Is it possible to flash a RX 6900 XTXH BIOS to a Toxic Extreme 6900XT?

XFX released the new XTXH 6900XT, is it possible to flash the bios to my toxic extreme 6900XT?

Have you tried unlocking the power limit with morepowertool? I would do that instead of flashing the bios.

Nope, I didn’t try it.

It’s pretty easy.

You can't flash bioses across different board partners. Why would you want to do it anyway? Doesn't the toxic extreme have the unlocked(4000mhz limit) chip as well?

cuz my toxic is like a trash anyway. I can‘t even boost to 2.7Ghz sadly.

A different vbios won't make your chip clock higher

With the Toxic Boost Mode enabled?

Maybe it's your system configuration + temperatures holding the boost back and not the bios issue

Mine consistently hits 2.7. Return yours if it doesn’t.

Why simply not use morepowertool?

This will not work unfortunately, all non-XTXH cards have hardware locks on their maximum GPU operating voltages, so who says impossible to increase the maximum GPU voltage says not possible to overclock the GPU a little more, at the same time. limit in MPT the only thing that can be done is to increase the maximum amperage value for the GPU (TDC Limits for GFX) and also increase the value of Power Limit stock, this allows to boost higher and longer (but in return the card will heat up more), that's what I did on my RX 6800 XT (Gigabyte Gaming OC model): I set my GPU TDC Limit which was 300 Amps by default to 350 Amps and I modified my Power Limit which from 254 Watts stock to 289 Watts which allows to authorize a maximum consumption of 332 Watts when I set my Power Limit in the AMD drivers to +15%.

This may not be true anymore..

Why would you want to do that?

The Toxic Extreme is the highest pre binned GPU on the market with a guaranteed boost of >2700 Mhz via Trixx software.

There's no reason to flash it with any other bios.

If you want to increase limits use MPT.

Anyway, to answer your question, yes you can do it, via Linux or an hardware flasher directly on the bios chip.

thanks mate, I would try the MPT now.

My 6900xt eats a nice 380w during timespy benchmark. MPT works well.

What settings you run on the TE in Rad Soft?

Try the Radeon Software overclocking. It will probably provide similar performance to the Toxic Extreme.

Your issue will more than likely be thermals. The larger fans on the Sapphire vs some of the other stock or smaller cards makes a big difference on the maximum frequency. Your can also try undervolting.

I have the Sapphire Nitro+ 6800 XT and using the Radeon Software's overclocking I was able to get 2444 MHz with on click vs the stock 2325 MHz.

Undervolting may also provide a good boost in frequency and reduce temperatures.

where can i change the undervolting?

Performance tab. Just click undervolt.
