- And I know I'm not the only one
-
If there's none, I just use wemod. Adult life isn't easy.
-
RIP to 10 year old me who wasted an hour to find difficuly settings on OG Dark souls
-
Who grinds on normal?
Wtf are you even grinding?
Do you only play Disgaea?
-
No one in the world grinds a single game on 'Normal' difficulty mode.
-
As a middle age-ish parent I still play games on hard. The difficulty doesn't trip me up much. I'm more concerned with games over-loaded with side missions, collectibles and/or massive open-worlds because they literally take me months to beat.
-
Dang you must be really good at video games
-
If you middle-age you wouldn't be worried about grinding you would wonder where the game shark is
-
I main spec English but subclass German..
-
Honestly never would have guessed it, your comics are so on point I had no idea. Your English is generally fantastic
-
As a nearly middle-aged parent - speak for yourself.
I work a steady job, run my own home business, and do random odd jobs on the side as I can. Still play almost every game on hard difficulty (or whatever is directly above "normal") . I am not a fan of games being too easy.
You can like easy mode. I don't care either way, we all have preferences, but I couldn't be bothered. It just is not fun to me.
-
I like this take. Being a person with responsibilities versus being someone who is good at video games is a false dichotomy.
-
While I'll consider myself good at games, that definitely wasn't my point though.
I just can't be bothered to not have any challenge in a hobby. I like art, even though I often push myself to do beyond my skills. Cooking new foods from scratch, etc. I like feeling accomplished when I do something, and "easy mode" tends to not lend me that feeling.
-
I feel the same. Some people seems to be puzzled that challenge can be fun for some. People say they have little time so the story must go on and I don't understand...
I also have little gaming time so my gaming time must be oriented towards being ''fun''. Not towards ''advancing the story''. If ''advancing the story'' is what you consider fun than go ahead but it has nothing to do with having little or a lot of time. If ''fun'' for you is dying 20 time on the same boss and not moving an inch in that specific gaming session than go ahead and once again, it has nothing to do with having little or a lot of time.
-
As a parent, I have very little time for video games. With respect for people who play on easy, i want my precious video game time turned up to 11. Otherwise I might as well watch a show
-
He is speaking for himself, but sure man
(And don’t hit me with “ain’t nobody” means he’s actually speaking for everyone unless you wanna admit to the internet that you don’t understand hyperbole)
-
The title also says "I'm not the only one".
Moreover, it's simply a reply to a post I find opposite to my personal views. Calm down lol
-
Ey! A functioning psyche! Well done pal
-
Damn youre cool
-
Means you're not playing the right games then or have too much free time.
-
Or I just like having a challenge.
If people want to play on easy, good for them, but I find that shit boring as hell.
-
Or skills translate between games.
-
Ahahahaha look at the cognitive dissonance!
-
Ok dude, you're a dumbass. You are not wrong for playing the games on easy, but you are for these comments
-
Not everyone was born with Pure Gamer Blood like us. Sucks for them
-
Same man. Same.
-
What's a game you can suggest with a story that really pulled you in?
I loved the interactive movie era of JRPG's. But either im getting to old to enjoy it, or they dont make anything like that any more.
-
Looks like a pony finding a argument to say narrative games are good.
-
Not a parent but I like to enjoy the story of the game than grinding so I also love story mode
-
I just watch other people play when I don't feel like putting in effort. I save literally hundreds of dollars.
-
I used to do that until I was introduced to the Soulborne genre. Then I understood the satisfaction of overcoming an seemingly impossible boss. The hardest difficulty is my default go-to for all my games now. It might take me a week, or it might take me 3 months to beat the game but I definitely feel like I am only getting the full value out of the game when I complete them on the hardest difficulty.
-
While we're talking about it fuck these games that don't let you change the difficulty mid way through
-
There is a difference between difficulty that just requires more xp and difficulty that requires skill.
-
My dad be like (he's still failing sometimes lol)
-
Found it, I couldn't in one go.
-
This was just posted two weeks ago.
-
And i am disappointed in games that uses microtransactions to make games easier.
-
I constantly have to remind myself that it’s okay for a video game to just be easy and enjoyable. There is a lot of video game culture around how brutally challenging a game is and how much you have to grind to win. Sometimes I just like something fun and easy 🙂
-
Yes you are…
-
I think GTA is the best one, the game is easy enough, but you can still feel the dangers
-
This is me: I always start on hard for the challenge. Then realise I only have time to play this game if both my wife and kids are in bed and just switch to the most manageable option instead.
-
Eh I try medium the first run anyway. Hard if medium is too easy. Except ninja Gaiden. The only game I respected and quit almost at the end too. Fuck ninja Gaiden lmao
-
There‘s definitely a place in gaming for an easy mode but there is also a place for games that don’t have them. There should be games that are hard and if you want to beat them there‘s no way around actually grinding and raging and learning the first time. I think a game like Dark Souls or Sekiro would lose a lot of their value if you could just step down a little on the difficulty simply because people would do it. It’s cool that everyone who beats one of these games (especially if it’s your first time with a souls like game) knows what everyone else „went through“. So not only is it much more satisfying to beat it like it’s supposed to be beat, it also makes you feel this kind of camaraderie with other players.

I need a dad
-
Only until recently I bought my first console, a PS4 and it's been a childhood dream come true. The downside is I have to work 10 hour shifts to pay for it (third world country problems, y'know) I was playing Jedi Fallen Order and got to fight the ninth sister on normal mode and Jesus fuck, I had to back out to story mode. At first I felt guilty but then I remembered I am playing to relax and enjoy, so screw it, I'll never feel bad for dumbing my games down.
-
Wait... y'all are parents and you have time for gaming?
-
Exactly why I don't have or want kids. I love having extra time for doing whatever I want. That's why I worked so hard in high school and college!
-
Got two kids, 34...still prefer a challenge. I’m not trying to watch a movie.
-
Then might as well just watch the gameplay from Twitch
-
The ironic thing about hobbies is when you are young you got time but not money but as you get older you have more money and less time

How to get 46K karma with a two week old repost.
