I almost pulled the trigger yesterday, it seems an amazing game to scratch my SoulsBorne itch
ID: gw6hikqID: gw6qdeiThe remastered bundle is one of the best purchases iv made.
I ended up liking these games more than any of the dark souls / demons souls games which I never expected watching the trailers / reviews.
ID: gw6hp4kIt's fantastic. The first one was great and the second one basically just improved on it in every aspect. Reminds me that I still need to go back and play the third piece of DLC for Nioh 2.
ID: gw74wbtDo it! It's the best of the 3 dlcs! Way of the nioh + the abyss + a super cool final boss/ending that enhances the main story so much
ID: gw6hx3rDo it! Fantastic game and the sequel is even better imo. I have over 200 hours in Nioh 2.
ID: gw6yvzrDon’t I love souls games but I just couldn’t vibe with this game.
ID: gw8fovqSeriously! What did you not like about the game?
ID: gw7qfdtIt has a slow start, it took me till the 3rd (including tutorial) caves to even enjoy the game at all (well I liked the tutorial some), and that was mainly cuz I started to understand how to do stuff like iaido sword draws and stuff.
Then by the time I get to like castle sieges and wars and stuff in the history of japan, and started to learn about characters and historical stories with a myth twist, I started to like it, by the time I was done with the base game and going into the dlc, I was in love.
For me:
Nioh > Dark Souls 3 > Bloodborne >> Dark Souls > The Surge >>>>> Dark Souls 2 > Sinner: Sacrifice for Redemption.
Haven't played Nioh 2, Demon's Souls, Lords of the Fallen (never will), Darksiders 3, Code Vein, Mortal Shell, or Sekiro yet. Also still need to buy the dlc for dark souls 3 (have a end of game character who beat the final boss cuz it doesn't rush you into ng+, waiting for years for me to finally buy the dlc on sale 😛 )
ID: gw7fi76I think nioh 1 is ok but not great Nioh 2 however is absolutely amazing
ID: gw87is9I wish I could get into these games but they are TOOOO DIFFICULT for me I have limited time to play games and I don’t like repeating entire sections after dying
ID: gw6jyelthey're definitely not as good as a soulsborne game or sekiro, but they are probably my favorite soulslikes (in my opinion)
ID: gw6yaqaFor me they are better than the soulsborne games. The combat depth/complexity, the loot and crafting just hit it off with me personally. But we're all different. Nioh 1+2 are my favorite games in decades.
ID: gw6kc4vI'd put them above DS2, but just slightly below the rest. Like really slightly, might actually put Nioh 2 above the original DS from a strictly enjoyment perspective.
Edit: Here come the downvotes, I offended the Dark Souls die-hards lol
ID: gw6ye7zHave you played the surge 1&2
ID: gw7pqinDisagree, haven't played sekiro but I liked this more than the souls games, bloodborne, and the surge.
ID: gw6yauuGet the second one, the first one doesn't have enough enemy variety
ID: gw7po2kI still liked it more than dark souls 1, 3, and bloodborne, let alone stuff like dks2, the surge, etc.
ID: gw7hj3qFor the price, the N1/2 remaster combo will get you a lot of play time.
ID: gw7ozk1I would especially suggest it if you have someone to play co-op with. The co-op system is much more streamlined than Dark Souls, which is inhibited by design.
ID: gw7pjcyI like it more than any other souls-like I've played. You won't feel that way instantly though, it's when you learn how to do attacks like iaido draws and stuff with different weapons, can ki pulse accurately, switch stances around, and get into the story that it REALLY clicks.
The late game and the dlc are exceptional as well. Once it hits, it hits hard.

Hopefully they're working on a Nioh 3 for the PS5. Would be really interested to see how they could incorporate features like haptics in.
ID: gw6hlllDon't think so. Team Ninja said that they were putting the series to bed for a while and working on a new IP.
ID: gw6i3pyAh right, I remember them sort of suggesting that it might be open world as well as the developer said the PS5's SSD made them want to take on that "challenge".
ID: gw6qd0oSilent Hill 😀 (Rumoured)
ID: gw6yeljI really hope they change their minds. I mean, I know it's unlikely as they seem to have their minds made up, but you never know, man. You never know.

Nioh 2 is easily one of the best games from last gen I really hope they decide to make a 3rd one
ID: gw6qit1I googled this a few days ago when i beat Nioh 2 remastered and so far they are not working on a Nioh 3 🙁
ID: gw6x92pI can definitely see them doing a ninja gaiden reboot next. Especially since they're releasing that ninja gaiden remaster collection
ID: gw6r5oxIt's my GOTY of 2020. GOT was fantastic but is second place, 2077 was fun but obviously it needed more, and TLOU2 didn't do anything for me except obviously on a technical level. Sometimes graphics or story don't matter as much as just pure gameplay, and Nioh definitely is one of those games.

One of the greatest games I ever played !! Got nearly a thousand hours in it or more
ID: gw84fkoHow long does it take to go from Dream of the Demon to the true end game? I'm working my way there, but my current build is barely enough for DotD so it's taking me a while.
ID: gw8hgh7It depends on many things. If you are rushing or doing every mission but you still have a very long way to go. Doing expeditions with other players will make it easier cause you don't have to restart from the shrine every time you die. Remember that doing ANY mission in your current difficulty will count to unlocking new areas. You DON'T need to only do story missions.

Game is hard af...
ID: gw84kniIndeed. The first playthrough is just the beginning though. The real fun starts in NG+, and all the way to NG++++.

I bough this game 2 times both ps5 and Pc they deserve it it’s one of my favourite now!
-
Which caused at least 2.5 million broken PS4 controllers from rage quitting. Jokes aside, it was an amazing game. It took me 130+ hours to beat it but hey, I did it.
-
Well deserved, haven't played the second yet but the first is one of the best in the generation, and is my favorite souls-like (have played dark souls 1, bloodborne, dark souls 3, the surge, nioh, and got bored of Sinner: Sacrifice for Redemption after like 2 bosses, it didn't feel good at all + boss to boss is grating.
-
Fuck yes, they’re good games. Simple as that.
-
this seem low to anyone else?
ID: gw6xcisFor this genre of game, it's pretty damn good. Games this difficult are somewhat niche
ID: gw814unIt's one of those games where it's not as hard as it's reputation would have you think, once you learn the mechanics each level+boss will kill you 0-5 times except for the odd bugger
This is different for everyone of course but I found it far easier than any of the souls games
(Late new game cycles of Nioh not withstanding but there's 100 hours of good content per game before you hit NG++)
ID: gw79898Niche game blood borne only did 2mil

Nice.

Plat both games. Liked the first Nioh. It was a decent game. But I really disliked Nioh 2. Character creation was nice, as well as new weapons, but I did not enjoy how they attempted to make the game harder. Various Yokai and human hp pools in Nioh 2 vs 1, reduction in magic and ninjutsu quantity and time, enemy hyper reliance on the grey grapple attacks with instant gap close and half second animations, nearly every enemy spams this or the burst, attack chains are longer, enemies hit harder, severe punishment for making a single mistake in very long fights, those fights where the hp pool is just massive, I just get bored after chipping away at so much hp. I forced myself through Nioh 2 just cause I beat Nioh 1, thought I would like it eventually, never doing that to any series again.
ID: gw85445I wanna plat Nioh 2, but the hot springs trophy is a bitch. I didn't keep track of which ones I took a bath in from the start, so now it's a big pain in the ass.
-
Does this ever go on sale I always wanted to try it but might just buy the complete remaster version

Nioh 2 is one of the few titles you can actually play at 128fps on PS5 (I you have a decent hdmi 2.1 panel)

It is. Some of the finest combat in the genre.
