So Massive is doing this one, and they are also doing a Star Wars game? I wonder if Massive have a huge team working on both titles, or if this one is pretty far in development?

ID: h1jssp5

They have 650 employees, their team is massive (pun absolutely intended)

ID: h1k4oen

Yeh, Ubisoft studios in general are massive af, like Ubisoft Montreal has 5000 developers, and I think all together all of the studios have 15000-20000 developers which is again crazy. Tho unfortunately these developers are never given the time and freedom to create something exceptional except now with this game it seems they may.

ID: h1k90f4

Weirdly, Supermassive Games only has 200 employees

ID: h1jsqbu

Well this was announced in like 2015 or something...

Logo isn’t Papyrus, literally unplayable.

ID: h1ky2tc

Papyrus logo: $39.99 extra

ID: h1lfxbh

God damnit…

ID: h1li102

They're making more?

ID: h1mi8jw

Hahahaha i have watched that skit many many times.

Does it come with the seat that feels like its breathing when you play?

ID: h1k69ji

Fun fact at 11 1 3 and 5pm every day the system dumps fast passes for FOP onto the app

Just wait for one of those times grab a FP and you’ll be on in ten minutes

ID: h1kanvc

I'm literally in the middle of planning my DW trip and just saw this. Do you have a source, and any other tips? Thanks for this info!

ID: h1klnu6

Damn, I wish I knew this. Waited in line for 3 hours with my son. Disney's best ride (at least at the time, haven't been on Resistance yet), so glad we waited, but that was painful.

ID: h1kdwr6

Hands down the best ride in Orlando.

ID: h1k0mmt

Does it also come with a 2 hour wait and leg cramps?

Coming to PS5 (current gen) in 2022!

Some description info:

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is a first person, action-adventure game developed by Massive Entertainment—a Ubisoft studio, in collaboration with Lightstorm Entertainment and Disney.

Built using the latest iteration of the Snowdrop engine, and developed exclusively for the new generation of consoles and PC, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora brings to life the alluring world of Pandora with all of its beauty and danger in an immersive, open world experience.

In this new, standalone story, play as a Na’vi and embark on a journey across the Western Frontier, a never-before-seen part of Pandora. Explore a living and reactive world inhabited by unique creatures and new characters, and push back the formidable RDA forces that threaten it.

Fucking James Cameron at it again.

First he wanted photorealistic CGI. Then he wanted an actual 3D experience. Now he wants real-time graphics too!

Avatar 3 is gonna be streamed right into my brain isn't it?

ID: h1jvu1j

Avatar 3 will use Vr

ID: h1k94jg

Avatar 3 is gonna be streamed right into my brain isn't it?

With the right ponytail...

ID: h1k37jc

James Cameron is literally so slow with Avatar that we're seeing things from the game that should've been revealed in the second movie. New biomes, new fauna, new cultures. It all looks spectacular, but man, imagine if we saw all this on the big screen first.

ID: h1k2abr

First person? Idk, I feel like 3rd person would be better

6 : Anonymous2021/06/12 20:07 ID: h1jseqq

Like every cinematic reveal trailer for a new IP, I just wanna see what gameplay looks like

ID: h1jur8b

Same.

I cant be excited about a game until we get a ratchet and clank rift apart type state of play that shows exactly how the game will play.

ID: h1kkp5a

Nowadays the gameplay demos are often "vertical slices" created just for the demo (Anthem, Cyberpunk) that often have very little relation to the end product

ID: h1k1qfe

This game has so much potential with the different creatures offering a variety of traversal options, a range of rifles and more ‘prehistoric’ weapons, and the opportunity to explore the history, culture and livelihood of the blue man group. However, all judgement has to be reserved until there’s gameplay because it may just be a clunky mess where nothing is done properly

PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Stadia, Luna

Stadia is still alive? WTF is Luna??

ID: h1l0ai6

Luna is Amazon’s game streaming service.

ID: h1l1j3p

TIL Amazon has a game streaming service.

8 : Anonymous2021/06/12 20:20 ID: h1jtvtz

Glad to see it NOT on PS4 and XBone. This has big potential.

ID: h1jz8gb

Can't wait to see future games take full advantage of current gen. Nothing holding them back. This is when talent and management will produce crazy new experiences. I mean if Last of us 2 was able to be made for ps4... I could only imagine.

ID: h1juh6u

I agree. These types of games you don't want held back by last-gen

ID: h1k0cxz

I still have a PS4, I’m praying that I can get a PS5 once they are back in stock.

ID: h1k7lv0

you got to follow those Twitter accounts that tell you when it's in stock and allow push notifications for those accounts. If I hadn't done that I would never have been able to buy a PS5

ID: h1jwxaj

I am starting to get weirded out by the many potentially awesome releases lately. Maybe is the new gen magic but I haven't cared about most releases for a few years now.

9 : Anonymous2021/06/12 23:29 ID: h1kejhj

All right. Time to fuck some Blue People.

10 : Anonymous2021/06/12 23:59 ID: h1khlbm

Can I play as the human overlords?

11 : Anonymous2021/06/13 00:11 ID: h1kiud0

An amazing looking game from an amazing looking movie that not one person can remember a single line of dialog from

12 : Anonymous2021/06/12 20:30 ID: h1jv2r8

I see Avatar and I'm intrigued. I see current gen only and it has my attention.

13 : Anonymous2021/06/12 21:01 ID: h1jymny

dude ik this map is going to be fuckin insane lol. Ubisoft makes choppy games but damn they know how to make a beautiful setting

14 : Anonymous2021/06/12 20:28 ID: h1jutwy

This game is part of the marketing campaign for the movies.

ID: h1jvxc0

And vice versa.

ID: h1kcvgw

Gotta drum up hype for its sequel and then our children's children will get to play a holodeck avatar game and get the 3rd movie in this supposed trilogy

15 : Anonymous2021/06/12 21:17 ID: h1k0c3l

Its Ubisoft. Game will look 40% worse. Just a fact

ID: h1ka7j8

I audibly said “ughhh” when I saw Ubisoft lmao.

16 : Anonymous2021/06/12 20:10 ID: h1jsrnb

This the first third party, non-exclusive game I can think of announced to be current gen only. While I'm going to need to know a lot more about the game to decide whether to get interested in it or not, after the focus they put on the environments in the trailer atleast this can hopefully be a current gen showcase.

Edit: A couple of people asking what kind of game it is - the game is first person and open world.

ID: h1jt9uj

This the first third party, non-exclusive game I can think of announced to be current gen only.

Rocksteady's Suicide Squad game is also current-gen only.

17 : Anonymous2021/06/12 20:18 ID: h1jtokq

I hate that it's first person.

ID: h1jvylb

Yeah, reading its 1st person did dampen my initial excitement after coming here post trailer. I'm sure plenty of people will have the opposite preference, but for games focused on exploration and traversing in big environments I tend to find third person more enjoyable.

ID: h1jwvgu

If your gonna make a game about a big blue alien in a fantastical world, I wanna see my big blue alien in that world.

Fighting humans seems like it would be strange in first person given the height difference
