Nintendo please, just drop the price.

Nintendo: no, I don’t think I will..

ID: gqlr3ci

They're still gonna sell like hotcakes, no need to price it lower

ID: gqm5zy0

That's the problem. Nintendo fanboys are really a special kind of people.

ID: gqmaohq

Exactly, there’s a reason MK8 deluxe is still $60 3 years later

ID: gqm8l8q

Nah, in about 10 years you'll see it listed for 50 when the console isn't made anymore and maybe for 40 a few years later when nintendo doesn't offer support for the switch anymore. Then suddenly overnight the game is "nostalgic" and is now $100 for the game alone $300 with box.

ID: gqmdv78

Nintendo: "Well are you still buying it at $60?"

OP: "Well yea, I want to play the game again."

Nintendo: "Then why would we charge less?"

OP: "Because I want you to."

3 : Anonymous2021/03/11 19:07 ID: gqls5ke

They'll drop the price when you stop re-buying games multiple times for full price.

ID: gqm8r8o

Nah, they’ll just stop releasing them until we give in.

4 : Anonymous2021/03/11 17:19 ID: gqlcx99

I think a far better example would be comparing Zelda: Skyward Sword HD to the Resident Evil 2 Remake. Both cost $60, but RE2 was a complete remake from the ground up.

ID: gqlfp5a

And is barely 2 years old and has been available new for like $12 for over a year. REmake 3, barely a year old, is on sale right now for like $17. Both together are like $30. And although REmake 3 is disappointing, both are complete 100% remakes.

Meanwhile Nintendo's charging $60 for Galaxy, Sunshine, and a 1:1 port of SM64 that literally didn't even have anything done to it.

ID: gqljcyy

Yeah whenever I hear anything about nintendo these days I just prepare myself for disappointment.

ID: gqlwb70

But meanwhile, another 1:1 port, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, is still on the weekly top 10 of games sold to this day.

5 : Anonymous2021/03/11 20:32 ID: gqm3nmu

Send a real message and don’t buy it.....

6 : Anonymous2021/03/11 16:50 ID: gql8u92

Nintendo, gaming's Apple.

ID: gqlueko

"Happy Mario Day! Hell no we're not putting Odyssey on sale."

edit: I'm basing this entirely on surfing the Nintendo eShop; I haven't bought a physical game since I stopped working at Gamestop 10 years ago.

ID: gqlz5h5

I copped Oddysey with a Switch Pro Controller, total was $70. The game was just an extra $10 with the controller.

Obviously only useful if you want the controller too.

7 : Anonymous2021/03/11 22:57 ID: gqmmmq7

Seriously the Halo MCC is such a steal. $40 for ALL the Halos games + remasters + Multiplayer + PC optimization + new things not seen on the consoles? Take my money Microsoft you're doing a amazing job!

ID: gqmoxwt

And the whole thing even is on Gamepass, basically you can get it for like $10

ID: gqmwe1b

now it's wonderful, when it came out on xbox in 2013 it was rubbish.

ID: gqn7coz

Plus it has the best battle pass system in gaming. Each battle pass is given automatically at the start of a new season, it's free, and you can go back and unlock anything you want from all previous battle passes just by playing the game so you can't miss any of the stuff in the rewards tracks. And I got a new unlock token for an item after like every match. It's stupidly consumer friendly.

343 has had a lot of missteps with Halo and the MCC started off bad but these days it's basically the best value for a single "game" out there.

8 : Anonymous2021/03/11 18:55 ID: gqlqeus

You could add Mass Effect Legendary Edition too. Fully remastered, reworked gameplay, 3 game and all DLC for all 3 games: $60

ID: gqlwd4f

With Xbox Game pass it’s already discounted 10% on the preorder. Fun fact.

ID: gqmbwm2

Because GamePass includes EA Play now.

9 : Anonymous2021/03/11 17:59 ID: gqlikqs

in my country it costs $75 dolars the zelda

ID: gqmhu1x

$80 in Canada, which is hilarious because that game was $60 when it was brand new.

ID: gqmypi6

It's a crisp hundo after tax. It's truly absurd.

ID: gqmmjgw

This is probably my favorite comment of all time. Thanks for the laugh.

10 : Anonymous2021/03/11 19:44 ID: gqlx39r

I'll vote with my wallet and skip this one. Again.

11 : Anonymous2021/03/11 20:12 ID: gqm0zfx

Everyone likes to shit on XBox but man the monthly deals they have in their marketplace are pretty fucking awesome, I seriously never buy full priced games anymore.

ID: gqm8fwi

On top of that they're more than generous with how long things stay on gamepass, i mean back when fallout 4 was on I basically 100% completed the game before it was off, never had to buy it. Reminds me of going to blockbuster tbh

ID: gqmad6i

No reason to buy games at all. Gamepass rules.

12 : Anonymous2021/03/11 18:04 ID: gqlj5oh

There appear to be major shill children here.

Crash collection is 3 entire games remade from scratch.

Halo MCC is 6 games - 2 of them complete remasters, all 6 of them including additional CG and animated cutscenes - about 60 of them in total- plus all DLC for every game. universal multiplayer modes that unify the entire series, plus cross-game playlists, 4 of the games never released on PC plus all 6 of them modified even further for PC.

Skyward Sword HD is a 1:1 port of the Wii game with upscaled textures for 16:9 aspect ratio.

It's completely ridiculous just how good of a deal the Halo MCC is.

Skyward Sword supported 16:9 on the Wii.

ID: gqmbzsk

I thought they at least added limited mobility support so you can control the sword with the right analogue stick if you want.

13 : Anonymous2021/03/11 17:34 ID: gqlf14r

Ive always called it "the nintendo tax"

14 : Anonymous2021/03/11 18:07 ID: gqljlr9

Nintendo: We don't do that here

26 : Anonymous2021/03/11 20:49 ID: gqm61mq

Why would Nintendo drop the price when people are still gonna buy it

16 : Anonymous2021/03/11 18:20 ID: gqllg5e

I'd buy so many more Switch games if they actually did sales. Not the 0.03% off! crap they pull or the expiring Nintendo points.

Get with it Nintendo.

17 : Anonymous2021/03/11 20:06 ID: gqm05hy

If people will pay, why drop the price?

18 : Anonymous2021/03/11 18:18 ID: gqll7bh

Nintendo is the Disney (and the Edison) of gaming

ID: gqlxpfx

For a limited time only! Own these classic titles before they are locked away in the vaults, forever!

ID: gqm14g9

At least Disney can internet.

Nintendo is just now barely supporting an online ecosystem. Hell for the longest time purchases were tied to consoles and not accounts.

19 : Anonymous2021/03/11 22:00 ID: gqmfkjt

Everythng is worth what its purchaser will pay for it.

20 : Anonymous2021/03/11 16:56 ID: gql9pw3

Man it is painful to watch nintendrones break their spines bending over backwards to constantly defend Nintendo.

You guys need to wake up. It’s extra hilarious because Nintendo is by far the most abusive out of the big three to it’s fanbase, yet they have no shortage of shills. Amazing.

ID: gqlbz1o

Their games are still my favorite but with the switch they’ve become borderline predatory. I won’t pretend they haven’t.

ID: gqmc7ha

True, the switch has $60 ports of old ass games, you have to pay for online which doesn't work, pay for cloud saves which aren't supported for every game, and then not even guaranteed to work for games that do support cloud saves, faulty hardware with both the joycons and the original switch models having problems when you left it docked for too long and then claiming it wasn't a problem after they realized how big of a problem it was and they didn't like that they were having to fix their mess for free so now they are pretending it doesn't exist so they can blame consumers and have people buy either a complete replacement for $70 USD (which is the most expensive of any controller and the least durable of the big 3) or buy second hand for $35 from Gamestop (who are probably also selling drifters themselves)

Then there is the Switch Lite which has the problem that when Drift happens to it (which it does) it's now a $200 fee to replace or you can buy a pro controller and just connect to it wirelessly and hope that the lite still doesn't register the joycon inputs and just ruin your console. Then there is the issue with them being so so damn hypocritical stating they don't want people to make money off their products/services but DMCA claim even a millisecond of Nintendo footage in an hour-long YT video claiming all revenue from it for a product/service they didn't create or basically strong-arm you into their "Nintendo's Creator club" where you have to agree to a bunch of arbitrary BS just so you can showcase anything Nintendo related and all for the low price of only 70% of your income (or 50% I forgot how much they are wanting from it)

Not to mention that it really seems that they are just paying for exclusivity for their current Switch game line up with a lot of games that were set to be on PC/PS4/Xbone now only being on Switch and Nintendo fanboys will just go "everyone does it, that's how the industry works" while they froth at the mouth demanding switch ports for any game that releases a trailer or an announcement.

Sorry for the long rant. I've had this on my chest for a bit.

ID: gqldb30

They always have had high price points for their first party games, even Remakes. Switch has the pricest games in Nintendo History, but that's just normal given some games for other platforms are even USD$70 already when released (yeah, I know they discount those really fast). Everything is more expensive nowadays than when the Wii was first released.

Nintendo has been predatory since old times. It's not a new thing. I guess it being more popular because of the Switch makes many people think their high prices are something new. But they are not new.

ID: gqm28s1

I’m still waiting for donkey Kong tropical freeze to go on sale. A Wii U game sitting at $60 since I bought my switch in ‘17.

It’s actually ridiculous.

21 : Anonymous2021/03/11 20:05 ID: gqlzzz7

If people keep buying, The company will keep going to the well

23 : Anonymous2021/03/11 18:33 ID: gqlndmd

Why should they lower the price? People keep buying it at those prices despite complaining about it. Vote with your money, not your social media posts. This is the true meaning of "The Customer Is Always Right"

24 : Anonymous2021/03/11 19:40 ID: gqlwjfr

how about the last one but released yearly for the same price and changes? HI EA.

25 : Anonymous2021/03/11 19:49 ID: gqlxt7m

Laughs in Yuzu

27 : Anonymous2021/03/11 20:07 ID: gqm0bgd

I think it’s not so much a matter of maximising profits, and more a matter of strategically establishing a high-value mindset through pricing. Nintendo’s like yeah our games cost $60 forever cause they’re worth it
