This looks so good. I haven't really enjoyed a crpg since pillers but I'm hyped as hell for this.
ID: h8jo975ID: h8kjswoThe first act of Kingmaker maybe. The city building really ruined the experience for me after that.

I loved Act 1 of Pathfinder. Then the god damn city management piece was introduced in Act 2 and it made me so frustrated.
You have this great crpg, but then they only let you play it 50% of the time while the 50% you are in menus about your kingdom. For also turning on auto kingdom management you get locked out of quests and end game gear.
ID: h8je9glIirc the game also made you feel like you were playing against a clock a lot of times. Can't remember how that mechanic worked but I hated hated hated it. Probably my favorite crpg gameplay wise aside from that.
ID: h8jo0lvThis was very true; some of the release bugs, however, were so off-putting, I had to just uninstall. Losing quest loot and gear you've equipped on characters was a real bummer.
ID: h8jf1d0You would constantly have negative events showing up if you didn't take rations with you, and you were penalized then for resting since 8 to 24 hours would pass which would bring more negative events closer to happening.
In a game where you need to rest to get your spells back due to limited use which I am fine with, it just sucks that there is such a negative penalty for it.

Just a reminder that the first game still bugged to hell on PS4 and crashes like a motherfucker even on PS5. Devs outright said that patching the game is low on list of priorities, because they're working on the new one. So yeah...
ID: h8k6phlThis is so tragic. I almost reinstalled on PS5, but then the memories of all the bugs/crashes on PS4 Pro came drifting back to me... and I just couldn't hit Download.

Glad to see this hitting consoles as well! More CRPGs are welcome.
Heard a lot of great things on Kingmaker (the previous game) from hardcore CRPG enthusiasts, so this should be even better.
ID: h8kug5qHaven't played Kingmaker on console, but it's great on PC, though some of the campaign mechanics are a bit annoying if you like taking your time exploring and doing side quests instead of focusing on the main quest. That said, there is plenty of time to do side content, but when the main quest wants you to do it you will be harshly penalized for ignoring it.

Kingmaker felt and played much better than Pillars. Kingmaker was ruined by bugs, however. I lost patience. Hopefully this new iteration corrects some strange dev choices from the earlier title.
