Nothing will ever be as scary as the hunters in the original game. I still get nervous when I leave the guardhouse and go back to the mansion.

This ! Plus that scary cut scene !

You emerge from the save room at the bottom of the stairs then a hunter leaps the banister on the second floor and rains down on top of you.

[Insert new game's name here] is better than any other game in the [game series name] series so far.

Well they are marketing the new game, what do you want them to say?

"So this game is good but RE1 Remake was better bro"

Like how RE3R Nemesis was going to make Mr. X look like a bitch, but ended up being less threatening than a Magikarp on weed?

RE3R wasn’t made by a capcoms main teams!!! When are people going to understand that, RE2R was great because it was made in house, similar to RE7 and RE8

Don't you disparage my boy Magikarp iike that!

re3r nemesis still stings for me. It's why I'm hoping they make Lady D what Nemy was supposed to be like in re3r

I hope so. The resident evil genre needs smarter A.I. Nothing is more scarier than the unknown/unpredictable or something that we do not understand.

Horror games have always relied on abonimations, jump scares and atmosphere. But true horror is something that you cannot comprehend. So I'm excited for these new types of enemies. We need a new mascot of assholery or just genuine scare factor like the hunter or the regenarator.

Because the only good thing about re7 is the baker family and thee atmosphere. Gameplay was good but you don't want to fight the same big blob for the one hundred time. Village seems to have a wide range of enemies that require different tactics.

The original doom has horror elements, though it is generally an aesthetic. However, in Doom 2 the Archvile was introduced. That motherfucker is scary. It makes sounds not dissimilar to Regenerators, can hit you for up to 90 health from any range after about two seconds of aiming at you, and it can revive enemies. That's something that is a bastard to fight and has a scary veneer around it. That would be really weird in Resident Evil, but something to that caliber where it's both scary in aesthetic and for how powerful it is.

The only thing scarier than the Archville is what Map Designers did with him once they went to make Plutonia.

Plutonia breaks a man...
