What are your thoughts on resident evil 7
-
One of the best games in the series (and one of my favorite games of all time). I give it that title because not only did it return to the roots of horror, but it brought a fresh take on the series in more ways than one.
-
I loved it. Especially the house parts at the start.
-
Excellent. Would be one of my favorites if it had skippable cutscenes.

I love it it's tied with village for my fave RE game. If your someone who can get scared easily I'd recommend turning the games brightness up. It is honestly in my top 10 favourite games of all.time.only beaten by dmc5 and horizon zero dawn and forbidden west

Rebooted my love for the series!
-
You’re on the RE sub. Of course we all like it lol
-
Love the game but not being able to skip cutscenes was a pain during multiple playthroughs
-
The second best re game
-
I was skeptical about the switch to first person but capcom really out did themselves. An excellent game and an amazing resident evil title

Scariest horror game ever
-
The story is meh and was generic, for gameplay puzzles were too easy compared to early resident evil games and relied on too many jump scares and not enough atmosphere compared to other good or great horror games, didn't have man vs. man and man vs. nature/science themes, and cheesiness of series. Plus, having the man vs. supernatural/ mystery element was ok. Still, the developers didn't go far enough because either developer didn't know what to do with it or was afraid to push it to avoid backlash from fans of resident evil. Overall, from story to gameplay, it feels like Capcom made a new horror game but was afraid to release it as the new title, so they attached the biohazard/ resident evil name to get sales and recognition for it.

It's good but the lack of enemy variety really sucks, and once you get to the boat especially the quality drops a lot for me. But it's got great dlc modes also. Lastly the lack of skipable cutscenes hurts my very soul.
-
It was great, especially in VR. I thought I could handle horror games, but I needed to take a break after a couple of the boss fights.
-
For me, its my favorite RE, and it lives on as one of my favorite first play throughs of any game ever. Village came close to beating it but 7, especially with the DLC, still wins out.
Subsequent play throughs can a become a slog at points, and as other people have mentioned, the lack of enemy variety is rough as well. But overall it’s truly a masterpiece. Plus I love Ethan and think he’s hilarious. So that helps as well.

It's my favorite RE and my favorite horror game I've ever played. It's a terrifying game with loveable, well written villains who are also pretty scary. I swear, Jack is so deranged that one moment he's a Jason style slasher villain, and then the next says the line "Nice car, Ethan" as he crushes you with a gar in a tiny garage.
I love it, and I haven't stopped talking about it five years down the line now. My partner and I quote it all the damn time.
-
Loved my first run on the game, haven’t returned since. My plan was to 100% the game and get all the DLC too, however the second I realised the cutscenes were unskippable when trying to go into another run I gave up haha.
-
It’s a cool game but I wish there was more variety in enemies.
-
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
I give it a 4.5/5 maybe even a 5 on a good day.
It's very good, I might replay it soon tbh. I do hate the lack of enemy variety, but that's really my only complaint.

Yeah this is really destroying repeated walkthroughs for me
