- Am I the only one that likes RE5 Alot more than 4?
-
I like them both but like 4 more. There was a point in 5 around like ch. 4? Where I just fell off the insane hype train. Don’t get me wrong, I still love the game but 4 managed to carry that momentum for the whole game(even its undesirable parts, ch 5-1 and 5-2 I’m looking at you).
ID: hptoolwID: hptq0ylI agree with this 5-3 was easily one of the best 5-4 wasn’t bad but 5-3 was the highlight of the island although I did enjoy the Saddler fight.
Edit: I feel that act 1 and 2 were so good that act 3 wasn’t bad just was definitely not as perfect as the first 2 were.
ID: hpub3kyRE4 has the same problem but even worse than RE5. The Castle is full of junk and the island is terrible. RE5 has very low points, but it never dips as low as a majority of RE4 does.
ID: hpucc5pI enjoyed the castle personally.

I'm sure you're not. I will always love 4 a bit more but I loved the coop and progression of re 5. I still fire it up and play with randoms every now n then. Mercenaries is a blast on re 5 as well imo.
ID: hptks6wYeah there is a mod which let's you play with 4 players in mercenaries which is really fun ngl
ID: hpto6vkGot a link to that mod?
-
I'm right there with you just because RE5 co-op and the mercenaries mode was so fun.
I had to play once as Chris, once as Sheva, then I found out I could get infinite ammo with pretty much any gun and would run through again just absolutely destroying everything.
4 is a great game as well but I had much more fun with 5.
-
I prefer RE5 over RE4 since I feel RE5 has less tedious areas then RE4 with RE5 having the one short mine segment and the rail shooter chapter 2-3 but RE4 has a longer mine segment with a boring mine cart ride and I dislike pretty much the whole island segment in RE4. I enjoyed the coop in RE5 especially in mercenaries mode making me play it much more then 4 mercenaries. One thing that I dislike about RE4 that many love about it is Leon's character I found him annoying especially on multiple playthroughs where at this point I've told Leon to shut up more than Ashley.
If RE4 gets a remake in the style of the RE2 and RE3 remakes I kind of want Capcom to just make Ashley the main character since she has no combat training which would allow Capcom to make it more survival horror with her getting a better character arc with her starting out afraid and weak but growing more competent as the game goes on.

5 has much better pacing and cut out a lot of the repetitive bullshit that bogged down RE4. It also had a plot that related to the previous games, unlike 4.
-
No.
You are not.
I also enjoy 5 more than 4.
-
Not surprised, RE 5 is one of the greatest coop games ever made. RE 5 simplified the inventory system too so you seldomly take a break from the action. Not to mention, more Wesker in the story as well.
-
I find myself playing 5 more but I think I prefer 4.
-
I prefer 5. They’re both top games, but Chris is mah boi.
-
I really like both but I do rank 5 higher. Very close though.
-
Am i the only fan that enjoys 6 more then 5?
-
Ye probably you are
-
Wah....?
-
RE5 is a great Coop game. Me and my friend have beaten that game about 6 times and on professional difficulty. However overall I think RE4 has more to offer and a more enjoy able experience but they feel completely different as RE5 I have never played solo player.
-
Nope, now hug me brotha!
-
I liked RE5 because it had:
Good gameplay
Good story
Ties into the series' recurring themes of "eugenics is bad", "unrestrained capitalism is bad" and "the US government is corrupt".
-
Never thought I would ever see that question asked. You si
'am are a legend. Also I'm the other only person who prefers 5 over 4.ID: hptlqi0What makes you prefer 5 over 4?
ID: hptm1feCo-op, the characters, extra game modes, and the laughably cheesy story.
ID: hpu8oyeI also prefer 5 over 4. For me it's mostly how it handles and the co-op features. I tried to play 4 before and made it about 3 or 4 hours in and just lost interest.
-
I can get the consensus that RE4 is the better game but I personally prefer RE5 and I think that each is as good as the other it just depends if you fancy playing solo or coop
ID: hptpujbI agree!
-
How dare you! You’re not allowed to think differently from everyone else >:(
-
I agree 5 is one of my favorite while 4 is my least. 5 had so many more places I enjoyed going and had better controls also I played it multiple times in co op. While 4 I have played and beaten many times and there are so many places that feel like a chore to play through
ID: hptz7wy5 to like those caves they got boring fast
ID: hpubjj9I always feel like caves and mines are really boring settings in games. 5 overall has great locations though, I really love the temple section in particular
-
I agree
-
I feel like RE4 broke the mold and RE5 refined it. In my opinion, RE5 plays better than RE4; more fluid and less choppy movement. RE4 however has a much better story line, enemies, scenery, bosses, etc. To each their own though.
ID: hptpqw1Re5 objectively plays better and has better graphics seeing its from 09
-
Not more than RE4 but i do. Both games are so awesome. I started to like the idea of visiting different regions throughout the world.
-
Side note: Would 5 had been better if Sheva was replaced by Jill?
ID: hptln66Would be the same just with Jill lol they were going to have Barry as Chris partner at some point
ID: hptpreuI really liked Lost in Nightmares. That mission captured the horror that 5 could have had, in a co-op setting. They still could have gone to Africa and confronted Wesker with Sheva’s help.
-
My personal order is 6,5,4.
ID: hpts2idWhat makes 6 your fav
-
*a lot
-
Probably but i thought both were great
-
Only thing that pissed me off about 5 was sheva. Not her as a character. WHY THE FUCK WAS SHE LEFT HANDED! Shoulda been an option to change what side.
ID: hpunx19Reason why Sheva,Piers, Helena and Sherry uses their left hand as dominant one is because of the split screen when you play in multiplayer. If both characters were righties it would look different. If you ever played Resident Evil 5 in split screen on PS3 you'll know what I mean. But yeah,I don't know why they didn't add option to switch hand in Resident Evil 5.They did in in RE6 which is also split screen so my guess is technical limitations or something like that.
-
I guess the AI for Sheva ruins the fun of the game. It’s a great game, but it seems to be only enjoyable with a friend. Kind of like Obscure, but Obscure has better AI
-
I used to preferred RE4 but then I got sick of all of fans that keep praising RE4 as definition of the franchise and "godlike" perfection of video game. I mean yeah, Resident Evil 4 was and still is masterpiece and was waaaay ahead of it's time, but it's getting boring constantly listening fans who look Leon and superduper franchise poster boy.
Resident Evil 4 should definitely NOT be representation of the franchise. Everyone has their opinion, but fans who present Re4 as gaming perfection and Leon as most coolest character ever with "super personality" made game much less likable for me. I think that they don't give rest of fantastic titles in the franchise chance to get their spot and appreciation they deserve.
I will probably get same treatment like Leon in Re4 with Dr. Salvador's chainsaw because of this comment but I honestly don't care.

RE5 is too sunny for my taste

Luckily 5-3 and 5-4 pick up the pace, which I never see people say. 5-3 is probably one of my favorite chapters.
