Nice!! I rebought a slim PS1 a few years ago in a charity shop for £5! = No more than 10 USD. Best part is that it had a working disc for Silent Hill inside it and I dont even know if the shop had noticed

IDK, I would not buy a model 1 PSX considering how faulty they were at the time, more considering how old are they know, I would rather buy a PS2 if I really wanted to play on real hardware.
ID: h3qpi8vWe’re they faulty? I’ve had my OG since release, and we also have my gf’s as a backup which is almost as old, both original PSX but mine has definitely seen a ton more use.
The PS2 sadly died a few years ago and I had to replace it.

The PS1 gas stayed very affordable up until recently. They were $20 with all the hookups and a digital controller until 2018 in my local shops (no memory card though, so you got a good deal still).
A big factor was ps1 games worked on the PS2 and PS3, so it was always worth paying a little extra and getting a newer system.
Since the PS4 and PS5 won't play the games, combined with a huge uptick in gaming during the pandemic, and the PS1s are finally climbing in price, I expect they'll even out around the $60 mark for the foreseeable future.

ID: h3qqaycNope, launch PS3s play PS2 games aswell, but every PS3 plays PS1 games.
