Also I’ve had black flickering on occasion which I believe is the HDMI. I ordered a 48gbps cable to hopefully resolve that issue. Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks

Are you sure you don't have Freesync premium enabled? That's what disables Dolby Vision, not VRR. You can have both VRR and Dolby Vision enabled.

You should use VRR while gaming and Dolby Vision for movies.
A new ultra high speed hdmi will likely not change anything with the black flickering, how often is it happening?

Check this video out. These are hands down the best settings for the CX. Also DO NOT enable AMD FreeSync Premium, it disables Dolby Vision and offers nothing of value over the open standard VRR which is essentially the same feature, but doesn’t require disabling Dolby Vision to function.
I also get the black flickering, only in Destiny for some reason (and only during certain loading screens). A new HDMI won’t fix this, since I also tried that solution. I believe it’s an issue with the Xbox (or perhaps even certain games) since I never see the flickering when watching stuff on my Apple TV.
ID: gq7agagI followed his guide and my screen looks really dark now. Is this normal?

I’m not sure what was going on. It was working fine on port 1 then suddenly said no signal and wouldn’t work any longer on that port. I switched to port 2 and it seems to be okay now.
Is there no way to have both Dolby Vision and VRR both enabled and the TV can pick up which one I’m currently playing? (ex. rocket league and netflix)
