Finished it in one go. 100% of PS5 owners should play this game imo. Pretty much beat the game before I realized I hadn't closed my mouth in 3 hours. Kudos to everyone involved in its production. 10/10
edit: just realized GOTY is a bit misleading since it came out last year. Whoops. But of all the games I've played in 2021, this is still probably my fav.

The moment you feel rain for the first time in game is quite lovely, isn’t it?
ID: hkaarq7ID: hkacgmpYea, the vending machine was very satisfying.
ID: hkarrpdFor me it was running on glass.
ID: hkaz28tThe ice was crazy
ID: hkb5isbAnd ice skating
ID: hkbyx6eRunning with my horse on ice in Ghost of Tsushima for me.. And the drone of the wooden walkways
ID: hkbfx6mWhat about the wind blowing you from the side on the rope walk? I thought that was awesome! I still feel like the controller feedback has more to give then we've had so far.. unless I've missed games that utilise it more? Either way its such a cool feature

I feel you my man.
This was an amazing introduction to the console and a joyfull experience top to bottom.
With each level I would smile with the references from the games to the console pieces environment.
It had been year's since I felt the same way with a game.
In the end you just know the developers made it with 100% heart involved, SNES style, not just a cash grab that are most games this day.
ID: hk9prn6A year in it's low key one of the best games on the system. I've been playing PlayStation since January 1997, some of the fan service was genuinely emotional.
ID: hkar9s7Finishing my first World and not expecting to hear and see the PS3 start up was wild. Then I noticed there were 4 levels, and I looked forward to revisiting each one. What an absolute achievement this game truly was.
ID: hka1j4bAs an added note, why the heck isn’t there a new Super Rub-a-Dub?!
Damn game retired from PS store with PS3, and hasn’t been anything like it since.
Still have kids who’ve grown up and come over asking if they can play “the duck game”.

I was fortunate enough to get a PS5 on launch day. Anyone I’ve known that has gotten one since, I always say “play Astro. It’s for real a blast”
I had one friend that thought it was some crap added to the system so they deleted it. But reinstalled on my suggestion. Ended up loving it!
ID: hka411hEven after beating it, I leave it installed so any time someone's over and wants to try out the PS5, I can be like, "Okay, play this."
ID: hkbg475Literally, done this to everyone to justify me buying the ps5. So many say what the difference. This game is the difference.
ID: hka63dvMy brother came to visit the weekend I got mine and it was the first thing I made him try
ID: hka8zdgIt’s so great because it feels like a wii game
ID: hka9ticIt’s funny you mention that. I described it to one friend as “the best Nintendo game that Nintendo never made”
ID: hk9sev7why would anyone get a new console and uninstall the free game on it!?!?!
ID: hk9us4tGotta make room for Warzone to install
ID: hka99q9Probably thought it was bloatware
ID: hkaarzvmaybe they associate free with being bad or just don’t think they would enjoy it since they don’t know what it is. either way it is still an amazing game that everyone should play
ID: hkabrzmWas fortunate enough to purchase mine the night before launch day and pick it up that morning. The amazement I felt playing that game for the first time was out of this world. I really hope AAA games take full advantage of the controller the way Astro did. Amazing game, and even better that its free.

Still one of the best experiences on PS5. I’m really glad AP’s developer is working on a new title
-
It made me feel like a kid again
ID: hk9wd6bThis was my exact feeling. Can't wait to see what that team does next.
ID: hka3nq2Astrobot on PSVR is great too. Hopefully they’re working on a sequel (something totally new might be cool too).
-
Because it is designed to be fun instead of to make money.
ID: hkazbcwThe perks of being a tech demo. It's already in the console, you don't need to sell it. So you can just have fun making it
ID: hka59vmBig truth

I love this game. And wow, the nostalgia.
But my five- and three-year-old boys love it too. The controller effects are incredible, and while I'm not the biggest fan of them blowing spit into my controller during the fan parts, we've gotten hours of entertainment out of this thing as a family.
ID: hkadlsqThis is the first game my 6 year old has ever had interest in playing.

Astro's Playroom the game I wish I could experience it again for the first time!
-
I didn’t know the PS5 came with a pack-in game and never heard of Astro before. I was taken by complete surprise with how amazing that little game was. It’s a short game but everything is so high quality and it feels undeniably next gen.
-
It was great. Very fun
-
This may sound a little dramatic, but sincerely Astro's Playroom sorta revitalized my love for games. I felt like a kid again playing a pure, simple, fun game.
-
Amazing game. I smell a mascot incoming when the PSVR2 drops that a new game will be for standard play as well.
Also try Sackboy’s Big Adventure. Another magical game.
-
I feel the same way man. Playing it when I got my ps5 got me so pumped and excited for the rest of the ps5 games. Hoping that they'd use the vibrations like in Astro's Playroom and so far Ratchet and Clank is the only game that is similar.
-
Was such a good game, that and Demon's Souls remake were amazing at launch.
-
GPUuuuuuuuuuuuuuu
-
Yeah I probably platinum'd that Astro game in 5 hours and loved every minute of it. It's basically the Astro VR game but with neat new mechanics and rumble.
I know some people that just saw it as a demo and skipped it. What a bunch of turds.
-
AstroBot is special. I got the platinum and still go back to it because it’s a joy to play. They nailed the collectibles, the cute factor and gameplay. I really hope they’re making another game and it releases soon.
-
How does one get a ps5? Is there a good site for Canadians to check for stock? Please help.
ID: hk9umogTwitter stock notifications
ID: hk9xpwlSeconded. I live in Canada and have had a PS5 for almost a year from a twitter notification. Very helpful
-
Lol man I felt the same way when I first played it. Astro's Playroom on the PS5 is an excellent tech demo for the system and the DualSense controller. As well as a wonderful love letter to playstation fans.
-
I discover something new every time I play it. The room with the GPU lyrics. Omg!
ID: hka4cpmThe lyrics were pretty much written by one person overnight IIRC. Anyone who liked the game might enjoy this interview with one of the devs Nicolas Doucet (director / producer on astrobot). This team has a ton of passion and talent.
ID: hk9yqlvThere’s two!
-
Should be a required play! To think of how many people have passed up on this great game… a great easy and most importantly FUN platinum!

That and cracking the balls open from the vending machine. Soooooo satisfying!
