Judgment is now part of PlayStation Now until 4th October

Great game! I bought it on the sale going on now. I already put 40 hours in and finished the main story.

For anyone with a ps5 that hasn played it, the ps5 version is definitely worth getting! It's the best looking and smoothest game from the Yakuza franchise.

ID: h6q63fg

I thought yakuza like a dragon was the best looking yakuza game. Is it that good?

ID: h6qcpe1

Well like a dragon is the most recent so it's possible..

play both, they are both very good

ID: h6qpxeq

Judgement on PS5 has clearly received some type of lighting overhaul, besides having the 60fps. It's definitely the superior looking game.

Graphics have never been RGG's strong suit, but this game is genuinely gorgeous.

ID: h6qri7t

I think Judgement has a slight edge

ID: h6qfutq

Like a dragon is quite different gameplay wise. They patched it in ps5 to run at 60fps but Judgment looks much much better.

ID: h6qntbp

Judgment looks even better. RGG is always topping themselves

ID: h6qdm31

The 60fps is nice but they kind of borked the visuals on the PS5 version. What’s interesting is that during certain (most) cutscenes the visuals blatantly revert to the colours/look of the PS4 version, and it looks so much better stylistically. I even wondered if it was a glitch for the in game footage to look so weak. It’s grey and washed out, and while some people say it’s ‘grittier’ I think it just looks weird and without character.

4 : Anonymous2021/07/27 16:42 ID: h6q3ffk

Huh? It was on PSNow for almost a month. I finished it a week ago. Sony is pretty strange sometime.

ID: h6qod3y

I think it was only until the end of august and they increased the time.

ID: h6qyyxh

nope, I downloaded it at the end of June and it stated "until october 2021". That's why I took it and started playing it instead of Control

5 : Anonymous2021/07/27 16:46 ID: h6q42hs

Is this the ps4 version?

6 : Anonymous2021/07/27 16:14 ID: h6pzln3

Just finished it and all the side quests and it was a very good game but the Tailing mechanic gets old very quickly be prepared to do it for around 30 times in the game if you will do the side quests.

Yakuza 0 still my favorite, although I haven't played the most recent one Like a Dragon.

ID: h6q092v

Yeah that was my main gripe as well but to be fair, just about my only one. Hopefully for the sequel they cut down on it a lot and personally, I would be perfectly fine if the following was just done via cutscene/not shown and just implied

ID: h6q6jdd

Yakuza 0 is my most favourite as well! I’ve never wanted a fictional relationship to happen more than Majima x makoto

ID: h6r0qqs

You play the one with the bonus mission that revisits that?

ID: h6qibh3

Would you say that the side quest stories are worth doing even with the tailing mechanic? I hate the mechanic but I can do it if the side quest stories are good, like they were in Yakuza 0.

ID: h6qlscu

Not the dude you responded to but as someone else who also wasn't crazy about the tailing, I'd say yes based on your qualifier. The side stories are pretty on par with the rest of the series aka mostly enjoyable. Like the other games, there's a good mixture of straight up nonsense/silly ones (meant in a good way) as well as heartfelt and serious ones re: Japanese culture.

ID: h6r29ul

For real I hope they tone down tailing missions in the sequel

I bought this game on PS4 because I was going to upgrade it to PS5 when that version released. Oh, there's no upgrade options...basically dropped it at that point.

I'm not buying this game twice. I assume this is just the PS4 version of the title.

ID: h6q87ng

Same here. I don't get why they didn't just do a free PS5 upgrade. It makes the player feel left out. I deleted it to make space and haven't gone back to finish it. Now I don't have any motivation to get the new game since the first one is incomplete.

ID: h6qcmlb

The craziest part is they don't have a save transfer even if you buy it twice.

ID: h6r8yrd

Rumor I heard about the PS5 upgrade not being free is that it was probably something to do with Kimura's contract / royalties.

ID: h6r0kog

Playstation is so weird about upgrading and stuff.

ID: h6r0suc

It’s a Sega game.

8 : Anonymous2021/07/27 16:33 ID: h6q26gx

I have over 16 hours in this game got it for $25 dollar on the PS5 store & there so much to do

9 : Anonymous2021/07/27 16:19 ID: h6q0a6q

Twitter comments never disappoint. I expect chaos and I always get pure hatred without argumentation.

10 : Anonymous2021/07/27 18:38 ID: h6qjjru

Just bought it two days ago, you’re welcome guys. Give it another week and the Game Pass version will be announced too haha.

11 : Anonymous2021/07/27 17:30 ID: h6qa4ar

Welcome to months ago

12 : Anonymous2021/07/27 18:08 ID: h6qffxm

Wasn’t feeling this game the first few hours. Was really missing the craziness of the Kiryu games and the combat didn’t jive with me, but now im 25 hours in and can’t stop doing side missions. I would actually be more likely to recommend this over Yakuza given the modern quality of life choices and more grounded story and tone. I sure do miss dancing at night clubs though.

13 : Anonymous2021/07/27 17:05 ID: h6q6nrn

Judge eyes

14 : Anonymous2021/07/27 18:18 ID: h6qgwmn

Does this follow the Yakuza storyline or could I start it without ever playing a Yakuza game? I've got Yakuza 0 in my backlog but this is intriguing.

ID: h6qil9y

Totally different storyline. Just minor fan-service references to previous Yakuza character(s) afaik.

15 : Anonymous2021/07/27 16:28 ID: h6q1fl8

Anyone else constantly get Playstation Plus and Playstation Now mixed up? Gutted, this game was on my radar!

ID: h6q4v1l

No, almost like they are two distinct services with two distinct names...

ID: h6qh3ky

Services with the Playstation in name followed by a short word that doesn't describe it for a similar price that gives you games with your subscription until you stop subscribing. And games are announced to be on there for a limited time. Gee, I wonder how people could get confused. There's absolutely no overlap at all

ID: h6q8lhk

Hah must just be me then!

ID: h6q361t

You either get Playstation "Plus extra features" or Playstation games "NOW" I don't really see why its hard to mix up after the first time/7 seconds of research

ID: h6qejbf

Good lord lol, this is such a dickhead response. They have similar simple names and if your life doesn't revolve around video games it's pretty easy to mix em up occasionally.

16 : Anonymous2021/07/27 16:13 ID: h6pzh3h

Ps5 version? Cuz I know ps4 vers was on already

ID: h6q0eqs

Don’t believe there are any PS5 games on Now.

ID: h6qa1xk

Maybe they want all games to be streamable and they don’t have any ps5s to stream ps5 games. So if there is a ps5 game it would be download only.

ID: h6qa29a

Maybe they want all games to be streamable and they don’t have any ps5s to stream ps5 games.

17 : Anonymous2021/07/27 16:26 ID: h6q15f7

PS5 version too or just the PS4 one?

18 : Anonymous2021/07/27 19:04 ID: h6qn4jz

Play this if you like a good story

19 : Anonymous2021/07/27 19:04 ID: h6qn5y2

I activated PS Now 7* Days Free Trial and finished Judgment before it expired. It was awesome.

20 : Anonymous2021/07/27 19:11 ID: h6qo4ma

I understand there’s a bigger install base of PS4’s, but it really is disappointing that they’re not putting PS5 versions of games in the service.

I’ll continue to not subscribe until that changes.

21 : Anonymous2021/07/27 19:16 ID: h6qotwk

Too bad Sony doesn’t want to make psnow appealing to ps5 players by offering, oh, I don’t know, actual ps5 games/upgrades.

23 : Anonymous2021/07/27 19:54 ID: h6qtzh9

I have it never played same with yakuza.

24 : Anonymous2021/07/27 20:12 ID: h6qwdeh

Does this follow yakuza story? Or is it a standalone game?

25 : Anonymous2021/07/27 20:31 ID: h6qz014

I just bought the game and I have to say. I never really completed any yakuza games before, but so far judgement is amazing and filled with things to do.

26 : Anonymous2021/07/27 20:37 ID: h6qzukv

Shame no free upgrade for those of us that bought the PS4 version ;(

27 : Anonymous2021/07/27 20:38 ID: h6qzw63

Not ps5 version btw

28 : Anonymous2021/07/27 20:40 ID: h6r07l9

Played a bit of the ps now (ps4) version. Bought the ps5 version and beat it over the course of two weeks. It’s so good. I’m planning to actually try to get into the yakuza series as a result

29 : Anonymous2021/07/27 20:45 ID: h6r0vyo

Resubscribed to PS nowJust to play this game and now the PS5 version is only $25 tempting

30 : Anonymous2021/07/27 20:51 ID: h6r1q6b

It's one of my favorite games. Filled to the brim with content. If you thought Shenmue was great, wait till you play this. There are even toy capsules you can spend money on to decorate your office! This game just suck you right in. I don't care if it's budget, THIS is how video games should be.

31 : Anonymous2021/07/27 21:16 ID: h6r50ef

I just wanted an upgrade patch for the PS4 version owners.

32 : Anonymous2021/07/27 23:04 ID: h6rjc4a

Have the PS4 version but never finished it. Since getting a PS5 I’ve wanted to get back into it; but the fact that you can’t upgrade to the PS5 version for free is complete bullshit. Fuck the company for that since stuff like Miles Morales and Crash Bandicoot had free upgrades

33 : Anonymous2021/07/27 23:33 ID: h6rmy4q

Everytime I see these PS Now posts it pains me more and more as an Australian.

34 : Anonymous2021/07/27 19:22 ID: h6qpm4v

But we can't get a free upgrade for existing owners or even save transfer from ps4 to ps5 -_- I love Sega and RGG studios but this is grade a bs
