Imo, RDR2 is the best virtual world ever created in terms of life and detail.
However, I prefer my games to be fun.

ID: h5o65bvYeah. RDR2 was a pure benchmark in any audiovisual way. Yet after 50% of the main story it stopped being fun. Photo Mode Simulator with shooting galleries.

ID: h5ob5sjThank you, hit the nail on the head. I felt like a crazy person when all the reviews were saying how it was literally the second coming of Jesus ITS THAT FUCKING GOOD!!. And I was sat there 10 hours in, forcing myself to play it thinking '....meh'.

I play plenty of flight-sims and space-sims. I'm used to dozens of bindings and complex systems that you need to learn. But RDR2 is the only one that actually felt awkward to the point of feeling hostile to the person playing it.

Great game, but I honestly liked the first RDR better.
ID: h5otgj4I loved RDR, not even for nostalgic reasons, I played it fairly recently. But I can't get into RDR2 at all. Maybe I'm just a dumbass but a lot of the systems feel unnecessarily complicated. Gorgeous game though

It’s certainly beautiful but I stalled on it early and got my nose turned. I keep saying I’ll go back, but I haven’t yet.
ID: h5o8xudSame. I got it started, and it IS pretty, but for me, it just wasn’t interesting. I don’t know how far I got (not that far though), and found I myself uninterested in starting it up again.

If nothing else, my wife bought it for me at full price on release day and is very much aware I played it for one hour. Lol

ID: h5ofyfwThe game has just about everything nailed imo except for the horrible controls and the gameplay feeling incredibly clunky. Also yeh the first 3 chapters or so in story are really slow and most of the first two seem like a glorified tutorial.

I just want to make it clear that this game is best in MY opinion. It's full of cool little mysteries, places to see/visit. Alot of nice side missions and the story is rich with the beautiful twists never mind the graphics and all the details. Im not here to compare games, cause it's absolutely pointless, there are many great games, but in MY opinion this one tops them all.

It's in my all time top 5. Currently playing it right now. Think I'm on Chapter 4. It's fantastic. Love the story. Love the atmosphere.

I absolutely loved the game. One of the best gaming experiences all time. Even with that said though.. I can't bring myself to replay it. All those tedious bits kill the replay value for me. For the first playthrough, sure I'm all about it.. But not for subsequent playthroughs. If there was a version that sped up walking in camp, sped up cooking, etc.. I think I'd get it for PC in a heartbeat. Until then, it'll just be a one time experience.

I’m playing through it now, it’s definitely good and visually stunning but the gameplay is quite poor. The fact it takes me an hour ti move 20 feet is annoying tho.

I bought this game along with Dark Souls 3, guess which was the least memorable game.
Not hate, the game is very high quality in a lot of aspects, but I could list 10 other games before I even thought about RD2 as a contender.

Yes and it is one of my favourites too. First time I bought it on launch for the PS4 played a few hours and returned it the next day. Then years later once I had my pc I tried it again and after a good few hours I enjoyed it more and more. If anyone is on the fence I would recommend playing it for a good few hours it will get better and better.

I've been trying to get into this game for a while and it's... well, it's just not happening. It's like Skyrim: everyone raves about it but I'd much rather play GTA V/Online instead.
