Picked up It Takes Two based on a post here and boy, this is the local co-op game I had been looking for

I came across a post praising It Takes Two recently on this subreddit and decided to take the plunge after reading the top comment. This game is something. I had been looking for a local split screen game to play with my roommates who are not too much into gaming and this is the perfect blend of casual gaming and fun. Love the puzzles, love the graphics, and of course 60fps.

I wish more people knew about it. Wonder what other hidden gems have I not discovered yet! (On a side note, are there other such local co-op games on PS4/PS5?)

I've only seen my son playing it with his friend. My sons friend shared his copy with him (great idea). It looked absolutely superb. I think it would be amazing to play with my girlfriend. I intend to pick it up soon.

Sackboy and It Takes Two are both phenomenal games to play with your partner

We both love playing Sackboy. We play it most days, so I think she'll really enjoy it. She's not a gamer, but Sackboy has struck a chord, so this feels like a good next step.

Is sackboy (the new one) local co-op?

I played it with my fiancé it was one of the best gaming experiences I ever had

Good to hear! That seals the deal

What I love about this game is that each level introduces new mechanics and level design. I wish more games kept each level fresh like this did.

I didn't enjoy every new mechanic, some are definitely better than others, but the variety kept me excited to see what the next one would be.

It's not often you play a game where you don't know where it's going to go gameplay wise. Nice little co-op game to have. LEGO titles for example could learn so much from it.

It Takes Two was phenomenal! My husbsnd and I finished it a few weeks ago and had a fantastic time.

Try A Way Out it is done by the same people. I'm only halfway through but we are enjoying it.

Can you play A Way Out local couch co-op? (Not just online)

ID: h2eitu7

Sure you can, that's what the game is designed for in the first place.

Unravel 2 is a good couch for-op too

How is it for a 6 year old? My daughter loves playing games with me but worried the content might be a bit adult.

Stupid question but you need two controllers to play this locally correct?

Our teacher in school used to say, there is no such thing as a stupid question.. i guess he was wrong! Just kidding 😀 ofc you need two controllers!

Bought this on sale recently to play with my wife who’s been living away for work for 6mths. Can’t wait to play it with her.

Like many people that gamed when they were young, but sat out the last 1-2 decades or so, my wife struggles with most “modern” games because she has issues with moving the right stick for the camera. Loves games like Crash though. Think she’d do ok if we played this together?

Man Im not going to lie, playing it with my wife is tough. She dies A LOT due to having to use both joysticks and stuff. She is getting better but it just requires immense patience on my part

ID: h2h9l4w

I think there are certain parts where it can be tough. Some boss battles require quick wits and use of both joysticks. My girlfriend found one bit tricky and the game didn’t give her much of a chance to get her bearings before she got killed again and this cycle did frustrate her. I’ve not finished the game yet but 90-95% of it has been fine, there are just some sequences which will require patience and some help from you probably. It’s a fantastic game though, really, a lot of fun!

I love this game!

Also if anybody is on the fence you can play through the first chapter for free - just download the "Friend's Pass" version of the game

Haha same!

It's one of the best games I've played in a long time..... I normally would avoid EA titles but this is something spectacular.

13 : Anonymous2021/06/20 12:40 ID: h2f88zp

Its such a great game I loved playing it

14 : Anonymous2021/06/20 15:29 ID: h2fqh9s

Its great but my wife has never played a video game and getting through the Bee Hive was ROUGH as her playing May. Any tips on how I can help her get better without getting mildly frustrated lol
