is about to step it up a notch next week
-
Just switching any game to 60 fps changes everything to me. The characters just pop more
ID: gvi9ar3Control at 60fps feels like a different game. It's so good.
ID: gvi31q5Ghost of Tsushima in back compatibility feels way more next gen than PS5 native AC Valhalla.
ID: gvi9xmoPretty much.
Played more of the likes of Days Gone, God of War and Until Dawn when I first picked up the console than anything else, glad I specifically waited for the PS5 upgrade before I started Yakuza Like a Dragon too.
Playing Ghost of Tsushima for the first time at the moment and I can't even imagine how janky and off-putting this would have felt last gen.
Glad that the industry is finally starting to cotton on that performance > graphics for many, many of us by making this more of the norm.
ID: gvie5qtI think 60 fps makes for a lot of impressive “small” moments. It’s like you belong in the place, can’t really describe it but it makes for much better visuals wherever
-
Mile Morales with RT on and Demon's Souls felt a step up for me.
-
Demon's Souls
-
balan wonderworld
ID: gvhrnlyHe said Next Gen, not Next Next Gen. Way ahead of its time.
ID: gvhtymrMy feelings right now
-
Miles Morales. Loads in seconds. Far quicker than anything else I've seen. Also looks absolutely incredible. Maybe returnal might have a chance. But say Rachet and Clank will be next. Demon souls looks to be one too but haven't played it as I haven't got the patience
-
Demon's Souls
-
Astro, Demon's Souls, and Miles Morales all honestly felt next-gen to me.
-
Demons Souls is definitely next gen. It doesn't even have ray tracing (or need it for that matter) and it's one of the best looking games I've ever played. It uses the Dualsense pretty decently too, and the audio is top notch.
Spider-Man Miles Morales is good too, the fact I can have Ray tracing and 60fps at the same time is pretty next gen.
-
Demon‘s Souls, 100%. And Astro‘s Playroom of course.
-
Ask us next week when The Returnal comes out
ID: gvi54wcIs it considered to be a launch game though?
ID: gvi96hpNext week it will be launched, which is what they asked.
-
Spiderman runs at Dynamic 4K60 w/Ray Tracing. Other than that, none that i played so far.
ID: gvi5s18Dynamic 1440p
ID: gvim2v7If we’re talking about Miles Morales, it’s dynamic 4K/60p or 4K/30fps with ray tracing. Dunno about the remastered one.
-
Launched I've played? Not yet.. but I'm excited for this Battlefield 6 update!!!
-
Miles and demons souls
-
At launch demon's souls and astro's playroom. Post launch updates? Spiderman MM and spiderman remastered can be added.
Demon's souls is just a beauty to behold. Graphics alone are still not matched imo. It is one of the best looking next gen titles. Then it's ridiculously fast load times.
Astro's playroom is on here precisely due to its gameplay. It's gameplay alone is next gen. With how much it uses all of the dualsense's features it's insane. And there isn't a game quite like it. And then the stupidly fast loads coupled with its higher end budget graphics.
Since post launch the spiderman games are insane. They are pretty much the complete package and honestly should be the standard. Performance mode, raytracing aka fidelity mode and then Performance raytracing.
Performance RT is just insane and is a fantastic middle ground. Personally playing spiderman without RT is just not a next gen feeling. 60fps is all well and good but well it's alright at best. And there are people who won't even touch RT mode since it's not 60fps. So a fantastic middle ground was able to be achieved and its just fantastic.
-
Miles Morales
there’s not specific games that look insane, it’s how fast stuff loads that I was already playing on PS4
-
not really, but the closest is miles morales so far
-
Astros Playroom That game felt 100% next gen to me.
-
Returnal
-
Right now demon souls is the only real PS5 game
-
None because there are no next gen games yet.
-
Booting up Control or Spiderman and stating to play in like 20 seconds or so usually does it for me.
Gameplay wise, nope, nothing yet. Astro's playroom is awesome though.
-
Every game that runs in 4k 60fps are next gen , dont understand people saying that there are no next gen game yet what arr they excepting for "next gen game", like 8k 120fps with ray tracing?
ID: gvikq1oIt’s all COD players that haven’t tried Demon’s Souls, MM, or Astro’s Playroom
-
Definitely not Miles. That $50 5 hour dlc.
And before I could get excited over next gen features like ray-tracing, 4k, 60fps, fast loading I need a good base game that's worth the money.
I enjoyed demon souls but even that wasn't really a big leap to me. I'm not the biggest souls fan though. They're alright. That said I actually liked Devil May Cry 5 Special edition out of all the launch games. Instant loading. Mostly no framerate dips (unless you get real crazy). Playable Virgil was astounding. That said no new missions, one extra boss, kinda reeled in my excitement.
Returnal seems like the premier next gen game we'll have for awhile, but we'll see.
ID: gvi31zsWith how quickly Miles goes from a cold-boot straight to the game, 4K 60 + RT absolutely is something that couldn't be done on PS4 or PRO.
Felt very next-gen to me.
ID: gvhwdg9Was there a PS5 upgrade for the regular Spider-Man game, and did you try it?
-
Bugsnax. No other game truly shows what the PS5 is capable of.
ID: gvi32vxSuch an overrated game.
-
They all look good of course, but so did games like GoT and Death Stranding on a Pro. The main upgrade otherwise is in the controller, and so far only Astro's Playroom and NMS have impressed me. COD has some weight to iron sights which is kind of cool, too. But Watch Dogs Legion, Borderlands 3, and AC Valhalla have been unimpressive (edit: from a "next gen" controller standpoint, not bad games necessarily). Haven't tried anything else yet.
-
Demon Souls and Miles Morales. Nioh 2 with update looks pretty impressive for what it is. People let their eyes play tricks on them, if you really look at these games graphically the fidelity just pops, if you look at them just as a rolling picture youll trick yourself into thinking thy look like last Gen games. Of course you have outliers like RDR2, Tlou 2, Ghost of T, those few games tht just looked next Gen.
-
Miles Morales. The amount of detail in the city is insane.
-
Astro's Playroom primarily because of the haptic feedback with the Dualsense. There are elements in game that utilize it in ways that make your mind run wild with thoughts of how it could be used in other games. I instantly thought of using the climbing mechanic in an Uncharted game and to me that would be awesome.
-
Miles Morales is close, but not quite there. I think Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart will scream next gen though.

Demon’s for visuals and audio, Astro for controller possibilities.
