Man weirdly voip caused me to gain trust in players even harder. Once you get betrayed once, it's really hard not getting paranoid around other players

me and a mate befriended and escorted a PMC to lighthouse extract after finding a tank battery and giving it to him so to each his own
ID: hoj7je2On a scav run me and my friend were very lost on lighthouse and asked a fellow scav how to get out, he led us to the extract and we paid him with some loot lol
ID: hojfd5cLed some fellow scavs on a long trek to the only scav extract i knew at the time. Met another group of scavs lost but really close to the extract. Led them out but the first group didn't have that extract. So then they followed us around till we found the industrial gate extract. Pretty fun and positive experience.

Where the fuck do these VOIP people play? I'm up 17 raids for PMC and likely the same on scav on US West and not a single person will respond. Been getting shot on sight pretty consistently from player scavs which is pretty unusual from past experiences on this server group.

Voiped a dude in woods the other day. He was lost and couldn't find USEC camp so I led him there. Once there the mines went off behind the camp so I Voiped this other guy to see if he needed help or a surg kit. The dude turned around and blew my head off.

I was quietly scaving peacefully on reserve, my past countless runs had been filled with hordes of voip users all working together. Life felt great everyone worked together and even occasionally dropped loot for others. Until I hear holy hell break loose at black knight, and the bells of War always draw me in. I run in blasting a pmc running down the stairs, quickly grabbing gear to prepare myself from his lifeless body. When I hear shuffling 2 doors down... I que up voice "Hello? Friendly?.." in the midst of a fresh graveyard a shaken voice sounds back " YES YES FRIENDLY PLEASE HELP ME.." I rush over and find a fellow scav in the corner wounded and offer him all my meds "hey man thank you so much, please take any loot you want, Gluhar is right by the door its all yours." I thank him and begin looting.. no sooner than the zipping sound of search begins my friend quickly became my betrayer and put a well placed round in the back of my skull.. Hence forth it will now and forever be on sight. No peace talks, lead is my native tongue.

I was doing my dehydration task hiding in the forest near town up in woods. I forgot to bring my water for after I finished dehydration. Rolled up on a 2 stack and immediately I said "I'm not hostile!" They were bros and gave me food and water and let me know scavs are where they came from and we parted ways. Good shit.

It's because the voice humanizes the other person. When it's just pre generated voice lines or silently wiggling it's easier to betray someone because it doesn't seem as real. Once you talk to someone and hear them it really makes the mental connection that it's another person.
