Then you realise the game doesn’t have an asshole manager, underpaid staff, fridges, freezers, and ovens that break down every other week and asshole waiting staff who deliberately put through 5 tickets at the same time just to fuck with you because you wouldn’t make them lunch.

Like car mechanic simulator is a very fun game and pretty close to what you do while working on a car but you dont have to deal with keeping track of bolts, fumbling around trying to find the right socket for any of the bolts, actually torqueing down bolts to spec so you arent overtightening or under-tightening anything and fucking up the entire car, struggling to make certain parts fit into place, dealing with any of the grease or how hot a garage can get in the summer or dealing with trying to squeeze your hand into some super tight areas.
Instead you just focus on the fun aspect, figuring out whats wrong with the car and replacing the broken parts. Good times.

ID: hd8macnI worked in one on the weekends when I was 16, I was the only staff in that fucking place for 10 hours at a time.
Back then, we still sometimes had to use one of those fucking manual card swiper machines (with the paper press etc) whenever the card payment went down, which would happen fairly often. This was far too slow for getting through customers at a reasonable rate, and without any help, it meant if people drove off there was basically nothing I could do about it (its hard to report the time someone drives off if you have a never ending queue of people waiting to pay).
Fuck working in a gas station. There is no way this game is accurate, if it was, it would be called a misery simulator.
I still remember to this day that the guy who trained me for 1 weekend before he left told me that he takes the porn videos home and made copies of them. He spent more time telling me about the porn than how to lock the place up at night, close the accounts in the evening, sort out the float and all that other bullshit that I never want to have to think about again.

ID: hd7i4mbMore like proposing a service agreement. The future of gas stations is electric recharging after all. If they don't adapt the convenience store aspect, which is where they make a lot of money, real profits evaporate along with the petrol profits. Most stations only make 4-8 cents per gallon sold. That's less than $1 profit for an average car filling up 15 gallons. The real money comes from the store, not the gas.

.You're absolutely correct, and in fact there are already a lot of superchargers and other DCFCs at gas stations, with far more buildout planned.
Plus, I just straight up want to have a convenience store at my charging stop. On my last few trips I specifically stopped at superchargers that were at convenience stores or near fast food. Spend ~10-15 minutes at the charger, go to a clean(ish) bathroom and get a coffee? Yeah more of that please, lol!
