amd.com sells msrp gpus every thursday right

1 : Anonymous2021/07/12 10:29 ID: oioklq

I'm looking at getting an rx 5500 xt and heard that they did, was wondering if this was true

2 : Anonymous2021/07/12 11:36 ID: h4wr8r8

AMD are only selling 6000 series right now on their website, 5000 series haven't been seen for a little more than half a year now (well obviously focusing on newer products other than older ones). They only sold 5700/XTs though not 5600/5500s if that can comfort you lol

3 : Anonymous2021/07/12 13:45 ID: h4x44xc

6700 is what your looking at. It’s on thursdays. You need a script to make the “add to cart” button show up.

Usually between 10 am to 1pm est. suggest you join one of the discord’s to help with setting up the button.

You can get one.

ID: h4xrjfg

Where’s this discord?

ID: h4zvv7h

I'll try this again since my previous comment was deleted. This is the video of the discord creator made on how to install scripts for AMD direct site that forces Add to cart button always show. The discord link is in the video's description

You don't need a script, but a few prayers wouldn't hurt.

ID: h4zgqll

do you know if there's any open source scripts available for use?

ID: h4zj2p0

Google it. You add it as a bookmark to your browser toolbar. I believe it’s even listed a few places In this Reddit.

ID: h4yw1mo

Last week (and even until now) I haven't been able to add anything to cart both with and without the ATC script on. It just doesn't go to the human verification. I can only do that when I use edge browser instead of chrome. Is there any way to fix this?
It was so sad seeing everyone able to buy cards where I couldn't even process to hukan verification

ID: h52l9nt

I went thru the same thing.

In my case, i had a 6800xt and a 6900xt on the cart, but failed after.

I removed the 6800xt and was able to purchase the 6900xt

ID: h4xh0lx

This! Its from 10am (4pm for us Europeans) to 10.30am! I got to the last screen for the shipping but couldnt do it in time... mabye next thursday! And it wouldnt i wouldnt be able to do this without Stockdrops Discord!

4 : Anonymous2021/07/12 12:10 ID: h4wu56v

AMD does not sell the 5500 XT on their website. The lowest tier GPU sold is the 6700 XT

5 : Anonymous2021/07/13 00:51 ID: h4zh7nw

Waiting for 7000 series here...

6 : Anonymous2021/07/12 11:21 ID: h4wq2wp

Yes, it's true. There are whole groups devoted to helping each other score a card.

There are multiple things you'll have to know before to improve the odds. Good luck.

7 : Anonymous2021/07/12 14:54 ID: h4xcjod

True. You can only get the RX 6000 series cards though. AMD isn’t selling the 5000 series cards on their store anymore.

And you need a special script. And they typically drop in the morning. I recommend Falcodrins Twitch channel and ask them. They’ll help out.

8 : Anonymous2021/07/12 13:54 ID: h4x55ch

It’s hit me miss, there really is no schedule, and now that they added human verification it takes longer and does not always work

ID: h4y1f95

"human verification" fkin lol

Only slightly above average bots are allowed to purchase a card, brilliant.

ID: h4z1s3y

To be fair Google's recapcha v3 is pretty hard to bypass. To you it looks like a simple button but there is heaps that goes on in the background it check for bots.

9 : Anonymous2021/07/13 04:42 ID: h505eby

anyone know a way to buy outside america? im from south america and gpus are msrpx3. Has anyone tried sending to a forward or to a P.O. box?

ID: h51idvi

I have successfully ordered my 6800 using a forwarding address myself, so it should be fine

10 : Anonymous2021/07/13 00:19 ID: h4zdfwt

Lol why does that sound shady af hahaha

ID: h50pk6b

It's not shady, it's true. Bought my 6800 XT on the 3rd of June on the AMD Site for 633€. But I will sell it as soon as the 3080 get's to a reasonable price because the AMD drivers are utter trash. I didn't have a fracture of the problems with my 1080 over 5 years than I had with this 6800 XT in these few weeks.

ID: h50sder

Did you oc your ram?

11 : Anonymous2021/07/12 20:14 ID: h4yjgpa

Does anyone know if they ship to Australia?

ID: h4yw8he

They do not.

12 : Anonymous2021/07/12 11:48 ID: h4ws99l

check it out next thursday. what can go wrong ¯(ツ)/¯

13 : Anonymous2021/07/12 17:51 ID: h4y13si

Yeah dude I know, they show up the next day on eBay for double MSRP. Like 90% of all sales on eBay are reference models. Every retailer raised prices on AIB models so the eBay hustle is over.

14 : Anonymous2021/07/12 11:44 ID: h4wrwfi

Allegedly

Edit: /s since that apparently wasn't clear.

ID: h4wxkp0

Not allegedly, it's true. The problem is they sell out within 45 seconds to two minutes, and you have to use Javascript to force the add to cart buttons to appear when the drop happens prior to them loading for everyone else to stand a chance.

ID: h4x63ch

So, it's literally impossible to get one without some level of hacking their website.

Gross.

ID: h4wyqj8

Could you explain more about using js to force add? I've visited their site like 20 times trying to get a 6000 card when they're "in stock", but I can never at it to my cart and check out.

How is this done? Thanks 🙂

ID: h4x2c1y

I got both an 6900xt and 6800 so can confirm.

ID: h50pmey

15 : Anonymous2021/07/13 15:47 ID: h51qrsn

script is attached via a txt file. read it. use it. good luck.

16 : Anonymous2021/07/13 14:30 ID: h51ghvi

A hint for everyone out there: the way i obtained my GPU from AMD.com was to click directly on the product. The main grid page listed it as out of stock, but I then clicked directly on the GPU I wanted, it allowed me to add it to cart.

17 : Anonymous2021/07/13 02:11 ID: h4zqac4

Got my 6700xt in April from AMD Direct on a Thursday morning drop. Received it the following Monday.

It's pretty consistent. Check out the Stock Drops discord for more info if you need.

18 : Anonymous2021/07/13 00:46 ID: h4zgju1

is there any difference in buying gpu from bestbuy or amd website?

19 : Anonymous2021/07/12 19:12 ID: h4ybrtg

You should be able to grab an RX 6000 series, but probably not an RX 5000 series card at AMD dot com. They’re focusing on current Gen products (higher margins)

Potentially, RDNA cards can be found on Newegg or other 3rd party retailers

20 : Anonymous2021/07/12 16:09 ID: h4xlsqa

Amd only sells the 6000 series on their store. Look at this video and it will show you your best chances at getting one . A note on top of that people have been using scripts to get the buy now button to show up before they are officially shown and they have been selling out before anyone even knew they where in stock.

21 : Anonymous2021/07/12 15:56 ID: h4xkego

I've never seen any stock on their website, and I've been checking every day for months. If they are listing any it must disappear instantly.

ID: h4ygd8z

They only drop Thursdays, no reason to check other days. Last few weeks it has been between 16:00 and 16:10, at least for EU CEST. Used to be around 17:30-17:40 before that.

ID: h4xm0uo

They drop on thursday mornings. Past 3 drops people have started hsibg scripts which makes them sell out before anyone even bots pick up thst they where in stock

22 : Anonymous2021/07/12 10:44 ID: h4wna58

they sell msrp GPU, just the one per week.

ID: h4wnbmh

They sell one gpu a week?

ID: h4wnfqt

nah. but they sell like 20-30 of 6900-6800 and 100 or so of 6700. And there may be like 10k people trying to get one.

23 : Anonymous2021/07/12 10:37 ID: h4wmui4

I can't comment on what it's been like recently, but at the tail end of 2020 I was hunting for a 6800 (eventually got one for MSRP +10% from OCUK), and back then it certainly wasn't true. Drops on the AMD site were completely random, mostly. Never the same day of the week, and would happen at varying times of the day, too.

ID: h4wo7kv

Recently drops on AMD.com have definitely been happening every Thursday morning. Not always exactly at the same time, but in the past month they've consistently dropped stock around a little after 10:00 or 11:00 EST.

ID: h4wrqic

Correct, only true since the end of February.

24 : Anonymous2021/07/12 17:17 ID: h4xwgzw

It hasn't been in stock for weeks

26 : Anonymous2021/07/12 15:17 ID: h4xfecm

5500 XT is no longer being sold off of amd's website, and you can normally only find 5700 XT's if you want an rdna1 based card. You'd want to buy a 6700 XT rn

27 : Anonymous2021/07/12 12:04 ID: h4wtmy6

...

28 : Anonymous2021/07/12 23:25 ID: h4z7fjs

Perfect.

29 : Anonymous2021/07/12 23:22 ID: h4z72lm

I dont think most people followed your joke. The OP did not post it as a question as there is no question mark. He litterally made a statement about GPUs being sold "thursday right".

30 : Anonymous2021/07/12 21:56 ID: h4ywpcu

If you have a microcenter near your they pretty much always have AMD cards in stock

31 : Anonymous2021/07/12 22:53 ID: h4z3nj6

for $2000...

32 : Anonymous2021/07/12 23:36 ID: h4z8ofq

Can confirm, I can pick one up now for 2200. Not paying that.

33 : Anonymous2021/07/12 20:47 ID: h4yns1c

your best bet right now on getting a budget AMD GPU is actually an xbox series s. PC market as a whole will remain screwed for a long while, and low end always suffers the worst.

34 : Anonymous2021/07/12 23:19 ID: h4z6pbw

Gross. How is that even an option? GPUs are already coming down.

35 : Anonymous2021/07/12 23:34 ID: h4z8efa

idk, i just don't see $150 rx580/5500xt's being a reality for a long time, probably never since $350 is the new normal for budget. i doubt it's profitable for AMD to even bother with retail low end market at this point. they'll happily sell you a 580 inside a $1000 prebuilt though.
