The rare (blue) items have some special shit on them that isn't useless. Other games just chuck that stuff on the legendary/epic gear.

Fun? In games? You mean they can be more than just soulless shallow money-making treadmills? I AM SHOCKED.

I have played games since early 90s, and I hate what mainstream gaming has become. I have seen a lot of younger people here, who didn't even understand what Outriders is, because they had no frame of reference for it. Meanwhile 90s/early 2000s were full to brim with games which followed similar design philosophies.

It's not even that amazing of a game, and yet it stands out just for not being mindless.

A level 7 blue in Outriders offers more power than a fucking endgame exotic in Destiny 7 years into the franchise.

Wait until you get legendary armour set bonuses. Won’t spoil them if you haven’t seen them yet.

So in theory in this game we can make an outbreak perfected/cloud strike combo type weapon

Word. Destiny literally has exotics that just let you use an ability two times instead of just once every 30-40 seconds. WOW, I AM AMAZED.

Yes I've been amazed at what is possible just at level 7 with mid level gear and no skill tree.

I'm actually worried I may be overwhelmed a bit later in the game.

This was what sold me on the game. Loot matters in the early game. It’s not a “the real game starts at the end game” crap, and you’re not spending 40 hours grinding for boring perkless gear just to get to the good stuff.
