Ok, so let me start of by saying I haven’t bought a Madden on release since Madden 18 I think, I usually will wait for the price to go down and buy it then. Regardless of the fact that I’m not an all out Madden player, this game and the whole series is complete garbage, and it is every year. It’s shocking to me how many people still buy just a roster update every single year and drop well over $60 on a “brand new” game. As someone who’s a fan of football and enjoys video games, it’s unbelievably infuriating to see that EA got a lot of shtick last year for making a poorly designed game, a game they’ve been making exclusively every year for several years. And this year the game really has not improved at all, it’s regressed in terms of the bugs and how defenses can’t stop 1 guy on the field let alone a whole offense. I want a football game I can enjoy again. EA needs to get this thru their thick ass skulls and just take the time to actually develop a game. Instead of feeding into the money grabbing sides of the games with pointless MUT packs and coins. Gamers here are slightly to fault as well by buying all this crap, but EA would be making even more money if they actually took the time to develop the game more so than making sure a characters eyes look in the correct direction. I would rather my character have no eyes at all if it meant I could actually have fun playing the game.

Almost all licensed sports games have been shit except few exceptions

The only way EA will make improvements is if they start seeing a series decline in sales. Unfortunately, the sheep that buy it will continue to do so.
ID: hbu4ihwYep, and those same exact sheep spend hundreds of dollars on coins to get the same player they got last year. It’s so pointless and nothing is ever new and exciting. Even when it is, it’s a pay to win scheme or it’s full of bugs, almost like an alpha drop

Madden 07 was the last good one. It was all decaying of the mechanics and dying of the fun factor after that, repeat and rip off
ID: hbukv21Madden in the 2000’s were fun. I think ‘08 was the last good one in my book. I bought ‘10 and it was pretty bad.
ID: hbv6dd0Yeah, I feel like 08 is pretty good. Wasn’t it essentially 07 with a few more features?
-
Madden obviously peeked with Madden 08 on the DS
It what the funny white boy with brown hair and glasses told me
ID: hbvbhjdOh you mean Woz the Scott? Yeah he’s probably right.
-
It's funny to think it's 59.99 right now but in about 3 months it will be 19.99
ID: hbu4yi8Exactly my point. I can play the same garbage game in a few months for a fraction of the current price. If I knew it was good I would spend the full price on it.
-
I like madden. But fuck me i have disposable income and I’m okay paying $70/year for minor graphics and updated rosters.
-
Gameday 98 was my favorite football game.
-
Year after year millions of idiotic clowns pay full price for literal copy-pasted games while squealing in inept rage. There's no reason for them to try at all because you're just handing them money regardless. You deserve your shit games. Eat it up suckers.
-
The only reason people keep buying sports games from EA is because there’s literally no alternative. There’s no other AAA studio that makes sports games besides EA/2K and they know it, so they pump out mediocrity because where else are people gonna get it from?
ID: hbulsyoI mean you're right but literally all they have to do is not buy it for like 1-3 years.
-
just a roster update
regressed
Well, which is it? It can’t be both
-
The NHL series begs to differ
-
The madden games were only good u til like 2001... they ha e been garbage ever since
ID: hbv6o1m06-08 were pretty solid years.

Man, if you are going to rant at least use carriage returns. I can't read this wall of text.
-
You know there are number crunchers over at EA that have determined the cost/benefit of spending x amount more to make the game better wouldn't yield a much higher return on investment.
This is what happens when there's no competition for NFL rights. EA and other developers as well know that no matter how great an American Football game is, if it doesn't have NFL teams it won't sell.
ID: hbuce10I can see that. But even if they put a ton of money into it people would notice. I think it would generate more excitement than people think. But agreed, if multiple companies made an NFL game or hockey game, they wouldn’t be as garbage

well they messed up fifa too, tons of vids out there, havent bought fifa since 18 myself. i'd be best if they released a new game every 3 yrs or so. miss playing it before it got all scripted.
ID: hbv83wrNothing's changed between fifa 18 and fifa 20. Don't know about 21 but highly doubt anything has been added. The most 20 got was a shit tier version of fifa street. Atleast give me a proper version of fifa street if nothing else.
-
You gotta admit tho, madden 11 was fucking FIRE.
-
Well I had a lot of fun with the first one for sega
-
EA is by far the worst game developer. Micro transaction pay to win in every game they release.
ID: hbv89tzName one triple A publisher who doesn't do it as well.
ID: hbv9gyjNot the point. EA monopolizes the major sports industry. Instead of making the football game everyone wants the make the same trash game and add shiny cards and shit.
-
Almost every sports game nowadays is in a way just… bad.
A lot of the companies running them are only focused on profiting and absolutely nothing with how their fanbases perceive the game and what they want to be added/changed.
Only sports game I really had fun with is WWE 2K games because custom characters lol
-
Playing Randall Cunningham back on the original Madden on Genesis was pretty fun, though.

In other news water is wet.
ID: hbv87kyWater is actually not wet; It makes other materials/objects wet. Wetness is the state of a non-liquid when a liquid adheres to, and/or permeates its substance while maintaining chemically distinct structures. So if we say something is wet we mean the liquid is sticking to the object.
-
They spent the whole budget on the license. No money for updates or improvements.
-
I stopped the madden thing 4 or 5 years ago... And that was after having all at release since the first one. (I'm 48).
I finally came to my senses.
-
I ain't reading all that. I'm happy for you though. Or sorry that happened.
-
Idk man, the Madden games are awesome! I’ve loved every one I’ve owned! Let’s see.. I think the last two were ‘99 and ‘03.

Agreed even MLB has been slacking recently, nothing too new in that game that makes it exciting for me. NHL is a complete lost cause. Played last years game and was shocked at what the rosters looked like. Not even an accurate roster update. And they haven’t updated EASHL since it came out really so, incredibly frustrating
