New Dead Space Game Is Rumored to Take Inspiration From Recent Resident Evil Remakes

Resident Evil 2 Remake arguably the best RE game at the moment. Still haven’t played village but RE2R was just amazing. Atmosphere was perfect if they put as much love and care into the Dead Space remake like capcom did for RE2 then this game is gonna be a banger 10/10

Such a shame that 3make turned out the way it did.
ID: h3q9mwlVillage is really great but in a very different way. RE2R honestly set such a good new standard for the series, it's going to be interesting to see if Dead Space can compete. I imagine they can, look at Dead Space 2. It's basically just a better RE4.

RE2Remake and RE7 were my introductions to the series, and I loved playing them. Both of them had great atmosphere, and that fun sense of stress and anticipation. Village on the other hand scales back a lot of the horror in favor of making it into more of an action game. It's not that it's a bad game or anything, I just liked the emphasis on scares and exploration that 2Remake and 7 had. There was so much potential for them to expand on that in Village, but they largely focus on giving you lots of guns right away, and pitting you against large groups of enemies constantly.
I liked how in the 2 Remake, the zombies and Mr. X were smart and overwhelming—constantly surprising me and forcing me to change my plans. Every room I walked into in that game, I didn't know if some monster was going to ruin my plans; I loved that. And then 7 had so much atmosphere with the plantation. I loved wandering around that eerie house, with nothing more than a shotgun. And that part with the bugs—ugh, so good. Or the chainsaw boss battle!? Or the found footage video tapes!! So many great moments.
I will say that in Village, the best sequences in the game for me were a brief moment in the castle where you fall into some kind of basement torture chamber and have to wander around in the dark for a few minutes, and this one section of the game where you visit this dollmaker's house. Both were truly creepy, and captured that sense of atmosphere and tension I wish the rest of the game had aimed for.

If it's not from Glen Schofiled, I'll pass. I'd rather support the original creator with his new dead space inspired Callisto Protocal game.
ID: h3qcbvvI say the more horror games we get on Ps5 the better it is. I my self cant wait for "The Callisto Protocal" game but getting a good remake of Dead Space with updated graphics, 3D sound, Heptic Feedback in the controllers would be amazing.
ID: h3qfqndTbh, it's a remake. If it was a sequel to 3, I'd pass. But since it's a remake, the original ideas are still there. It's just going to look a lot better.
Though, Glen is an incredible artist. So it would've been nice to see his artistic vision of a dead space remake. But we'll probably see that in the Callisto Protocol.

ID: h3qlopmGlen had nothing to do with the series after the first game and I guess it shows. I still thought the second game was excellent despite his departure, but the first was definitely the most memorable for me. Being new might have had something to do with it, but it definitely trended towards more action with each subsequent sequel.

Just need to take inspiration in original dead space 1 and 2. Nothing more.

It basically did the same exact thing with RE4 and it worked out for them. Kinda funny how this will be like the third time that RE sets the tone for survival horror, but honestly if it results in a great game then take all the inspiration you like.

I agree. It captured the story and setting of the OG RE2 so well and the gameplay Style and movement from RE4 and 7. It’s easily my favourite game in the series and of all time. It was a blast to play the remake.
