On PS4 for example, you can play the remakes for RE1-3, but not the original PS1 versions. That could be fixed if Sony added backwards compatibility for the PS1 Classics to PS4 and PS5. The last consoles PS1 Classics were available on was PS3 and Vita. The PS1 Classics are already part of the store (at least what was ported back then). They just have to be implemented to be accessible on newer consoles.

I agree with what they’re saying, but at the same time I have been continuing to play these games and I haven’t owned an OG playstation in decades. It’s incredibly cheap and easy to set something up like Retropie. This is the only full-proof way to guarantee access to these titles unless you want to keep a psx around. Even if Capcom put out a collection, what happens next-gen? The games are stuck on that previous console until they release it again on the new console and we buy it again. If Sony would actually make it so that all of your content carries from one console to the next and companies like Capcom played ball, I would kinda feel differently. I understand the PS5 kinda does this, so we’ll see if this becomes standard practice going forward.

Capcom should have remastered the classic trilogy instead of giving us REverse. So many people would have been happy.

I have all the GameCube versions which is still play, but 1, 2, 3:N and CV:X would look so great on the Switch!

There’s not a big enough audience. Most people would rather play the remakes. They’re prettier with better gameplay.
