For that price…. An 5800X would be a better choice for a gaming pc.

ID: h2fcwhg

I would expect at least a 1TB nvme drive as well.

3 : Anonymous2021/06/20 14:02 ID: h2fgpix

Way too expensive for what you get imo. It's definitely not worth $3000. And that case looks like it has zero air flow.

Fans against glass is my fetish.

ID: h2gevb7

Look at the bright side tho, no dust buildup on the fans!

4 : Anonymous2021/06/20 13:14 ID: h2fbd5p

Case is a hot box. GN did a review on it.

ID: h2foe5c

I'm not surprised it doesnt look like it has any holes on the front/ top for the fans at all

GN?

I was going to reply with the exact same thing.

3k on a pc...

That's too silly for me.

Spend 1500 on a machine.

Keep the other 1500 for your new pc in 2027.

ID: h2gf8pb

Well does 1.5K buy you a consistent 140fps in FPS games for 6 years?

Ps I’m not planing on buying this, was just wondering if it was a good deal, turns out it’s not

ID: h2gy1mc

if they actually had a 3080 Ti and you could get it in a ~week? i'd consider it a deal.

most places (aka ebay/amazon) are listing about $2300 or higher for Ti's. after a 30 second dig through

and with not a single "I GOT MY 3080 Ti!!" post seen i'd say it's doubtful.

ID: h2h0cib

140fps in FPS games for 6 years

For sure the GPU you are looking for is not a 3080Ti... unless you are talking 1080p, in that case a 6700XT or even a 3060Ti will be enough.

6 : Anonymous2021/06/20 15:51 ID: h2ft1zt

That case... run

7 : Anonymous2021/06/20 16:01 ID: h2fu94h

A 3900x combined with a 3080 Ti? The GPU is a bit too overpowered for the CPU. Even a Ryzen 5 5600x would be better.

ID: h2gkkfu

No, it really wouldn’t. Games are saturating 6 cores already, and especially if you have things running in the background or you like to watch videos while playing games or have a stream running, 6 cores isn’t enough, hence why I bought a 3900X over a 5800X

ID: h2gksya

No?! A 3900x would be a bottleneck in combination with a 3080 Ti

ID: h2fyf3n

no its not lol, especially that in most cases it can barely satisfy the CPU lol

8 : Anonymous2021/06/20 13:24 ID: h2fcog9

5900x+better ram+good x570 = ~900(this is what i just spent for a 5900x + 32gb 3600mhz ram + a slightly better asus motherboard before tax). Add on the egregious 1200 for a 3080ti, and the main components would be 2100. All the rest is not worth 900, and that would be for a better system then the above. Prices before tax, as i am assuming the 3000 is before tax.

1tb hard drive is a joke. 4tb is about $70, 6tb is about $130

512gb ssd is ok, but small for this price range. 1tb ssd about $90-100

psu is probably fine, worth about $90-100

case is crap, wouldn't use that at all, looks like an airflow nightmare. A good case can be had for $70-100, an ok case for less.

Dont know if the cooler is any good, but its worth about $130. I would choose big air for less money.

You could do a much bigger hd, ssd, and a better case, keeping the rest the same for about 600.

$3000 just strikes me as too much, for such shitty storage, and having a last gen processor(which is fine, but price should reflect that its last gen). Really should be a 3900x+3080(not ti, would be a better fit) for about $800-1000 less, performance would be nearly the same.

Or for 3000 they should have included a 5900x, much bigger hd, much bigger ssd, slightly faster ram, and a case that is more function then this nightmare. Then the premium they are charging for prebulit might be worth it. I would still not consider that a good price....the 3080ti price blows the system cost out of the water for the meager performance gain vs a 3080.

ID: h2gkpsp

Thanks a lot. But I guess 1200$ for a 3080ti is nowhere to be found….

Edit: anyways I’m not planning to buy this, nor build a PC (though I would love to). For work, I travel, thus I’ll get a laptop

10 : Anonymous2021/06/20 13:39 ID: h2fe7ny

Bad for the price.

11 : Anonymous2021/06/20 13:14 ID: h2fbc4v

The best check of pcpart picker i could do puts the parts at around 1500-1600.(plus the cost of the 3080 ti so add that.) (2,699 ish ) Of course if you really need a pc then just buy it, gpus are still hard to get. 3900x are slightly old at this time but they are not cpus. The plus is looks like mostly name brand parts but that is still a v cheap ssd. If this was my only option id probably do it. If you can build with legos then you could get all this stuff for half better then build it.

Not amazing but not a complete rip off either if you add the the 1500 ish plus the cost of a 3080 ti. It will game well.

12 : Anonymous2021/06/20 13:31 ID: h2fdf1u

No

13 : Anonymous2021/06/20 13:09 ID: h2favdm

They obviously took one of the cheapest GPUs out there, but since the chip shortage is still ongoing, this sounds like a good deal

Edit: I meant the manufacturer, not the model itself.

ID: h2g23z6

"3080ti"

They obviously took one of the cheapest GPUs out there

Wat

ID: h2gnv7g

I meant the manufacturer.

ID: h2fayz2

Yeah I have no clue what the difference is between different brands for the same GPUs. I read a review of this and it doesn’t seem bad

ID: h2fqzof

Its probably the used cooling solution for the GPU.
But still the case is horrible. You could throw that stuff in your oven and close the door has the same effect.

14 : Anonymous2021/06/20 14:51 ID: h2fm4us

That case has absolutely zero airflow and will male your cpu and gpu throttle giving poor performance.

15 : Anonymous2021/06/20 15:03 ID: h2fnjxn

Ah yes. The MSI "we paid for our iF Design Award" case.

16 : Anonymous2021/06/20 15:06 ID: h2fnxkb

You're quickly going to realize you need to change that case. Those components inside that might as well be set on fire. Last gen CPU, RAM a bit on the slower side (for a $3k PC that is) and definitely not enough storage, especially SSD storage. Also, they don't really say anything about the PSU, which leads me to believe they cheaped out on it. 80+ Gold doesn't have to mean anything, so there's a good to fair chance you'd replace that too if you want to be 100% safe.

If you have no other choice, and need a PC, this doesn't seem too bad with the current state of things. But you're definitely going to be wanting to invest more time and money to get it up to the standard of the average builder.

17 : Anonymous2021/06/20 17:02 ID: h2g1pzc

I would switch out the case definitely if you went for it, it's atrocious. But even then Ryzen 9 3000 is going to hold the system back a bit, if you just want the game I would perhaps sell that and get a 5600X or 5800X instead.

18 : Anonymous2021/06/20 17:13 ID: h2g30el

go over to pcpartpicker and put all these parts in and see what just the parts cost. then see how much its marked up and if its worth it to you to pay the extra price for support and someone else putting it together for you.

19 : Anonymous2021/06/20 17:35 ID: h2g5qq0

It looks like it’s in a $30 case with zero air flow.

20 : Anonymous2021/06/20 21:18 ID: h2gwmg9

You're better off buying the spare parts. Will cost less.

Also, get a Lian Li 011Dynamic case.

21 : Anonymous2021/06/20 22:37 ID: h2h5q7e

I think 2.6k would be a fair price for that just be patient imo now is not the time to buy a computer / build it

See if your local microcenter can build an entire PC with you from scratch, I've heard they keep hidden stock away from the morning scalpers/campers for people looking to make full builds

ID: h2hbwz9

Microcenter? I’m not in USA :/

22 : Anonymous2021/06/20 23:29 ID: h2hbakh

Their charging you that much and can't even give you 5000 series cpu?

fyi, dell/alienware will sell you freaking 3090 with 5000 series R7/9 cpu for same price range as this ripoff.

23 : Anonymous2021/06/20 23:42 ID: h2hcnbw

I say wait for the 4x series to hit the fan from nvidia.

[Edit] i picked this same build, but use 32gb x2 gskillz with a nvidia evga black 2070, and am running nice and comfortable on aC valhalla rite now at a comfortable 54c...with an icegiant elite..

Building this myself didn't even break 2400, but i say this is a deal if it were a newer graphics only because of nvidias bad reputation with the 3x cards.
