Everybody can test this themselves since the game has a free demo.

I’m on an FX-6300/GTX 960. Can I try it?

ID: h2uoax3

Pretty sure you can.

Afaik GTX 10-Series is the minimum requirement

I believe you specifically want The Riftbreaker Prologue, not The Riftbreaker Demo.

Demo worked for me

Kinda hard to evaluate given that the video only scales to 1080p...

4 : Anonymous2021/06/23 23:13 ID: h2tp4zs

In ultra quality it looks very good, I want to try this again in future games.

I wonder why DX12 destroys performance

Thanks!

youtube video at 1080p

Thanks!

Fx 8350 wow surprised it can even decently play modern games

cant wait for RE8 implementation. Will make 120 fps rock solid on 1440p with rx 5700.

ID: h2wyvyq

That game even supports checkerboard rendering on PC, so we can even compare checkerboard image vs FSR.

PS To use checkerboard rendering on PC for RE8, there is an option called Image Quality in the graphics settings, default should be "Normal". Change that to "Interlaced". That should enable the checkerboard rendering mode on PC. Boosts performance too.

What would FSR look like at native resolution? Wouldn't it improve the image at now fps cost?

ID: h2ue8fa

It costs 3-8% from what I've seen. Some people are requesting that AMD allows to use this at native, but maybe it's not worth it, or just doesn't increase the image much when you do that.

ID: h2uqe8l

Could you not just enable virtual super resolution in the driver, then turn on FSR in game?

9 : Anonymous2021/06/24 02:59 ID: h2uepyc

Just wondering is your FX8350 overclocked?

10 : Anonymous2021/06/24 01:20 ID: h2u3e77

this game is blurry as hell on native lol noticed that first time i tried it

11 : Anonymous2021/06/24 03:15 ID: h2ugfag

I mean it is hard to tell even in the youtube video but it appears there is a loss of dynamic range in the flames and there is a lot of missing details on the ground... at all levels below native.

It probably doesn't make sense to turn FSR on for this game unless you are GPU bound at low resolutions, or have a 4k monitor.

ID: h2v2dob

It makes a lot of sense actually. With UQ I can cap 60 fps and almost halve power usage, and in return I pay with very little quality degradation but in this case capping 60 is a HUGE benefit for this game as otherwise you'd run un-vsynced or run into a double-buffering wall. Perhaps not relevant if you have VRR but relevant for me. That way I don't have to turn down the wonderful raytracing this game offers either. It's an incredible win all in all.

Is this something that can be added to older games?

ID: h2udv6q

Might be modded in if modders care. AMD is not sure moders can make it look good, though. I think it needs some preset parameters a developer needs to set. Some dev said it took 2 hours to implement, but that was probably 2 hours on top of FidelityFX which they already spend some time implementing before.

Thank you for the explanation 🙂

Well, if dota 2 just got it, I think the answer is yes, yes it can.

I doubt you be able to tell quality from video on reddit is even worse then YouTube

ID: h2v1hb1

youtube video at 1080p

ID: h2vs14m

Try 4k or 8k or still uncompressed images
