RE7 is such a good survival horror and RE game

I beat this game once and it still scared me at times during the 2nd run. I like that they hide items and don't make them plainly obvious to find. Enemies provide a challenge as they can kill you quickly. The only ones that can be annoying are the 4 legged molded because they move fast and can be hard to shoot. The 4 legged molded are best to kill when they haven't seen you yet and you can headshot them. I really enjoy the main house and old house sections of the game the best. The part I probably like the least is the wrecked ship, not because it's bad in any way but it's challenging.

I'm of the opinion that an RE7 has the best chance of being adapted to an at least decent movie. From the setting to the villains, downright to the blank slate protagonist that is Ethan Winters, which you could cast just about anyone for his role instead of someone who doesn't fit at all (ahem, Leon), a good filmmaker would be able to pull off a grindhouse-esque horror movie in the veins of Texas Chainsaw and Evil Dead, and make it cool as hell.

It can be a bit cheesy but still horrifying, filled with body horror imagery and a gothic influence in the form of the Louisiana swamps, and throw in a few RE references and voila!

I would absolutely be down for an RE7 movie.

Its top 5 out of the re games ive played and I still find it fun on my 8th run through but the boat scene isnt challanging to me but instead just tedious and drawn out and either leads to a repeat boss fight or mias "death" like the 3rd fake out at that point

I loved 7. Just needed more enemy variety for me. I actually preferred 7 much more than village. Seems like an unpopular opinion!!

I wish we saw some molded in re8. Like in some of the underground areas, or atleast maybe some different versions, because it's a different strain

I'm with you. Village was great, but I enjoyed the narrative elements of 7 far more. Village was really lacking in that department. I don't know if I have a preference when it comes to gameplay, both the classic and RE4 style are good.

Same, the reason why Village is inferior to RE7 for me is because RE7 has an identity, it knows what it wants to be and sticks with it. Village on the other hand changes it's identity from area to area, and therefor doesn't have the cohesion it should have.

I actually prefer 1st person like in 7 and 8. I feel it really adds to the horror feeling

Finally, thought I was the only person in the world who preferred 1st person.

Yea it feels more smooth and adds to immersion. I think in 9, they should just do cutscenes in 3rd person

Its my second favriote after the remake of 1

I’m a simple man. I see RE7, i upvote.

Agreed with everything. The shipwreck was a tad too long for me, but it was pretty great how you play as Mia. The progression from hiding/helpless, to having to lay traps to kill enemies, to blasting faces with your rifle. Felt good, just a bit too long. I was ready to leave

Yeah but without it it would only be like 4 hours. I just think they should have placed it earlier in the game cuz its absolutely fucks up the pacing

A good survival horror game.... Sure.

Doesnt give the chance of playing Madhouse since the start and in normal difficulty the game gives you insane amounts of ammo when you are going to face a boss, 0 enemy variety, 0 challenge during the game, but okay survival horror because people get scared by everything.

It being survival horror wasnt my disagreement. Personally I like my survival horror games to have some combat I have to survive but I get that it has some survival horror elements.

I only enjoy the game up until Jack gets chainsawed. After that the one cool thing is Marguarite boss fight for me

Same, I love RE7 more than I should, and I wish it had the complexity of RE2 Remake.

1st time round its easily top 3 for me, doesn't hold much replay value in terms of weapons. In my opinion its not worth playing more than 5 times. Village on the other hand is quite the opposite, still an amazing game but not as good on the 2st run as 7 and it has amazing replay value in terms of bonuses, makes speed running the game more unique xD
