Is the general consensus that this is marketing for RE8? It seems pretty late on for such an elaborate marketing campaign....

ID: gw8khn4I don't think this has anything to do with RE4VR or Village, these kinds of ARG's usually lead to the initial reveal of something, not to advertise something that's already announced.
My guess is that this will lead to either a trailer for the Netflix live action Resident Evil TV series, or the live action movie they're also making.
We dont have a release date for the TV series, so my money is on this being the eventual trailer drop for the RE movie which has a release date of November this year.

ID: gw8o2mcFrom what it sounds like, they rebuilt it from the ground up purely for VR. Hand movements, dual wielding. I don’t see them allowing it to be played outside of VR unfortunately

best case: its about some weird, secret legal battle with sony which spanned multiple courts about getting the PS1 originals of RE 1, 2, 3, and Dino Crisis 1+2 onto other platforms. This ARG is just turning it into a REUniverse story.
