Human revolution and Mankind divided are great.

Just don’t expect a fulfilling story in MD. The game is very much set up for a sequel that never got made

ID: h2rd6tz

I was so let down Mankind Divides ending. I felt like the game just stopped.

Human Revolution however I've replayed several times, incredible game.

ID: h2rh6b6

I literally could not believe the game was over after the last boss. I started laughing because it had never happened to me, that I was surprised a game had ended.

I have had tons of games where I was like "shit, game has to be over now" and then it continued, but never the opposite.

Game was pretty great, narrative and story were not really well done, in my opinion.

Only game I’ve ever 100%. I hate boss fights when going non lethal but other than that amazing game

I was so let down Mankind Divides ending. I felt like the game just stopped.

Because it wasn't an actual ending. The game was supposed to be much longer. What we got was basically the first half of the original game

ID: h2s29in

It definitely did just stop. It was weird. But, I loved the game anyway.

ID: h2rav1d

Agree 100%. Mankind Divided is a good game. Human Revolution is one of the greatest games ever made.

ID: h2rwwai

Is human revolution the one where you make the big decision at the end ? Hell yeah that ruled

ID: h2rv1l5

The Director's Cut version if Human Revolution is a masterpiece. I really hope they bring this series back to finish it up.

ID: h2rcwsq

I can't really put my finger on it why it was the case but MD felt kinda meh, whereas HR was absolutely great. Prague was really nice in MD

ID: h2s2eei

It was sabotaged from the start. The success of Human Revolution caught Square Enix's eye, and they tried to monetize the hell out of the sequel. You could tell it was worrying when they started calling it the "Deus Ex universe" and had a companion app, and dozens of preorder editions and stuff. The game had a very chunky microtransaction oriented mode that no one really liked, or even played outside of doing it because it had trophies involved.

Eidos Montreal had a legitimately good revival for one of the most iconic single player series, but given the industry trends for the time when they released Mankind Divided, they cut the legs out from under the potential prequel stories by trying to squeeze every last dollar in microtransactions. Very sad.

ID: h2rj6pa

MD is great yea...but it's painfully less impressive compared to HR I wanted that final Jensen game tho...what exactly happened to Deus ex...

ID: h2s8pgc

Shelved due to low sales on MD and to make way for Marvel stuff

ID: h2rn0ik

Yes. If Crystal Dynamics didn't make that aweful Avengers game, Eidos Montreal wouldn't have had to make Shadow of the Tomb Raider and maybe could have made the next Deus Ex game. SotTR was released one weeek after the first big gameplay video vor Cyberpunk2077. It would have been the perfect timing for Deus Ex.

ID: h2smzgn

I have no idea what you're trying to say here. Shadow of the Tomb Raider came out years before the Avengers. If anything The Avengers is why Eidos didn't make a sequel to Human Revolution.

I wish Human Revolution got remastered! That game was incredible. Mankind Divided was alright but had a terrible ending and was a bit broken at launch

ID: h2rz68q

I’ve been tweeting @SquareEnix @EidosMontreal and @DeusEx asking them for a remaster every couple of weeks for the past 6 months or so, lol. Not even an acknowledgment thus far unfortunately. Won’t stop me from continuing to try though!

It was on PS Plus in a certain month in 2017.

ID: h2rj4tg

Your comment just made me check my PS4 games library and sure enough, there it is.

I bought that game on steam in early 2020 when it was on sale, just in case I might ever have a decent PC to game it on, not knowing that I already had it on PS4...

Something similar happened to me with Fallout 4. Which I now own digitally and physical.

I haven't even gotten around to play ANY of those games yet!

5 : Anonymous2021/06/23 21:18 ID: h2tb6c8

Just in case anyone was curious about the BC on this game. It’s saying it’s a locked 30fps unfortunately.

6 : Anonymous2021/06/23 14:48 ID: h2rufy7

I’ve tried both games and unfortunately I just really disliked the gameplay. It always felt stiff and janky to me. The controller layout also didn’t seem straightforward. I kept pressing the wrong buttons even an hour+ into the game.

I kept pressing the wrong buttons even an hour+ into the game.

Me playing BOTW.

ID: h2seada

me playing any game on SNES

ID: h2s9akc

I can't remember what one HR uses, but the default one for MD is atrocious. I switched to the preset called "Breach" and found that one just so much better.

7 : Anonymous2021/06/23 11:22 ID: h2r8pbo

It's a decent stealth action game but I wouldn't actually say it's any better or worse than Cyberpunk 2077. More polished for sure, but it also has its own major flaws, most notably a very incomplete story that never leaves the first act and an abrupt ending.

ID: h2rbop8

Indeed, the ending felt so incomplete, it felt like the story was just picking up and then it just ends abruptly.

ID: h2rjv8o

Both are “cyberpunk” games, but they really don’t feel similar at all to me tbh.

ID: h2rqcix

I guess the games shows how far we have come given that most of the detail interaction isn’t possible when you increase the size of the map to as big as cyberpunk.

8 : Anonymous2021/06/23 12:56 ID: h2rh41q

Human revolution was one of my favourite games on the PS3. Maybe of all time. Story was amazing

9 : Anonymous2021/06/23 11:39 ID: h2ra0ok

i think PREY is also a good example, i am really wishing i can get the reboot of SYSTEM SHOCK when it comes out, but i have no access to steam cards atm , so will wait and see, tried the demo, it was amazing.

ID: h2t9nt0

Everyone who hadn’t played prey. Go play prey. I’m glad it’s getting a resurgence because too many people slept on that game. I think it’s Arkhane’s best game.

ID: h2rug20

Seconding Prey. An incredible game.

ID: h2ti0tg

Tried Prey a few years back, got through the intro and spent about an hour on the ship. Just didn't click with me. You're comment reminded me I own it and makes me want to take another stab at it, so thanks for that.

ID: h2tibid

i bought it on ps4 back in my days, didn't like it much, a friend bought it from me, found it on steam for cheap, so i bought it again, loved it more the second time, still didn't finish it, but it does get very interesting later on, 1 specific story arc is really good and has bioshock vibes to it, it is also a very smart game, try it again, worth it.

10 : Anonymous2021/06/24 02:12 ID: h2u9cue

My only gripes when i played was they clearly favor the stealth approach while advertising the game as "clear it however you want" I mean yeah of course i can, but there are multiple bonuses for going stealth like Stealth kill, no damage, no alarm, secret route bla bla (i can't remember precisely).

11 : Anonymous2021/06/23 14:57 ID: h2rvmct

I think MD is under-rated. Extremely fun and creative. I do wish it was twice as long.

12 : Anonymous2021/06/23 12:59 ID: h2rhfid

I would rather recommend Human Revolution, it's better in any aspect. Mankind divided felt a bit like a letdown and unfinished. Not a good sequel, stand alone okay.

ID: h2rhiwo

I would recommend both, but I also think Human Revolution is better. Sadly it’s not playable on PS5 or 4.

13 : Anonymous2021/06/23 21:44 ID: h2tek56

Human Revolution is the better game.

14 : Anonymous2021/06/23 22:07 ID: h2thbgg

Just bought a copy of cyberpunk for $20. Should I wait until the PS5 patch to play it?

ID: h2trkfm

No it plays fine. I have tons of time on my ps5 and it hasn’t crashed in a long time. Only crashes I ever got were from driving. You can always quick save very easily, which you should do anyways.

15 : Anonymous2021/06/24 03:34 ID: h2uiguo

And to people who have a stomach for dated games, the masterpiece that is the original Deus Ex is worth playing. And if you like that one, System Shock 2 is on the chopping block.

16 : Anonymous2021/06/24 06:48 ID: h2uyoa5

I mean, let's be real. The only overlap is somewhat setting and the fact that it's an rpg.
If you go in expecting 2077's promises while playing Deus Ex you'll still be dissapointed.

That being said, I do love the Deus Ex games.

17 : Anonymous2021/06/24 06:51 ID: h2uyvyk

As a fan of the first Deus Ex, no Mankind Divided isn’t as good.

18 : Anonymous2021/06/23 14:02 ID: h2roobs

Remember, Deus Ex died for that shitty disney service game

19 : Anonymous2021/06/23 12:06 ID: h2rc8zs

Enjoyed my 3 playthroughs of Cyberpunk very much

20 : Anonymous2021/06/23 12:53 ID: h2rgthn
