Apparently when you open the coffin in the tower of worship but don’t grab the dagger, Lady D will not spawn again. Meaning you can freely roam the castle without her chasing you. I’m not sure if this is intended or a bug but it’s definitely nice lol
That's neat, had no idea about this, although pretty strange. Helpful if you want to backtrack to the loot you missed peacefully. She's pretty slow anyways and barely a threat though. Then again, good if you want to admire the aesthetics of the castle itself I guess or kill the remaining enemies without getting bothered by Lady D.ID: gz2tj0l
Yeah I’m roaming around the castle to see if she ever spawns again and she’s not. It’s Weird. I’m trying to get all the windows for the The Hooligan achievement which is why I left the coffin in the first place. I’m guessing it has to be not intended. Maybe the devs thought people would just grab the dagger after opening it and trigger the boss fight.ID: gz2u9ux
Oh yeah, that challenge. I haven't even done it yet and completely forgot about it. That's definitely another good use for this bug or whatever Capcom intended. Using this on the next run to get this challenge done, thanks.
That's probably the case, as I've grabbed it every run so far without hesitation. I'm sure most people do as well.ID: gz43qe4
I really wish I knew this about 10 minutes ago. I just reached her boss right on Village of Shawdows, but throughout her Castle, Jesus CHRIST she is fast. She practically fuckin' sprints at you, it caught me off guard from how slow she usually is.
It might be intentional, like how in RE7 once you trigger the cutscene of Jack grabbing the dog head, he despawns from around the house so you are pretty much free to explore at your leisure. (On madhouse mode this means you can get through pretty easily by getting the scorpion key from the birdcage as soon as you enter, pretty much skipping stalker jack entirely, although if you are too slow he might still barely get you before you enter the hallway)
That's a pretty good tip
I had thought it was intentional, but who knows. Personally I found out about it on my first playthrough naturally, because of the fact that the coffin and dagger are the last things to interact with for the whole area, and if you read the note before you knew it was for using against her, so it was very obviously about to escalate into a boss fight, and it feels like a natural point for players to turn around and complete any unfinished looting and lockpicking buisness in the castle. So Lady D being gone feels like a purposeful favour to the player in order to do so.
Do regular enemies still spawn?ID: gz38840
No, I think once you kill them all that’s it. Although I think they respawn once. Because I cleared the courtyard once and then came back later and enemies were there again but after that no more.
I think it’s an intentional trigger point. Same thing happens with the Maroon Eye door. If you put the eye in but DON’T open it, the daughter won’t spawn.
What I want to know is why does Ethan think to open the coffin and grab that dagger if he's just trying to escape the castleID: gz32tj2
Because there is no obvious way out so he might as well arm himself?ID: gz3d3ey
Imagine trying to make sense of Resident EvilID: gz31y2k
After all that work grabbing the masks, how could you not!ID: gz40gk7
So he can deal with the vengeful and pretty much invincible clawed monster chasing him.
Tbh she was never truly a big threat anyways. But it is nice if I want to backtrack without the stress. Thanks for the tip might be helpful in village of shadow difficulty I haven’t seen how she works in that difficulty yetID: gz48rec
Yeah she’s really not a big deal. I think Mr X was more of a problem than her, But if you’re missing some things it’s nice to just explore without the anxiety. She surprised me a couple times and cornered me when I wasn’t expecting it. Ever since then I just have bad anxiety trying to explore around even though I know I can get around her pretty easily but she has a talent of cornering you haha
