Claire fanart by me. A cell phone would save lives, but then there would be no story. How would you imagine RE2 these days?

This is a phone that someone might have owned in 1998. Many people didn't have mobiles yet.

I remember how impossible it used to be to get hold of someone if they weren't home.

Claires involvement makes much more sense through that lense.

Chris isn't picking up his landline. She travels into town to check with his employers (the police) and potentially go sit in his apartment and wait for him. Because how else would you find someone?

Yes, I don't know when cell phones started to get really popular, but I remember that in 1998 (when I was a kid) it was very expensive to have one and here in Brazil they were huge and clunky. The one you sent in the link was still cute and small. Apart from the problems with the signal. In the remake she starts talking to someone on the landline at the gas station. It makes sense that she called the station before, but no one answered. so she was probably doing what you said.

But in Re6 Ada has a hologram phone and in the movies they got lasers that can cut people in half, they have sprays that can heal pretty much all injuries

Re6 is 15 years later in 2013.

Its also a game with much higher elements of fantasy than 2.

Sci-fi is always through the lense of the decade in which it was made.

For example: Theres a reason starwars involves dogfights. Because we understand them as a concept.

But in the RE6 universe, anything is possible hahaha

Not many people had them in 1998.

I think remake Claire and forward should have more embraced the biker thing.

I agree with you. And she was also more daring, rebellious, a daughter of rock. Now she has become very nice and pacifist hahaha

It's really goofy. I don't have any problem with the whole Peace corps feed the world vibe, but she's a tough broad. She's been through some shit. If anything, in Infinite Derpness, she should have been treating Leon like he was a rookie, not him treating her like she was still in college. It was stupid. I would love it if Claire was a member of a biker gang or something, getting caught up in outbreaks and being a badass bitch. It's easy to forget these days that this is the woman who drove her motorcycle across the Atlantic Ocean to infiltrate Umbrella with a Zippo lighter and a leather jacket.

How about having a 3D printer instead? We could make the emblems to fit in the puzzles and whatnot.

That literally happens in Code Veronica, there’s a 3D printer you use to make an emblem

yes i had forgotten that hahaha
