I WILL BE BACK TOMORROW JULY 3OTH AT 6PM TO ANSWER ON INSTAGRAM LIVE!
Topics you can ask me about: Anything.
In addition to The Duke, I’ve been lucky enough to voice some other cool characters in my career so far. Look me up on IMDB to see if you recognize any of them.
Some key talking points could be: Resident Evil Village and my involvement with it, horror movies, horror toys, old horror movies, new horror movies, food, Seattle, dogs, favorite charities, model building, pizza, not politics, classic movies, 80s movies, 80s toys, the 80s, horror history, history, my hopes and dreams, voice work, Genndy Tartakovsky’s PRIMAL, Los Angeles, cooking shows, etc.
Those are just some ideas. I will answer really any question about any subject. But if the questions are dumb, mean spirited, or if they strike me as inappropriate, then I won’t. Pretty standard stuff.
You can find me on: INSTAGRAM: @dooder3 TWITTER: AaronLaPlante5 IMDB: Just type my name into the search bar. YOUTUBE: Just search my name and see what comes up. There are a bunch of interviews, short films, sketches, and probably some embarrassing stuff.

Did the writers give you any more info on the Duke then we got in game? Don't spoil it for us, but I'm kinda curious if they had any further ideas on the character they wanted to reflect in your performance.
-
Will you ever consider playing RE Village and/or RE4 to personally experience the two RE merchants in the franchise?
-
Do you wish the Duke could have ended up being a boss fight?
-
Since you bring up horror, I'm guessing you're a fan. Was that a factor in bringing you to Resident Evil? And what's your favorite horror genre?
-
How does it feel portraying one of the best characters in the game?
The Duke felt like a VERY sketchy ally, but the ending with him and Ethan was touching. Your performance was fantastic.

-
Which lines were the hardest to do when voicing, The Duke?
-
No questions here just wanted to say your awesome.
-
Do you think (just MAYBE) the Duke went to save Ethan after Ethan blew up the village? Perhaps we’ll find out in RE9?
-
Hey Aaron, its great to have you on the sub.
The Duke really did Ethan a solid by cooking him some hot meals during Village. If I dropped by with some of my buddies, what kinds of dishes could you make to impress us?
-
Did you have a lot of fun voicing The Duke?
-
Did you take any inspiration for The Duke's voice?
-
Is the character of the merchant based on the Spice King from GoT? That's who his mannerisms and figure reminded me of.
-
How's it going man?
-
There was an idea at one point that we'd see what life was like in the village in the Mediaeval Period. Did you record any lines for this version? A popular fan theory is that the Duke is centuries old.

What ideas led to giving the Duke a sort of ironic, self-aware personality right off the bat. He seems like he’s really enjoying seeing Ethan wreck havoc, and is always making cheeky remarks or gushing over the remains of the lords. Do you think he knows something everybody doesn’t, or isn’t native to the land?
-
What should I have for breakfast? Tochitura de Pui or a bagel?

Hey Aaron, I loved your performance for the Duke! Who are your favorite female characters from the Resident Evil franchise?
-
The Duke is by far my favorite character from Village, big part being your fantastic voice acting for his amazing voicelines.
Some questions:
1: Did you do any mo-cap for him, and if so how did that work with his unique physique?
2: Did you also make the startled and breathing sounds from his idle mode?
3: What is your favorite line from Duke?
Lastly: What's the name of your robot butler?

If you had the chance to would you like to return to the RE franchise to voice act another character or the Duke again if he ever comes back around?
-
Do you play video games and if so which is your favourite

Hey Aaron! Your portrayal of the Duke was so funny and memorable. My question is, if you were able to VA another RE character but in the Duke's voice, who would it be?
-
Thank you for your performance as The Duke, your character definitely made Village a lot more enjoyable to me and other people, he’s definitely a worthy legacy to Merchant from 4! As for the questions: Did you record your voice lines alone or did you interact with Todd Soley (Ethan’s VA) while making the dialogue? 🙂
-
Was the version of the Duke that you recorded for the same as the original take on the character once you got involved?
I'm just curious if the way the character was presented to you morphed after your involvement, like maybe you were initially told his role would be different?
-
What was your favorite piece of dialogue as The Duke?
-
Was here any particular inspirations for your portrayal of the Duke's voice/accent?
Also any hints from the Capcom higher ups about bringing you back to reprise the Duke for some of the future DLC expansions for the game? The Duke is easily my favourite character from Village so would love to see him come back for some future content, loved your performance as him!

Lol I think so. The only thing I can think of is he’ll take the questions he likes most and show them in text on his live feed while giving a verbal answer. Still, really odd
