Probably the game I want a sequel to more than anything.

Or not even a SEQUEL but another game in the franchise. I feel like there were technical limitations back then that keep the game from really seeing its full potential.

Likely because it was a nightmare to make, they started it in 2004 and delayed it 8 times, leading to the graphics and animation being very dated at release.

The relationship between team bondi and rockstar was also quite bad. Rockstar and Team Bondi disagreed on the direction, and eventually Team Bondi's management resented Rockstar for taking lots of creative control. In turn Rockstar removed over 100 names from the games official game credits.Team bondi also had a high turnover with really bad working conditions.

Rockstar initialy wanted to make Team Bondi into Rockstar Sydney but the more they worked with Team Bondi management, the more they came to understand that this was a terrible idea. Team bondi went bankrupt a few months after its release.

I mean, Team Bondi doesn’t have to make the sequel. Rockstar owns the IP, they can give it to any studio to make & they don’t need Bondi’s technology anymore.

Edit: the bigger issue is that Rockstar doesn’t seem to have an interest in re-investing profits into more studios / games outside of GTA & RDR.

If they make another like it, please don't include "collect all 95 vehicles". PITA...

Technically limitations at that time for sure, but that game was still pretty groundbreaking for facial expressions and movement during dialogue at that time. I remember being pretty blown back by how realistic the character’s faces looked and moved back then

It would be a really good sequel if they made it kind of like GTA. Set in the same time period as the first but more freedom and a bigger more diverse map. Side missions/activities etc.

I remember when the game came out and I was absolutely in my element playing it and I heard a lot of anger that it didn’t have multiplayer as a lot of people assumed it had, with Rockstar being the publisher.

Fantastic game, I was completely absorbed in the world and loved walking into the precinct between and during cases.

It’s in my top 10 list of my all time fav games. I remember being hyped for this when it first was brought up years before launch

I would've thought by now this game would definitely get a follow-up. I take it as a sad symptom of what's happened to Rockstar over the past decade. They used to publish one blockbuster every couple of years; now they're re-releasing their 2013 hit every 4-5 years.

They're making a ton of money but they're not pushing the art form anymore.

Super surprised this one and "Bully" dont have sequels

Supposedly Bully 2 has been in development multiple times and got canned. I wonder if they've just never had an idea for a sequel that really stuck.

In my mind it's an almost impossible scenario. If it doesn't keep the high school setting I think it loses pretty much all the charm that made the original great (I know a lot of people want a college sequel). But at the same time I think a lot of the audience that wants a Bully 2 is older now and doesn't necessarily want a game set in high school again.

Games are different now they can’t just release a new game every year like the PS2 days. You claim they’re not pushing the art form but I’d argue that Red Dead 2 pushed it to new heights

That might be true but they would have released more games than they have if it wasn't for the success of GTA Online. We are in 2021 and they are rereleasing their 2013 game yet again

Team Bondi was a horror that shouldn't have released a single game. Rockstar pushed LA Noire out and never worked with the studio again for very good reason.

Brendan McNamara needs to be blacklisted from the game industry.

To be frank, he's a vile bully

This would be so good as a ps5 remake

I didn't know the doubt option was originally called force, it makes the main guys performance make way way more sense.

God I loved this game so much!! I had it on my Xbox 360 (I know I know it was really my dad's and he was an Xbox loyal until I chose the ps4 lmao) and played it through twice. Few years ago I traded it in and got a couple quid for it. Decided I wanted to play it again around March just gone and it was selling in that chain for like 20 quid!! My only guess is that it must've had a big resurgence but still! So much for what had been selling in that chain for less than a fiver back when I traded it in.
