- I made Mario Golf, with a twist!
-
I wanna see speedruns of this

"I'm a ball, Luigi!"
ID: hr2wqlpThe sprite is from Super Mario Ball on the GBA
I've NEVER played this game, but for some reason the sprite was a repressed memory that came up as soon as I started prototyping this thing, love this little guy
ID: hr39dyc100%
ID: hr4rq5oIt’s one of my favorite games for GBA. Highly recommended

Nintendo would like to know your whereabouts.....
-
How can I play this?
ID: hr3xsnqGiven the assets used I don't really wanna throw out a download link.
That being said, I might swap out the Mario assets and put it on the Play Store (I've ported it to Android already, works pretty well!)
ID: hr438hgGame looks really fun. I would love it try out
-
EDIT: The clip does have sound, not sure if it autoplays for you, sure doesn't for me
Made this as a little personal project messing around in Unity. Idea has been in my head since they announced the Mario Golf game on Switch and I finally decided to make it.
Also works on Android, but obviously I can't go around posting download links considering the assets I used!
-
could you not just like fly up if your fast enough or is there a cooldown or something?
ID: hr3wk2zCan only launch Mario when he's grounded!
-
Nintendo on it's way to sue you
-
22 strokes. Ouch
-
Would play on steam for a dollar.
-
@dgr on YouTube gotta play this one
-
Nice
-
Gives off some "What The Golf" vibes, nice work!
-
Was waiting for twist and then went “YESSSSSS!” hahaha
-
Crazy, how'd you make it?
-
This looks fun as hell!
-
Is there no stroke penalty for dropping the ball in the pit?
-
At first I was like wow... that's lame AF. Look, mario falls down the pit and only gets teleported back...
And then the mushroom came... Man I laughed so hard, this is genius. Cheers!
PS: I made a super mario in Allegro 4 as my first full game, part of the multimedia project at school. I'm not sure if it was Allegro or my actual programming skills (or rather, lack thereof) but I ended up with a pile of steaming shit with floating hardcoded turtles, taking 16GB RAM and a memory leak that made the game crash in 6 minutes, which I somewhat fixed long enough to not crash during the demo. I'm genuinely amazed at how you even have destructible stuff with physics and proper collisions.
ID: hr4kga8I think it's harder to make an Allegro game that takes up 16Gb RAM than it is to include a basic physics library which will handle 2D collisions (Box2D, etc.).
I knocked up a plane game like Altitude in under 24 hours (minus the artwork, but I did have a piece of code that took any bitmap, turned it into vectors, then turned those vectors into a single physics object weighted according to the volume, so all you needed to do was "draw" a plane and it would load into the game and become front-heavy or whatever as your drawing depicted).
Certainly didn't take 16Gb of RAM. For a start the machine I did it on was only 12Gb, and it was done in Eclipse CDT. I think it took a few megabytes of RAM.
-
Would make a great mobile game.
-
Measured in strokes. As all things should be.
-
That’s pretty dope
-
To be fair I would buy this.
-
Very cool though I feel you missed a trick not putting a hole under the ending flagpole!
-
That escalated really quick
-
In before nintendo takes down this post, takes down the game and sues the person
-
Looks like good fun
-
Reminds me of that Kirby game on the WiiU that no one played but me.
-
Well, seems like you can't wait getting sued by Nintendo
-
Not gonna lie, that does look kinda fun.
-
Was neat, then he got the mushroom, and things took a turn. lol
