Every play-through I tell myself that I’m going to mix up the party yet I always wind up with Alistair, Morrigan, and the dog.

ID: h91xufg

Hearing Morrigan's name is pretty fucking nostalgic.

ID: h92dc9v

I can still hear her and imitate her exact intonation of 'indeed' to this day

ID: h92069l

I mean, the arguing between Alistair and Morrigan is priceless.

ID: h92hros

"We now have a dog and Alistair is still the dumbest one in the party."

ID: h922jpu

Alistair Morrigain Shale supremacy

ID: h92de3u

Yes, shale best 4th character!

ID: h91srvs

Yup

"Enchantment?"

ID: h91la8q

"Enchantment!"

ID: h92p530

Sandal, What The Fuck?! What happened to all these Darkspawn?

ID: h932n48

"Boom!"

I have never seen so much effort put in the intro alone, it's amazing. Personal favorite of mine was the dwarf noble, hands down

ID: h911kuc

I remember my noble playthrough being really good, but the one that stood out for me was being a City Elf Blood Mage, eventually rising up to protect the city from which had shunned them using the dark powers. God I love that game

ID: h924825

Is that with mods? Because you can't be a City Elf and a mage at the same time, picking the mage class automatically sends you to the Circle Mage origin story

ID: h929gza

I saved Orzimmar for my last city to hit up for treaties, because I wanted to savor my brother's stupid look on his face when I rolled up with my posse, still very much alive.

The best dragon age by farrrr

ID: h9208nl

There was only 1 Dragon Age game. Never made any sequels, ever, nope.

ID: h927tvh

Inquisition wasn't terrible. Just wasn't nearly as good as Origins. Multiplayer was more fun than the campaign though, honestly.

ID: h927xt2

Inquisition was amazing though. 2 was also good besides the repeated environments, but do people really hate inquisition that much? I think it's one of my favorite games ever

ID: h925qsr

DA2 was real rough on the player. 24/7 loading screens, I don't know how the game was even playable if you hadn't spent hundreds on an early SSD for your system to play from. Solo boss fights where if you were a caster build, the boss was just going to fuck you into a mushy pile of meat if you didn't kite them around pillars and have them get a few unlucky misses.

There is never enough times with this game. My personal GOAT.

7 : Anonymous2021/08/15 13:04 ID: h90ytzz

This is one of Bioware's best work. This company was anyway on it's own level. Jade Empire, DAO, Kotor, Swtor, Baldurs Gate, Mass Effect 2, Neverwinter nights. They made the best stories in video games ever. And then they made Anthem....

ID: h915gu7

I mean, they made mass effect andromeda before anthem, and while I still love the game for what it is they made dragon age inquisition before that and mass effect 3 and da2 both took big steps away from the quality of me2 and dao before them.

Bioware has been in a fairly steady decline for over a decade. We can only really hope that anthem was the low point they bounce back from.

ID: h91rxve

Playing the legendary edition now and I still feel 3 is better than 2. 2 had the best squad mates but the story was relatively weak. 3 had better gameplay and ending controversy aside, the most impactful moments imo.

ID: h91sefg

I personally enjoy me3 a lot more than me2. The weight of the situation alone made it a lot more enjoyable.

One of my favorite games of all time. I wish they never changed the combat in the sequels.

Check out Divinity: Original Sin if you haven't already. It's amazing.

ID: h9117of

There was actual tactics and options you could use, and the variety of playstyles, back stories, backgrounds and how all of these would have an impact on your run through.

It really was a gem of a game, I'd kill for a remaster, but in its original style and not remade like it's sequels

ID: h911hvp

Divinity is great! I also loved wasteland 3 for the same reasons after it was fixed.

ID: h928cft

At some point in the game, some spell combinations made combat too easy though. Typically frost cone + shattering = one shot except against bosses. The Witcher 1 had the same problem with aard + execution.

That's typically the problem with RPGs: if you minmax and clear all the content, eventually you end up overpowered and there is no challenge.

9 : Anonymous2021/08/15 11:45 ID: h90rffq

It's been on my Steam for years and I keep meaning to play it! At this point I'm waiting to play it on the Steam Deck, I get much more hand-held gaming time these days

ID: h9226tj

Man you really need to play it. It shows its age a bit in parts like the start but its still one or the best rpgs out there. I feel like it will be easiest with the decks touchpad or a mouse and keyboard as unlike the following games you have a lot more skills on a traditional pc hot bar so a numbers on the keyboard were a quick and easy way to utilise the like 10+ skills you had.

Swooping is bad

11 : Anonymous2021/08/15 14:06 ID: h915qrr

Love the game! The variations of play style makes it unique. My favorite was a dual-wielding heavy armor rogue

ID: h9194y2

I used dual wielding warrior but with extremely light armour, I had found an interesting exploit so I wanted to rely on speed and look like it haha

ID: h91xfsj

Double Haste + stacking mana/stamina regen + Arcane Warrior = invincible stabby boi

12 : Anonymous2021/08/15 14:09 ID: h9164bv

I was so sad my elf couldn’t stay with Alistair at the end. She was pretty too. I need to load it up and take pics it’s been so long

13 : Anonymous2021/08/15 16:01 ID: h91l96b

Its that good huh? I guess I’ll try it out sometime

14 : Anonymous2021/08/15 16:48 ID: h91s2oo

Man, I just never have managed to get into it. I've tried to play a few times, and I've gotten out of the tutorial once. It just doesn't stick for me.

15 : Anonymous2021/08/15 17:55 ID: h921p7y

Was the only dragon age I ever liked

16 : Anonymous2021/08/15 12:07 ID: h90t9ed

Back when Bioware and EA liked making good games

ID: h90zwlz

EA always only liked money. And then they discovered the formula for easy money.

Brace for impact, as this only has started.

17 : Anonymous2021/08/15 12:03 ID: h90swk6

I never, ever managed to get past the miniboss fight before the Archdemon.

I even cleared the entire castle court battle without summoning reinforcements from any faction (except for the very last one after I got the defender achievement) but that fight? Never got it.

Ended up quitting without finishing the game.

ID: h90xv1n

Which miniboss fight are you talking about? I don't remember there being any particularly difficult fights in the lead up to the final battle.

18 : Anonymous2021/08/15 14:37 ID: h919oeq

I just started playing through for the first time! I’ve always wanted to play the series, but never got around to it. Any tips?

ID: h91qyna

Make zevran go invisible as much as possible and then backstab people. He'll murder everyone

ID: h921s3l

I used to position 3 of my guys behind a door and lure hard enemies through with another character, create your own advantages!

ID: h922he4

Get Shale as soon as you can. Amazing character.

19 : Anonymous2021/08/15 16:47 ID: h91rvcf

Remaster it and I will pay for it 50 fucking times

20 : Anonymous2021/08/15 16:50 ID: h91sapc

I’ve played this game countless times. Definitely in my top 10 favorite games of all time.
