Is RE3 scary?

Hi Guys! I am a newcomer to the RE series and recently completed RE8(my first RE game). The scare factor of RE8 was pretty manageable for someone like me who barely plays horror games. I’m now thinking on getting RE3 and was wondering how scary it is compared to RE 8 as I am really bad when dealing with jumpscares. Thanks!

Nemesis chasing you can be a bit scary but it has not many jumpscares and is easier to handle then RE8's scary moments.

No one in here can tell me that Nem busting through the wall didn’t jump scare them at least once

Having watched a couple of let’s plays I knew it was coming when I played it myself, and I still jumped out of my skin, lol.

It's more action than horror. Sure there's zombies, but they're easily dispatched.

It’s scary how short of a game it is

Yes it's scary. I'm a chicken shit though. Every time there's a new resident evil I get super pumped and buy it right away but remember the shit I have to put myself through to beat it lol. Resident evil 3 isn't too bad though as far as being scary, I found 2 to be scarier, and I have not played 7 yet because God damn...

I found 2 to be quite frightening, but I beat 7 in like two days with ease. I didn't find it quite frightening.

I am a Total chicken wuss with regards to horror. Bought resident evil 4-6, RE2 RE3 and eventually RE7 during a mad discount period.

Let's say my first run through on RE2, I could not play through the segments with Mr X following me in one sitting because I just could not take the suspense of an unkillable glacier slowly descending upon me.

I actually alt F4 my game when nemesis first punched through the wall in RE3.

But I've tried RE7, And that is way scarier than RE2/3.

First play through, maybe take it in small bites, and overtime they get less scary.

I consider re8 to be the only scary resident evil. You're obviously easily scared if you're asking in the first place but, I'd say no, neither the original nor the remake are scary.

You consider RE8 to be the only scary one…

Just the fact that you’re in 3rd person makes it much less scary, the jump scares/fear factor are minimal compared to RE7 and RE8

Base PS4 bug question: I am about 3/4 done with the game and suddenly my game stops accepting L1 and R1 inputs. So I can’t view my archives, change my grenade launcher ammo, etc. has anyone else encountered this, or know of any workarounds? I updated my PS4, did a hard restart on the game/console, still nothing

Its not really scary at all. If you are looking for a terrifying experience, play Re7 on the hardest difficulty.
