Should I rather get outlast 2 or the evil within 1. If you compare prices at deals.gg, outlast 2 is more expensive but I really wanted to know what game is better. Thank you for your opinion!

Evil within 1 definitely, outlast 2 has less game mechanics and has so much gore that there’s no real build up between plot points. Dlc is good too

Evil Within 1 by a long shot its a quasi-spiritual re4 while being its weird self (not in a bad way).

I would say Outlast 2 if you've recentlu.played outlast 1 but i would probably say Evil within cause its probably better

Depends on what you want, especially since neither game were particularly praised.
Outlast 2 had a lot of linear set pieces where you essentially just run forward, and I don't remember any puzzles. I personally, don't consider that kind of gameplay too entertaining. Still, in this sense, it is a straightforward experience. The graphics are solid, and the lightning and setting do a good job at setting the mood. There's plenty of shock imagery too, if that's what you like. The story isn't half bad either. This game is like a roller coaster.
Evil Within is a weird one, because its gameplay frequently varies from linear cinematic stuff to brief stealth sections, and to more action focused segments. Even the pacing and levels vary frequently. The graphics are dated, and the controls feel a bit stiff. However, its still a lot more gameplay than what you'd get from Outlast 2. Also, the characters are pretty boring, but the story is pretty intriguing. Cerebral, and requiring you to put some of it together yourself. I really like the Evil Within for its horror ideas, though. Things like the booby traps, enemy design, and level design.
I enjoyed both games well enough, but I found more interest and replay value in the Evil Within, especially since it had dlc.

Depends cause I’ve played both. Evil Within is more difficult and unforgiving, but the story is cool and the atmosphere is horrifying without overwhelming the player with Gore like someone mentioned, I do believe it’s longer than Outlast 2 as well so you are getting more game along with more complex mechanics like crafting AND you can fight back. Outlast 2 is kinda more of Outlast with great atmosphere but it borders on sensory overload with the gore factor (idk about you but I don’t particularly care for some of the undertones either). Honestly I’d get Evil Within and then pick up Outlast 2 should you want.

The Evil Within 1 for sure. It's such a fun and spooky game. I loved it, though, I will say the sequel is even better.

Apples and Oranges. In Evil Within a lot of times you are armed and can fight enemies, Outlast 2 you are basically helpless and sneaking and fleeing. Outlast 2 will probably cause a lot of stress which to me makes it a great horror game! Evil Within I really like because it feels a lot like Resident Evil Silent Hill in a way but different enough to not seem like a copy.
Depends on which you are in the mood for in my opinion. I enjoyed them both!

Outlast 2, in my opinion. I found The Evil Within to be more infuriating than fun or even scary.

Not enough love out here for The Evil Within 1, it's an underrated masterpiece imo. Most people prefer the sequel, but that game is nowhere near as good as the first

The Evil Within. It's an acquired taste, but pretty great if you get into it. The story isn't for everyone but gameplay is solid. Also, the sequel is better in nearly every way and by a wide margin, so even if you don't like 1, you might like 2 anyway.
ID: gpvn3zbI always find myself to be that one weirdo who likes The Evil Within 1 more than 2. The atmosphere, the difficulty, the story that confuses everybody and the gameplay structure. Although I will admit I enjoyed the second game a lot too
