Wrong test.
Should be

1080p native

1080p @ 70% render + FSR

1080p @ 50% render + FSR.

I have another image with exactly that, but I decided to upload this one

Nice that they got a slider but their implementation is worst than Anno 1800. The UI can/should always be rendered at native resolution. Even in performance mode Anno renders the UI at native resolution.

It's is rendered at native resolution. He is using 100% render resolution and manually lowering the output resolution which isn't what you should do.

The UI resolution doesn't change. Health bars etc. are always very sharp, even when lowering the render quality.

Look at the image in the post tho. Especially the time gets super blurry.

The left image is misleading, since it's darker colours, more complex, and not actually what the gameplay is.

If you look at the right pictures, you can clearly see the game is fuzzier even with the 900p one.

For example, the text/numbers on the player's level and game timer are clearly less crisp, and also the healthbars are not only less defined but have lost a bit of "pop" and blend into the background a little more.

FSR isn't magic after all, it's not reconstruction and will be lossy.

These examples you noticed are not related to the FSR, as they are HUD elements, and they are inserted in the image after FSR. The reason why they are not as sharp is because of the reduced overall resolution.

So? The overall image is still worse, that's the point.

You can also easily tell reduced detail by looking at the tower or flag as well.

Also, the trees in the bottom-right of the image are clearly fuzzier, particularly between the top and bottom images.

I want to apologize for my previous post in which I made a mistake in comparing rendered images at 40% and 50%.

You're forgiven

Its the same picture

My untrained eye clearly dont see any difference

I don't understand what 900P + Render Resolution 99% + FSR On mean all together here, exactly.
