I have a similar collection with nowhere close to the organization. I'm really jealous. My wife would love this too.
What shelves are those?
Do you have a table as well?
ID: h921vq9The left and right right wooden shelves I custom made when my collection was smaller. The height of each shelf is adjustable and slides forward to make it easier to get the tight fitting games out. The metal shelves are some generic brand I got at a home depot.
I am working on designing a custom table to build but I haven't been able to settle on some of the more unique specifics.

Man, I am super jealous! I have no one who wants to play with me. My husband isn't really interested in board games, my mother-in-law doesn't have the patience to learn the rules and my son is still too little. And all our friends have busy lives.
When we were younger we all liked to play magic the gathering together. I miss those times.
If my son later shows even the tiniest bit of interest in playing board games with me I will be so happy. I already bought a few children friendly games and just waiting for him to show interest.
ID: h92pc9qMy wife and middle son are who I do the most of my gaming with. Some anniversaries we actually do gencon. I am pretty fortunate that she is just as into this hobby as I am.
I started my kids at a younger age than the boxes suggested and I think that helped with getting my kids into games who will still play now that they are in high school.
I know what you mean about rules. I’ve tried to teach my parents and hers and their eyes just glaze over like you’re explaining quantum theory.

I always picture the board ga,e fanatics on here having a best friend like Newman and Kramer playing risk
In reality I feel a friend comes over and half the time is spent explaining how to play the game. That was how it was when I had board game night with some friends!

ID: h927bgcThat's one of the first more complex game I ever played. My really good gaming buddy introduced me to it. I think it's actually the first board game I bought a copy of that someone I knew already had one. I really wanted to be able to play it whenever I wanted.
ID: h929m4uI feel that. It was my gateway board game. The complexity of it is irritating but also so satisfying. Great collection!
