Hi everyone. Years ago I had an accident and 2 nerves were cut in my right arm. Since then my right hand and fingers are very limited in fine motor skills. I used to love video games but have been unable to play properly because of my hand. Can anyone recommend a custom controller designer or company that I can contact to possibly have a controller created so I can play again?
Thank you kindly for your recommendations.

Ben Heckendorn does a lot of this kind of thing:

Fortunately/Unfortunately, only Xbox has an adaptive controller that may help. Unfortunate that Sony doesnt, but it's awesome Xbox does.
Sony did recently join some initiative for disabled players so hopefully they fix that soon.
ID: gurrjccI agree. Xbox is the way to go with the Adaptive Controller. It’s so great that many professional video game users use it as their default controller.
ID: gus0clnI fully agree that's a good thing. Unfortunately our world is driven by money, so the extra sales help encourage more product development.
ID: gurygc3Is the adaptive controller compatible with an adapter for PlayStation?
ID: gurys97Unfortunately I would doubt it but Sony should definitely work with Microsoft on this because the controller is awesome.
ID: gus2pv1Pretty sure it should be. I've used my dualsense with the ps3 using a Magic s Pro usb dongle. Gives full control rather than generic. Though it'll probably be some time before all the dongles and such will offer emulation of the dualsense on ps5 titles.

I am not quite skilled enough with 3D modeling to help you design something (probably), but I feel like a 3D printer could really help solve this somehow.
Microcontrollers like the Arduino Nano or the Raspberry Pi Pico combined with custom 3D printed parts should allow you to adapt the joystick and buttons into something that works for you without destroying your wallet.
That link to Ben Heck's product that someone else replied with looks to be a 3D printed product almost exactly like what I was envisioning.
Did you have anything in mind?
ID: gus2el5I think what I am envisioning is a completely normal left hand side. And on the the hand side R1 and R2 would be almost underneath the controller. For some reason I have a hard time keeping my two finger high up on the R1 and R2. And then for X, O, square and triangle, just slight adjustments to move them almost closer to the right joystick, as I have trouble moving my right thumb too far. But at the same time it would be nice to have x, o, square and triangle to protrude more out of the controller so I ‘feel’ them more. My sensitivity isn’t great in my hand as well. So I find I often have to look down to see what button I’m on. I hope this kind of helps.
ID: gus9hd5The Xbox Elite controller has additional triggers at the back. They’re easily removable so you could take out the left ones and just use the right ones and you can map them to any button or trigger. Here’s a guide for how to use it with the PlayStation: 5 minute hack: how to use the Xbox One Elite controller with your PS4
Edit: The article above is a little old. Here's a link to the new version of the Cronus converter with PS5 support:

Upvoting this to get the OP more visibility
ID: gus5p16Thank you, I appreciate it. My accident happened in 2012 so it’s been a while since I’ve played video games properly. This lockdown is really getting to me and it’d be nice to get back online.

I use my regular ps5 controller single handedly. I had a stroke at birth and am unable to use my right hand. I've been playing video games since I was around 5, starting with the ps1. I can give you some tips if you're interested

Maybe using keyboard and mouse can help since you only click two buttons with the right hand (can be more) and you can move the mouse with the whole arm instead of the wrist
ID: gusbagsUnfortunately a mouse is actually quite difficult with my right hand. My fingers always slip and with my lack of feeling it’s hard to tell if I’m clicking the left or right button
