I’ve had PS5 for about 5 months now. I’ve not cleaned it yet. That is because I’m so worried in case something goes wrong. How often should it be cleaned? My PS5 is not loud, it’s very quiet, if dust has anything to do with that.

I'd clean the dust once or twice a year. Theres two holes you put the vacuum up against. You can check youtube to see where they are. I wouldn't worry too much about it unless you have pets/lots of dust.
ID: gx3u55rID: gx3vpqlWhen people say that they mean you shouldn't take apart the console and vacuum the insides.
Sony said theres a dust catch you can vacuum out, I doubt they'd say it if it wasn't ok.
Now blowing it with canned air seems like a bad idea because you're blowing it back into the system (assuming youre blowing those ports meant for vac)
However if you take it apart further then I'd agree use compresso
air.ID: gx3usorThe electronics are covered by plastic so it will not discharge the static either way. Just turn the power off and unplug the power cord. They wouldn't have made vacuum holes if it was at risk of damaging the system.

If we'll ventilated. I'd say once a year. But if you've concerns. Do it as often as you like. Built to catch dust and be vacuumed.

From the safety guide:
Do not allow dust to build up on the vents. Use a cleaning tool such as a vacuum cleaner to remove dust buildup.

Your over thinking it .
Ive seen people not care for their ps4/ps3/ps2/xbox one/360 and they went on like a god damn tank , if your ps5 wont die from something else it should mostly deal with dust like a champ .
Then there were people who placed their ps4 on carpets and on floors where dust easly accumulates and can actually build up super fast inside and clog up the heatsink (roaches too apparently).
On a desk or shelf with some height to it and proper maintenance of your house/room every week you should very much be able to buy a ps6 before the ps5 would choke on dust .
With all that said the ps5 fan can be cleaned pretty damn instantly after u pop out the covers , and it has 'dust catchers' which tbf no one really knows for sure atm how good they are but theyre also right there after u pop out the covers .

I’m building up the courage to vacuum mine lol it looks easy enough from YouTube videos, but still nervous

Put it in the washing machine once a year. Make sure you put it in a basket of rice to dry.

I took off panels and cleaned because I was curious too. There was just a tiny bit of dust on the fan intake holes in front, and there was nothing by the exhaust. The vacuum hole thing had absolutely nothing in it, but there was just the tiniest bit of dust on the underside of the white panels.
So I'd say you really don't have to clean for a long time, and the part that gets dusty doesn't even require you to take off the panels. So if you wanna be a wimp and not take off your side panels, I think you'll be ok 😉
**had my PS5 since launch btw

The PS5 is designed to take the covers off.

I never cleaned my launch PS4 until like last year and it wasn't even that dusty. Your PS5 can survive more than 5 months without dusting it...if you don't live in a zoo at least
-
To be honest, from what I read and my expererience. You shoudl de-dsut any consoel each 6 months so dust won't build up and infiltrate the heat sink and by that time it will be impossible to get it out of it unless you fully dismantle it and lose warranty and in the PS5 case it has liquid metal so dismantling it will break it.

Here’s how to clean your PS5. When you take the cover off, you’ll be able to see how dirty it is. How often you need to clean your PS5 will depend on a lot of factors, like if you smoke or have a lot of pets.

I live in a very dusty area, so I'm cleaning it once a quarter, it's very easy to clean which is nice
-
Just get a Q-tip or wipe and at the very least clean the main vents in the front and back since ai
goes in/out in those areas. I’d say clean the fan at least once a year. I’ve cleaned the fan once already sometime in Dec/Jan and I already noticed dust building up. Tiny amount but still. How much dust your system absorbs is basically up to how clean the area around it is. I’ve got 3 pets and my furniture gets dusty every few days or so. -
I just cleaned mine. I've had it since December. It was a bit dusty, but not too bad at all. I'd reccomend twice a year depending on the dust buildup. Follow the guide in this link. It's super easy, and I'd also reccomend getting the kit he says to. It works perfectly for this.

Depends on how messy and dusty your place is. If you want to play it safe, I'd clean it at least every 1-3 months. Side panels come off easily and you've got the vacuum holes.
ID: gx36k07I was cleaning out dust every other week, maybe I'll try waiting a month.

Technically you are not supposed to vacuum electronics because the vacuum creates static. Take it outside and blow it out with canned air.
